  1. I have been in a similar situation. Had a 1990 BMW 535is. Was rear ended and pushed into another car. Luckily the person that hit me was insured. As soon as i got home from the accident i got a quote from just car (his Insurer) for the market value of the car which was $12400. So if they tried to screw me with a pay out i could say "well you were prepared to cover my car for $12400, why are you trying to give me $xxxx". So i went and got an assessment from a smash repairer. They said the cost of the repair was more than what it's worth. They sent out the assesor who confirmed this (bent chassis rail). They ended up giving me $11300 as they let me keep the car so they subtracted the scarp value $1100. I then sold the wreck on ebay for $2800. I only paid $6500 for the car. The car was quite rare and i do miss it but i was compensated for it. So hopefully you will be able to use this situation to your advantage and come out on top.
  2. I have a 92 gtst and a 87 e30 325e. For what you pay a r32 gtst is a good unit, good brakes and suspension and the 2lt turbo is good for daily driving. It is definately a modern car compared to a e30. But i still love the e30 for its retro cool and creature comforts, sunroof, leather, cruise control and on board computer etc.
  3. Spotted a gun metal r32 gtst on canterbury rd bankstown, silver s1 r33 gtst involved in a bingle on homebush bay drive south bound and Black r33 with the number plates HOTTEE south bound on ryde road.
  4. I have a similiar situation. I have a 1992 R32 gtst and the lists it as a R33. I guess these things just happen. Probably more common with imports.
  5. I just bought tie rods and tie rod ends from just jap. The tie rods are much longer and the thicker than standard, much more heavy duty. The tie rod ends i got are rose jointed and are alot longer and allow for more adjust ment. The were out of 32 rod ends so i got s14 ones and the fit the thread fine. Hope this helps

  20. Well i thought i would post up some pics of my recently purchased 92 gtst type m. Bought it on tusesday and have only been able to get under it today. It's been looked after pretty and has alot of history. Im the second owner in australia. Though it does need some work. New caster bushes, couple lights(indicator and reverse), new steering wheel gear knob and gear selector and handbrake boots etc etc. Also needs a bit of paint on the roof and sideskirts but overall its pretty good. I plan to tidy it up at the moment and add intercooler kit and power fc and the associated upgrades down the line. I like the fact that the car is basicly stock, the only mods it has are: Mild steel turbo back exhaust with a catco catalytic converter and xforce rear muffler, turbosmart blow off valve, whiteline strut brace, k&n pod, mu secret 6000k HIDs, 17inch lenso GT-6's with kumho tyres. Cheers
