  1. No that is all wrong, a Silvia could NEVER be considered a hairdressers car. Granted it is not as 'tough' as a Skyline but there is nothing 'fancy' or 'show' about a Silvia...it's like a smaller Skyline basically. A Boxster may be a 'proper car' but it is also the cheapest and most accessible Porsche, so it's a girls Porsche . Maybe a Hairdresser that owns a chain or something would own one. I would put money on male Boxster owners being disproportionately ghey.
  2. Some knobs are so big you'll need both hands to tackle them.
  3. A Porsche Boxster is a hairdressers car. Too many Dickheads driving them also. Estate agents, recruitment consultant type w@nkers.
  4. Get a manual. An Auto-box is heresy. You can even get a thinner/smaller knob if your hands can't grasp a big one...you know being a women with smaller hands.
  5. Swill salt water around your mouth every few hours. Works. Excel 2007 sucks. WTF have they done to excel. I spent an hour trying to 'save as' today...was feeling like smashing my computer.
  6. I don't mean like a Ferrari or something....I mean same sort of budget. It would be too easy to say a Silvia so that is why I say 'if you weren't allowed a Nissan'. I'd be tempted to say an Evo VI or something but I've gone off them lately...they are a bit too 'try hard'. Rexs are just a no-no. S2000's have a great engine but are ghey in the final analysis (IMHO). Falcon-doors are too common and boat like despite awesome power potentially. Could never get a FWD hatch like a civic... . Hatches are for old people going shopping. I like Supras. MR2's are a bit ghey...lack road presence. If I was gonna get a euro car it would be a Merc or Beamer, but the line between hairdressery euro car and 'cool' euro car is dangerously narrow, plus they COST. So yeah I'd probably get a Supra.
  7. It's that damn Hamburglar.
  8. I thought that was a reserve price?
  9. This is the list I got emailed.
  10. Sounds like my situation. I brought a white R33 40th anniversary a couple of months ago...next thing I knew I'd dropped ~10k onto it. Didn't plan to er do that. Glad I did though. You may be surprised to know I'm 31 and it's only the 2nd car I've owned. Yeah maybe I'm not very mature but to me Skylines have a certain mystique having grown up in the 90's....they were a VERY rare sight in the UK...very cool/tough and 'unobtainable'...exotic. I guess that is why I bought one to maybe recapture some part of my youth. LOL. Mid-life crisis at 31? I've gone through a turbulent time lately with injuries and stuff putting my 'normal life' on hold - my whole 'life' is normally based around sport/gym etc - so maybe that explains it? Wish I'd had one back in the 90's. I was 19 when my car was made. At that age my peers were lusting after XR3i's, XT2's etc..much different than here in Oz where V8's rule. Insurance is mega-expensive in the UK also. I'm normally fairly frugal with cash and stuff hence why I've never splashed out on an expensive car before. Also I've been working here there and everywhere all over the world so didn't have much need. Ah well I've saved a fair bit up (over the years) so I'll put a bit more cash into my car and what the hell? Have a bit of fun. I can't see myself getting rid of it soon. I'd rather die than drive a Camry or something. LOL.
  11. My car cover blew off last night...quite embarrassing. Now it's secured with two ropes. The R33 is slightly too big for the medium sized cover and way too small for the large cover. So with the medium sized cover 'cos it's not stretched over the car 100%, a bit of wind will get under it and dislodge it on one end, then the whole thing slides off. Need to get a flat with a car port or buy a proper house with a garage etc. See lots of bunky looking cars around Perth damaged by UV. Don't want my car being like that.
  12. Could be any number of ways in this day and age of electronic information, internet etc. Highly possible scammers have someone at lower levels in a bank etc.
  13. No way. Why does the bank need you to vouch for your ID when they are just telling you your card is canceled?
  14. Yeah that's a good lesson - don't give personal details out to people who 'call you'. My old insurance company call me a couple of weeks ago to ask me why I wasn't renewing my insurance w/ them. I said it was none of their business and then they asked me for my D.O.B, address blah blah to cancel?! my old insurance. Goodbye I said and hung up. Lot of people got done recently w/ a compromised ETPOS machine at McDonalds. Good thread on Perth Street Bikes about it
  15. Yeah chicks in high performance cars exude a kind of mystique. Works for me.
  16. A rear wiper is something you think is pointless until it's pissing down or misty/dark and you need to reverse or something. lol Glad my 40th anniversary 33 has one.
  17. Is it me or is the whole 'aussie car' thing just about rwkw 'dick measuring'? I'm not saying they are bad just 'one dimensional'? Does that make sense?
  18. Remember it's only gay if your balls touch...until then it's just two 'mates' messing about.
  19. er...how would you know what that sounds like?
  20. Sure but Skylines are great 'bang for buck' packages. Not let down in any real areas or compromised, you have a superb engine, strong transmission, decent balance and handling, reliability, room for people in the back and a bit of space in the trunk. Add to that there are loads of mods available and everything about the cars is 'well known'. Sure there are faster and there are better handling, but you will have to pay ALOT for something significantly better at both and that will probably cost $$ to run. Sure you could buy a V8 but then it would be heavy and crap in the corners, or a nimble little two seater which probably wouldn't have room for a briefcase in the trunk and people would think you are a hairdresser. Plus also Skylines have a tough 'aura'.
  21. For a 4 banger they sound ok I think so long as some muffling is present.
  22. Good post. Welcome to the forum. An alternative to a 'sporty' WRX/Evo could also be a Skyline GTST or something. Still get that smooth RB, and with a few mods they are not slow.
  23. LOL. Next thing it will have been a GTR w/ a WRX bodykit. LOL
  24. Power is nothing w/out control (and reliability).
