hey all, I thought iI would pop this up here for all you to ponder. its got me stumped.
I have a 32 gtst, which occasionally the left side headlight wont work. OK sounds like a loose wire or bad earth.
Except when you turn the headlights on and off again it works the second time.
only thing i can think of is maby dirty contacts in the switch?
it has also done it when you turn the high beam off, not very often but it has done it.
any ideas of what to look at and what to try?
cheers jamie
Nissans use a 4 circuit headlamp switch (high low right left)therefore 4 contacts are used.More than likely you will have a dirty connection on one ,easy fix fine wet and dry paper and retension contact

YOU CHAMPION!! Thanks mate.
I revoke what i said in the above. I just went out there, completly removed all wires including H/U and wiring loom put another fuse in there and IT WORKED !
i see where i went wrong. Illumination wire was what killed it.
NO MORE ASSUMPTIONS. I should have checked the wiring diagram to begin with.
Cheers to all who have added comments.
Lesson Learnt!
No worries glad to help as i`m an Auto Electrician..lol

Most CD/Head Unit have 3 wires for power supply,
1 Yellow Battery Positive
2 Red Ignition/Acc
3 Black Earth
More than likely the black wire from the head unit has been connected to the dash illumation wire.Cut this wire replace fuse, lights should work and head unit will as it still gets an earth via the aerial.Connect the black wire directly to earth.

Hi guys, dropping in from 300zx forum.... I don't post here alot but please feel free to check me out on aus300zx.com.
I am in the process of buying a business and am looking for staff. As the business operates seven days I am looking for casual and full time staff who are available for training and work as of November.
Mobile battery testing/fitting in the Hornsby area for a well known Road Service provider. The job would suit a "car" person who is able to work independantly and is available to work a flexible roster. You must be well presented, honest, and reliable.
All training (including MVRIA license) and equipment is provided and no formal qualifications are needed. That said a hands on interest in cars is a must.
Please shoot me a PM if this sounds likle you, or post any general questions in this thread.
Good money and steady, flexible work for the right person.
Hi Robert,
Please pm me your email address as I can`t pm because of limited posts.
Thanks
Brendon.

There are 3 things that blow globes
1. Over charging Alternator
2. Poor quality globes
3. Vibration
Often with overcharging the blown fillament will be stuck to the inside of the glass.
