  1. What do you mean 'drift'? Is this because it only adjusts the stocks ECU's fueling and timing rather than having 'fixed' maps? The stock ECU is still free to do what it wants?!
  2. You need the Infometer touch with a non-OBD (Nissan) connector. Seems about the same price as the ARK MFD but you don't have to hack into the loom and has no buttons - just touch goodness. Much better than buying Defi gauges which are even more wallet raping.
  3. Why is everyone ignoring this key piece of info and jumping to conclusions about coilpacks?! Looks like a short or disconnect of the TPS or it's wiring/harness.
  4. Yeah they are silly money but otoh they have the 'mystique' of being 'GTR Brembos' and rare. I got some.
  5. It's actually brass washers embedded in a gasket that provides the spacing rather than the cam gear cover per se. I've heard you can toast your CAS by not having the correct spacing so it pays to be careful. I have an aftermarket clear cover which has no provision for the OEM washers and gasket, but it provides the (some) spacing instead the way it's designed. I added some thin steel washers myself because the spacing provided by the aftermarket cover was very slightly less than the OEM washers/gasket. I've heard some aftermarket covers provide no spacing though.
  6. Thanks mate, but I was hoping it had some fancy name. Maybe I could invent a better name? How about a ZORG? Catchy eh? So where can I get a Zorg pipe from?
  7. On a R33 GTST? The OEM black one is an eyesore and I was hoping I could get a nicer replacement?
  8. Do you know what the 'speed pulse adjust' function does? It must change the speed the RSM is showing at least? I'm hoping it changes the output to the ECU also???
  9. I know the RSM can be wired up to be in series between the speedo speed output and the ECU. It can be used to de limit the car if you want. My question is does the 'speed pulse adjust' function change the speed signal going on to the ECU, or can it be done with other settings. Or does the RSM just dumbly send the speed signal on to the ECU from the speedo. I know it can de limit so it can't be too dumb! I need to convert my speedo dials to mph (I'm in the UK) but when you do this it seems the ECU receives a 50% slower speed frequency signal...potentially confusing the HICAS, power steering, ABS etc. I was hoping I can recondition the signal with the RSM back to the correct speed.
  10. How did you fix the initial high idle problem? Did you actually solve the problem it or just compensate by screwing the IAC screw in or out more?
  11. If it only does it on an incline then sounds like some sort of fueling problem? Surge or starvation?
  12. What about if you had to drive your pregnant wife to the hospital as she was about to give birth prematurely? Would you slow down for the last 2 mins or sit there outside - idling - whilst she was in obvious distress - "I'm just cooling my turbo down love...I don't need a turbo timer you see?"
  13. I'd change the plugs and have a good look at the old ones. Cheap to do and eliminates the plugs as the problem.
  14. How does it idle normally? What RPM is it idling at? Is it hunting lots? Got an aftermarket BOV?
  15. Hai, So I got a clear cam gear cover made by HPI. It said it bolts on with no mods but I'm worried about the spacing for the CAS. The OEM cover holds a gasket affair with three brass washers which serve to space the CAS. The cover is not made to fit this gasket but instead has bolt hole though the plastic front. Just by eye-balling it I reckon this clear plastic is maybe a mm thinner than the brass washers. So it would make the CAS fit a little closer unless I space it using washers. Can anyone advise? I don't want to bugger the CAS and have an expensive disaster but I need the clear cover to prove my man-hood on cruises.
  16. I'd imagine the top speed is limited by the effective final drive ratio rather than power. No that I'd feel especially safe doing 200 mph in that car LOL.
  17. I'd be interested to see how fast it would go on the salt flats. It's got enough torque to pull a stonehenge megolith up a mountain. Anyway it must be mad to drive because of the lack of grip, brakes, and total mechanicalness of it...that and the insane torque.
  18. A 1930 Bentley chasis (modified) with a 42 L V12 Packard engine (supercharged) from a WW2 Motor Torpedo boat. Cool video and story on this link.
  19. I'd recommend a torque wrench to make up the spark-plugs. They don't cost that much compared with a stripped thread.

  22. There is a lot of shit on ebay that is for sure. I'd think twice about precision or critical parts. Things like rads maybe ok but dodgy manifolds etc I dunno.
  23. That's a bit dishonest Marc. A Vecra VXR is a family car with a turbo engine, but I wouldn't characterise a GTST as that. I'd call it a de-tuned touring car which may or may not be available in saloon format. It's only a family car in the sense that in is not say mid-engined etc. Nissan never marketed it as a family car really, the NA saloon versions were kind of inferior after-thoughts. Even the RWD format goes against the grain of jelly mold family saloons, there is NO reason to go RWD if you are just making family cars.
