hmmm i'd probably still get them fault codes checked out... weird!!
-
yeah my rocker cover gasket seals were leakin aswell
-
yeah man definatley something wrong.. as long as that engine light come on then you shouldnt have much problem with finding out what it exactly is if you can read the fault codes properly... let us know when u get the fault codes mate
-
ummm probably about 500-600 for both i think... i think its about 400-500 for timing belt and couple of hundred for the seals... but dont hold it to me if im wrong
-
mine does the same man... i cant remember how but some guy in brisbane here who specialises in skylines performance etc fixed his and i asked him to fix mine.. he did say wat it was but i cant remember.. sorry mate but it is only a sensor stuffin up in behind there

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...de-t266512.html thers a thread on how to check for fault codes mate
-
umm usually if a code has been loggeed the check engine light will come on... there are some threads on here on how to check fault codes urselfff if your not to handy with that sort of stuff (its preety straight forward) the hardest bit is reading the codes lol... u cud get nissan to scan it for you and any fault codes that are logged will be found and the u can find a guide as to what each code number means somewhere on here... for example code 21 is ignition circuit i think (just as an example) have a search around these threads but as i said usually if thers a fault code... the check engine light will come on man
-
maybe check for fault codes?? might even just be a solenoid or somethingggg?
-
hmmm its not misfiring or breaking down at all?? sounding like a wrx engine or nething...?? cause mine did that and it was my spark plugs and coilpacks.. but urs seems to be different to mine

hey guys my car is in the shop atm to get the timing belt done (car has 93XXX) klms on it... might aswell get it done befor 100 thousand while i hav the money... the mechanic rang up and said after taking the front of my engine apart he has found that the cam seals are leaking... now i havent flogged the car at alll and i bought it with 77XXX klms on it... wat would cause the cam seals to leak so early?? or is it uncommon for them to leak oil this early?? i was under the impression i would only get cam seal leaks 200 thousand k's plusss moreee lol

How Much For Coilovers?
noely1 replied to noely1's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeahh all i kno is that he said they were TEIN SuperStreets and reckons that its impossible to find them for cheaper as these are teh "real deal" and he's not rippin me off etc he swears thats wat he gets them for cost price and shit like that.. he jus kept saying these ones im getting are the real deal.. im like mm righto -
lol its funny for everyone who knows that this is a really stupid thing to do but dont worry man when i first got into skylines and my P's i wanted to do the same thing but i did my research first and didnt ask.. i looked at responces on other threads... but yeah man i didnt see a problem with it before i got my p's.. anyway man cant really help ya with putting it back in.. jus thought i would shame myself with you its cool to make mistakes bro forget everyone else.. laaaaater

hmm then probably go S13 if you dont wanna spend much on a car that u might damage... 180's im not sure how much they are non turbo but they're more expensive than S13's im pretty sure. s13's are sick for learning to drift in.. my brother started off wit that car and loved the silvias so much has owned a silvia ever since.. so yeah go S13 man watching my brother learn to become wat he is now he has said so many times that the S13 was a perfect choice for learning in is an S14 out of the price range? as S14's are a better choice as they are much easier to control and are less prone to understeer especially in the low end power ranges. they alos hav a huge aftermarket with heaps of availabilty - advice from my brother.. something to keep in mind maybe?
-
if you want the drift and jap scene cars then i'd go an R34/33/32 all model skylines are good (never had experience with 31's) if you want something different to say a clean 33... myabe a supra or FTO? I nearly got an FTO alright cars, good power just didnt want a FWD so you cant drift in them... personally if you dont have the money for a N/A 34 then get a R33... manual. Quick cars, skids like theres no tomorrow and relaly easy to work on whilst being reliable! Probably pick a nice clean one up with reasonable k's for 10k mark...

How Much For Coilovers?

mmm thought so thank you mate! -
Hey guys looking at getting some TEIN coilovers on my R34.... I've consulted my mechanic (who specilizes in skylines and imports) and he reckons that the cheapest TEIN set fitted and everything is $3,000 My question is (considering this isnt my field of expertees) does this sound like a fair price or am i getting ripped? Cheers
-
okay cool thanks everyone... has really put alot of stress off my mind haha how much is too much for a set of splitfires? i see them on ebay for $595 (+postage obviously) then i ask my mechanic who specializes in imports and skylines to be exact and he said around $700? are the ones off ebay the real deal??
-
ahh okay i see makes sense.. would this also cause my car to sometimes be hard to start? like i'd go to start it and it would jus kick over then clonk out then i'd hav to start it again and it would get really low revs and almost stall then the revs will all of a sudden pick up and she'll be fine??
-
ahh yeah i got my car with 77XXX klms now has 92XXX klms so i spose they need changing... would this also be causing the car to feel as if its going to stall and shake about while im sitting in neutral/stopped?? and yeah it doesnt do it when its cold.. its after it heats up a bit.. thanks
