Its funny you know to hear about power caps on cars or modifing them. So whats Holden Special Vehicals doing or Ford Perfomace Vehicals ? Oh yeah ! thats right building 250-300 kw killers legally ! Nice ! So long as you got the cash and the government gets its cut its ok. They make me wanna puke with their double standards and hypocrisy. So long as you got the cash its ok. Give me a break. A low powered civic at a 130km/h into a power poll has about the same result as any high performance car. I just love political foot balls.
Dude ;
What happened to your old one ? Broke it off ? Broke mine in half a while ago and rpaired it cause I would of had to buy the whole asembly and the bracket was the only thing broken. Let me know if your interested !
Go somthing really retro man ! Like a 1967 HR Holden. They only weigh about a 1000kgs, got heaps of space under the bonnet, plenty of wheel arch space(295s with eez). Nobody looks twice at one at the lights but when you nail it with the RB25 your gone !
I'm after a drivers side power window motor for a '94 R33 GTST as mine is dead. Had to dismantle it to get the window up and use a bit of timber to keep it there.
Any help appreciated
I hear your pain abcent.
I currently have a prototype rear wing that I think will be the best of both worlds. A flat boot look and a rear wing section that rises up with the increase of speed of the car. Just at the moment looking at an adjustment for the tilt of the wing section at full extension. So you can set it almost horizontal while touring or increase the angle for more down force at the track with a push of a button. Let you know how it progresses
Seen a few over the years.
A few memorable ones were;
A mate of mine bought himself a new L34 Bathurst edition Torana and after it was run in we took it for a blast along the M4 at 2.30 one morning. After we had the thing up to about 235 a dark green 68 mustang pulled along side us. My mate stompped it and he stayed with us till the Torrie would go no more then pulled it back a gear and accerated off into the distance. What impressed me the most the thing looked stock.
Man what a ride !
Another friend of mine had an old E30 van with a 5.7L Cleavland in it, man that thing could could mumbo !
Had an opertunity to but a VW Beetle with a 5.7 in it as well but passed it up cause it was pretty unstable at about 140.
A Nissan Bluebird with a Rover 3.5L V8 in it was choice
The list of nutters goes on !
There what I call sleepers( or Q cars in the good old days when the dinosaurs roamed supreem !)
Have you checked that the temperature sensor for the inside of the cabin is working ? Its located behind the little slotted vent on your dash board between the steering colum and your radio/climate contol station. There is also a hose that connects to it as well just make sure its still attached. Unfortunatly you'll have to take out the dash to check.
Hope this helps Dude
Unfortunatly, no the noise doesn't go away when the car warms up. My cars been that way for quite a few months and I've been nursing the car acordingly. If yours does then you might be in luck and its not a gudgen pin problem
Peter;
The noise you've described is exactally the same as mine when I first noticed it ! It gets louder over time unfortunatly. Loudest from about 2200rpm to about 3100 and then stays constant. Ive been nursing mine ready for the conversion cause I use my car as a dayly driver.
Could be the same thing thats wrong with mine. Gudgon pin loose in the piston. Since youve had the car do you know if its over heated at all. If so theres a chance that in dooing so the motor has draged the piston in the bore thus damaging it. Im about to go to a RB30 conversion and I just waiting for it to give up the ghost. Spoke to a very good mechanic and he basically confirmed this with mine
No problems Dude ! I know were your comin' from about shift work. Did it myself for seven years. Just let me know when you want to have a go at it. I'm at Emu Heights at the foot of the mountains.
Catch ya.
It'll cost you time, a bit of brain power and beer(thats for me). Not everyones in it for the money. You'll have to organise a meeting. Taking out the dash is nessary and then I can modifiy the back of the bottons. Theres a bit of fiddling to get the botton positions right. Have you ever taken out the dash ?
See your Private Messages Dude
Dude;
I had the exact problem with mine. I now have a repair method that works and you dont have to buy a complete climate control unit. I'm in Sydney as well so if your interested let me know
Hey Guys and Girls;
I solved this problem with the slimline number plate mounts about a month after I got my R33 typeM. What you need to do is duck into a good mountain bike shop and buy your self two Minora water bottle holders and use the stainless steel mounting brackets to mount the plates. The bracket is exactaly the right width for the number plate holes and the bracket bolts straight onto the type M bar mounting the plate right smackbang in the middle of the center bar section that runs in the middle of the large opening of the bar.
Hope this helps
