For several years now I've been heavily involved in "The Board Meeting" a local charity that raises money for severely disabled Coast kids. Our main fundraising event for the year is this Saturday, November 7. After the surf comp we are holding an After-party, everyone will be heading over to the Kawana Surf Club ! Midday to 1pm: Live music (after trophy presos and auction so get your mates down there!). There will be burgers and cheap eats on sale. FOOTWEAR MUST BE WORN or you will not be allowed entry as it is a licensed premises. Thongs (for your feet!) are fine but you must have some form of footwear on. 1.20pm swimwear fashion parade. Girls and guys from the Surf Lifesavers Club parading Hive Swimwear. 1.30pm surf memorabilia auction. http://www.theboardmeeting.org/AuctionList-133.aspx is the list so far. Heaps of great stuff for girls and girls, surfers and non-surfers. 3pm (ish): Auction finishes and more live music. As a member of the committee I can promise you every cent raised goes directly to the beneficiaries who are hand-picked by us using very strict criteria.
