the guy that my mate was talking to said it would be dyno tuned etc and it would only cut in when the pedal is flat to the floor and that he could bring back the limiter and stuff like that so he doesnt red line the motor while the NOS is activated, whilst also having a button to press when you want to arm it and disarm it.. so you could hav it disarmed and floor it and the nos wont cut in unless you have pressed the armed button. the kit was rated for 75 - 250 hp shot but the guy said would probably start off with 75 and if the car handles it well can be tuned up to 100 shot. the price for the kit wa $1100 and install depended on how much he wanted it hidden etc but as a general rule he said 500 - 600 bucks for install.. but more if he wanted to hide the bottle etc. Also anyone know as a general guide how long these last STREET AND TRACK use (as different measures) without being to 'button happy' on the streets how long should it last my mate? will there be any way to tell that the car is NOS powered from the outside EG; the car's not gonna blow some massive need for speed flame out the back of the exhaust?? (bit dramatic but you get the idea..) like no smoke or anything when the nos cuts in? he is really cautious aobout this and he does hav a reasonably fast car but its pretty much stock and it will mainly be used for just qtr miles etc with the occasional squirt on teh streets i spose no one can say they wont - when we all know they will -

Hey guys im not sure if im in the right section but here goes my question; My mate has an R34 NON TURBO same as me and he got some quotes on a NOS kit installation and setup... he wanted me to ask a few questions on his behalf as he doenst have access to a computer at the moment 1- worth it?? Turbo is out of the question its either NOS or nothing... 2- risks involved?? other than the obvious illegalities. 3- what sort of improvments can he expect?? 4- what sort of engine difficulties can he incur using nos on a non turbo engine with stock internals?? and yeah thats about it... any other people's 2c would be greatly appreciated! cheers

Getting The Best Out Of Your N/a Rb25de
noely1 replied to heapsgood's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
get a good set of lightweight rims + good tyres (dont waste money on shitty tyres) go get good ones!! get a set of coilovers + whiteline sway bars etc etc simple 2.5" catback exhaust with a nice muffler (dont go cheap on teh muffler) + extractors if u really want but if ur going to turbo it dont as turbo's dont use extractors... then jus get the basics, tinting, some nice speakers maybe and jus save save save for a turbo car/turbo your own car -

umm yeah well when i first took it to the exhaust shop to get it all looked at.. there was black residue all around the connection of the cat etc but it didnt seem to be making any noise from that section at all when he put the stethoscope to it... but then i got a hi-flow cat in that same day so everything was taken off and tightened again so im pretty sure it isnt the flange or around the cat area... and it was done at a reputable exhaust shop with a high rep. and nah i havent looked for holes in the floor.. but i will do never thought of that since i did get it converted to a manual a month or so ago and some modifications were done to fit my clutch pedal, i believe its only started doing it after all this work was done... but anyway.. its going down this arvo to get looked at hopefully and i'll get all of these things checked out but yeah im still leanin toward my extractors now... i have been wanting a set from DKNE so maybe here's my excuse cheers
-
okay illl get the stock extractors looked at... i checked the air box today aswell and cant see/hear anything out of the ordinary... so maybe it is my extractors.. cheers
-
ummm i dont have the bits as i just converted my 4dr r34 into a manual... but i picked up a GTST r33 box for 1200 man.. just so you know what price range your looking at... all up cost me just over $2000 in parts with a h/duty clutch aswell...

Hey guys ive recently noticed that right under where i sit in the drivers seat, whenever in gear (manual transmission) and in hi revs (i.e. 4000rpm +) my car has this really loud sucking noise.. or as if thers a massive hole in the exhaus system and air is jus gushing out of it... it has lost top end power as well... i got a new cat fitted today - didnt fix the problem - i can still hear it occassionally... and the guys had it on the hoist and listened through a stethoscope (sp) on every joint, gasket and bit of exhaust and couldnt find any faults... before and after the cat being fitted.. just wondering what this could be?? im under the impression the stock extractors wouldnt have anything wrong with them.. they generally dont get holes in them do they?? that is one thing they couldnt check at the time because stuff was in the road so i just said dont worry about it... anyway if anyone has a solution/suggestion would be much appreciated! Cheers

Will An R33 Cat Back Exhaust Fit R34?
noely1 replied to daxter's topic in Engines & Forced Induction

nah my car was done out of hours hasnt been to the shop at all, it wasnt done on the books and im not sure if i should say any names jus incase anyone gets in trouble.. Chris - if i brought it to your shop how much would you guys charge to just go over it and re-tune all the amps just to make sure everything is setup right? Also have a look at that red light i was referring to? Crazy mofo - nah mate i havent tinkered with any of it... dont know much about amplifier settings etc so not really keen on doing that sorta stuff... spose ill give it a few weeks to bed in and see if im happier than...

hey guys just got a mate (who works in an install shop) to fit some sound system and security systems to my car... few problems; A- Since he has installed the security system on my R34 (simple immobiliser and central locking just for the time being til i get more money up) a red light is flashing on the dash constantly its only half illuminated so i cant really make out the word but it looks like the word "jag" or something?? B- I bought (what i thought) were very very good speakers... $450 Hertz splits for the fronts and $300ish Hertz rears running off a focal 400w 4ch amplifier also a Polk subwoofer and just a basic 250w clarion amplifier to run that.. my problem is that the speakers arent loud at all.. they sound like they have jus treble no bass at all and the bass (from the woofer) hits some notes and the car just goes crazy and then the next note will just be flat.... i expected more from this... he said i need to give time for the speakers to "bed" in so is this just my problem or does the amps neeed to be tinkered with?? Cheers
