  1. Rims over 18", especially when they have those 'elastic band' tyres. Leave that to the 'pimped up' SUV's. Local rims such as Incubus. Fcuking disgusting, even on Commodores they look SO bad. I'd pay to NOT use them. Rims with kerb rash. De-spoilered 33's; leave the 'smoothed' look to Mexicans.
  2. Could have been that Skyline that crashed in the tunnel?
  3. 2 bikes blew past me in the tunnel today. So fcuking loud...HURT my ears even with the windows up. May have been Harleys or Harley clones. Probably they were doing 120 km/hr or so and weaving in and out of traffic. Impressive speeds for Harleys!
  4. I spotted an SL500 in one of the car parks in South Perth today. 90's I am guessing? Looked ok. Makes 322 bhp according to wiki w/ a 5 lt V8. f**king A! /f**k me. I'm reading the wiki page on the SL Class. Some of the high end ones do 0-100 km/hr in the high 4's straight from the factory. Makes by humble GTST look agricultural in comparison. So much for hairdressers cars! lol
  5. Yep fair point. We all have to grow up eventually? lol
  6. Can you change me to Tony de Wonderful? Thanks?
  7. Nah 2 door (or 3 door as they say in the UK) is associated with budget hatches or things like Ford escorts. The 2 door would be cheaper than the 4 door and for that the kids would have a awkward time getting in and out. These are cheap utility cars designed to move 4 people about in. OTOH a coupe is sports orientated and the seats in the back are kind of there as an afterthought - in case you need them. The coupe is better to cruise about in, looks cooler....nice big window to wind down, rest yer arm on...big door so not cramped to get in and out of if you have the seat way back a la cruise mode.
  8. Look you are on here (a Skyline forum) evangelizing the new WRX. I'm glad you like it, the driver aids, the AWD... Personally I can't see the point in a dick measuring contest between the new WRX and the R33 (or whatever)...a pointless exercise. Personally also I don't like the look of it...and I'm not unique in taking that view...many of its harshest critics seem to be owners of the 1st and 2nd gen models. Just saying.
  9. If you are looking to have your decision to go for the WRX validated by this forum you are in the wrong place. I think AWD is great technology....it enables less skilled drivers to take corners at speeds beyond their ability in a RWD. /yeah the new Impreza looks like a tall Ford Focus.
  10. Naturally aspirated. (no turbo)
  11. You need to realize that a coupe is intrinsically cooler than a 4 door. Don't confuse a coupe with a 2 door. A 2 door is a 4 door made to be cheaper. Maybe your 'rents thing you are too young for a turbo, since your post implies your R33 is N/A?
  12. They have been used as F1 safety cars. How many hairdressers you know who drive 'em?
  13. Merc SLK's are rather nice. Tend to see hot and sophisticated women driving them for some reason.
  14. Skyline model = '97 R33 GTST Wheel diameter = 17 Wheel width =8s, 9s Wheel offset =+40 +40 Tyre size = 235/45 Modifications to fit = None Fit good. May consider 10mm or 20mm spacers at some point after I lower it a bit. May go for a lower profile tyre also.,
  15. So you're asian then? Good car, excellent engine even if the V-TEC is not your thing. Yep it does have that whole 'MX-5 hairdressery thing' going on I agree unfortunately. Not really a 'tough' street car by any measure. I'd rather drive an S14/15 even.
  16. Yeah if you put incubus rims on it, otherwise I must vigorously disagree!
  17. Enkei GTC-01's on my R33. /Not great pixxor I know. //Car needs lowering.
  18. I thought in another thread you said they (stretched tyres) are more likely to roll off and stuff? /may have been someone else.
  19. I wonder if a detector is more trouble than it's worth? If a Cop stops you it may be the difference between a trip to the pits or being let off for this or that mod?
  20. Yeah Drivers subconsciously tensing up and focusing too much on the red light camera is BAD. Tunnel vision. It will cause more accidents. We're better drivers when we are not over-thinking...just doing it intuitively and naturally.
  21. I'll have to try it out. Probably find a cop w/ a radar gun when I go up there now. Not that I would entertain the notion of breaching our wonderful and wise speed limits of course!
  22. He said he was doing 80 km/hr. That's probably $150 and 2 demerits right? Everyone does speed through there though... Makes that everywhere. Today I drove Graham farmer - tunnel - orrong road. If I sit on the 80 km/hr limit on the farmer literally 50% of cars are going past me. It's embarrassing. I had a TRUCK overtake me today, then a Nissan Micra
  23. 'Cos it shows a disregards for tidiness and order. Like pissing in the sink or something. Leave the parking on lawns to the 'first Australian' community.
  24. Can you get diesel rotaries?
