  16. i'm not sure, but all of that (child restraints etc.)was done before i bought the car. my car just had to pass an SA roadworthy test, like any other car on our roads. it was a good thing because it now keeps me out of trouble. was fairly simple in the end. i received an exemption from compliance certificate and a sticker to put in the engine bay.
  17. it hasn't. i bought it off someone who personally imported it (ie. he owned it in Japan for more than a year whilst living there). ran into a few troubles getting registered because it was complied in QLD and SA didn't recognise the compliance plate. just had to go through a full inspection to receive an exemption from having a compliance plate. i think at the moment it's the only registered C34 in Aus. there's another C34 and C35 that are track only that i know of.
  18. Hi everyone, I thought i'd share my new daily with you all now that i've entered the world of Nissan straight 6. She's gone through a bit of change since being brought to SA from QLD because of the tight inspection process with owning an imported jap car. All the upgrades that it had (Bride seat, adj coilovers, tinted windows etc) had to come off for it to be registered. It has been through the strict SA regency inspection and came out victorious, albeit with new brake pads, rotors, rocker gaskets, bushes, tyres, exhaust baffle plate, no tinting and standard C34 suspension. So this is what it now has: RB25DET Manual NISMO 2way LSD Bilstein Shocks and lowered springs 3" cat back exhaust Leather interior Electric everything Tinting as per SA standard (ie. glad wrap on the front windows, slight shade on the rear) The plan is just have it as a daily and use the Rx7 for track duties, but the Laurel might also see some smaller events. Pics and Vids: Outside footage at Motorkhana Inside footage at motorkhana At the Motorkhana Interior Helping the Rx7 start RB25DET and 12AT. Two of the best engines  Another of the Rx7 Drift event in the Rx7 Motorkhana in-car Motorkhana on-car Rx7 has: 12AT built by ProMaz, currently 10psi Wolf 3d computer Locked diff Kyb Shocks and Industrial Springs Whiteline bits Carbon fibre door trims Bride Seat Thanks for looking.
  19. that'd be great! although my Laurel has 4 stud wheels, is an R33 5 stud? they would probably notice if it was the wrong stud pattern. i might just make up a design and get it printed onto a sticker. that way i'm set for life! will let you know if i need to borrow one though. thanks
  20. Thanks again Kristian. I was mostly just being curious about the mod plate (which i thought was just from a previous bucket seat installation) at the same time as trying to form some sort of post count to gain access to the PM function! I went through the process of getting the statement of requirements which required me to get a roadworthy inspection and ID check. ID check was fine, roadworthy was good except for those few things. The inspector was polite and even a little apologetic about it, he could see that the car was in very good condition and a few small things had already been replaced (some bushes, hoses, brake pads etc.). I could've gone back on the same day but didn't have time. He assured me that he will pass it straight away with the last few things rectified. One thing that i can't find actually, is the 80kph sticker for the space saver. Do you know where i could get one? Otherwise i'll have to find someone to borrow an already stickered tyre, or buy some sticker paper and make one up!!
  21. Hey everyone. i'm pretty new to the Skyline scene (previously, and still, from the rotary scene) and often keep my eye on these forums. I recently purchased a C34 Laurel, personally imported into QLD. Upon changing the rego to SA and having an ID check, i was informed that the car didn't have a compliance plate, at all! This required me to have a full regency inspection. During the inspection the inspector noticed a Mod Plate (LO3) but had no idea what is was for, and after asking the other staff they didn't know either! While they were doing that i whipped out the iPhone for a quick search and found this: (from www.infrastructure.gov.au) VEHICLE STANDARDS MODIFICATION CODES Vehicle Standards Compliance LO3 - Personal Import Vehicle Compliance After i told him this he said, "well you probably didn't even have to get this inspection done, but you're here now and i don't recognise that mod plate". Then he didn't pass my car because of things like; rubber exhaust mount starting to split, no 80Kp/h sticker on the space saver, exhaust note was 93db and a slightly leaking shock. I had just spent a shitload having the car spotlessly prepared. Has anyone heard of the LO3 mod plate? Is it only recognised in QLD? This whole process has been annoying and i've gone to every length to make sure it wasn't going to be difficult. Cheers
