  2. Hey guys, i know this is a skyline forum but im actually looking at getting rid of my R34 and getting a FTO... just wondering what is the BHP of the tiptronic 34's? As i know the FTO's gpx model has 200bhp.. anyone had any experience with FTO's?? In particular the tiptronic models?? Would the tiptronic FTO beat the tiptronic R34?? Theres a few questions for someone to answer cheers

Hey guys a few months ago i was stopped at lights in my N/A R34 and the lights went green and for some reason i happened to look down and my A/T light was on... car had no power at all i cant remember what its called but it was in fail safe mode or limp mode i think you guys may call it??.. (stuck in 3rd) anyway i turned my car off and turned it back on the lgith flashed for about 10 seconds then went out and my car was fine afterward... i kept driving for a few weeks.. and it did it again one day when i pulled up to pick up a friend i went to go again and suddenly it was in limp mode again.... again turned it off and on again light flashed for 10 or so seconds and it drove fine again. the car may of done it a few more times but everytime it did it, the car would go back to normal.. just hte other day i was driving and it happened again.. i turned it off and turned it back on this time it stayed stuck in limp mode but the light was gone... so now it wont go out of this limp mode but the light flashed for 10 seconds or so everytime i start up then goes out as usual... but the car has remained in limp mode ever since last tuesday i think it was.. what do u guys reckon it could be? the car is at the mechanics at the moment but they're on holidays until the 4th of january.. so its sitll playing on my mind it wasn't looked at before they went on holidays so im jus really keen to know what the possibilities could be?? sorry about the long post.. hopefully i didnt lose anyone.. cheers guys
  6. Sorry guys one more question... I've found Splitfire Coilpacks but they say nothing about the N/A Neo RB25 engine... they're all for the GTT 34 just wondering will the turbo ones still fit?

  8. Also if anyone knows anything about injectors as an upgrade.. how much/what kind am i looking for? this is my first jap car... ive gone from commodores to imports so yeah im only just learning sorry guys
  9. ohok cool thanks man.. umm you wouldnt know a site i could go to where i could buy them at all?? so if they arent for any power gains... do they just last longer or what are some of the advantages of having them? while im there what are some other good combinations to go with this mod? i've already got a pod heat shielded etc... also one other question... would i notice any difference if i upgraded my cat to hi-flow? i only have stock piping.. but got the muffler and pod on there... i'll eventually get custom mandrel cat back piping would it make a difference going to a hi-flow cat aswell?
  10. How much would these set me back for an N/A r34 ?? Also what sort of differences should i notice if i do get them? What other mod's would go well in addition to the coilpacks? (what kind of spark plugs etc etc.) Cheers guys

Hey guys jsut a quick question... in my r34 skyline the climate control can be set to lets say 18 degrees (coldest) and i can put it up to 18.5 degrees and it'll be just hot air coming out (just exactly as if i have it on 32 degrees) but while at 18 degrees its freeezing cold?? just wondering what the issue is? Like it obviously shouldnt be the straight heater on at 18.5 degrees

    Hey guys just got done the other night doing 78 in 60 zone... copper didnt write the last digit of my driver licence number on the yellow infringement notice just wondering if it still counts or wat?? cheers
  15. yeah i went from owning a modded commodore to now a basic R34 skyline.. and every1 wants to freakin drag!!! but as said above mainly the commos and p platers... its really annoying lol occasionally ill see another jap car that wants to put it down but its not as common as the commo's/common p platers

  18. well i tested the theory out tonight with mates.. and its definatley only happening when i hav the air con fan switched on.. with it off it doesnt do the squeak but when its on i can sit ther rev it up and at about 4500 - 5000 rpm it will squeak from teh front...
  19. Yes the previous owner said he had changed the timing belt in it prior to selling it to me... So what does it need doing to the belt? Just take it to a mechanic and ask them to do what?
  20. ok so ive put it down to when i have my climate control on (aircon or heater etc) then the squeak is very loud even if i just rev it in neutral or park also when im driving... when i have climate control off it hasnt done it lately??
  21. Hey guys was cruisin round the city in Brisbane tonight with some of the boys and was stopped at a set of lights.. Lights went green and i put my foot down to go and it jus prety much sat there looked down and my A/T light was on... felt like the car was constantly stuck in top gear just had no power wud hav it flat to the floor trying to hit 50klm's... car was in tiptronic mode at the time and the display showed it was in 1st gear and i shifted to second third fourth etc didnt make any difference jus kept at the same speed and revs wud not climb... anyway got it to a servo in time took like 10mins for a 5min drive lol stopped the car... started her again the A/T light didnt go out straight away it sat there flashing a few times then went out... so i stopped it and started again the A/T light went out as per usual this time.. I told my mates to get out of the car and check for any fluids ther was no leaks or nething so i started her once again and yet again the light went out as per usual so i risked it and drove it down the road for a little test and it shifted perfect didnt miss a beat... what do you reckon just a computer malfunction or should i be worried?? Car is 1998 R34 (auto) 4dr... done like 80 XXX klms only

  23. yeah ok so i have been thinking of a manual conversion i was wondering if any1 knew if it was really taht hard or is it relativley easy? and how much would this cost approx?? any1 know any links to some CAI and pod setups? or how much would these cost?? yeah im getting hi flow cat into a 2.5" or 2 and a quarter " piping with the six inch muffler would this be ok if i ran extractors when i got the money for a set of extractors or would i be better off going 3" back ? im not really fussed about the noise it'll make i mean any exhaust on a skyline or Jap motor sounds great in my view...

Hey guys have a 4dr tiptronic 34 and just wondered what could give me a little better response and pick up aswell as some acceleration and how much would i be looking at for whatever part you recommend?? also would a CAI with a pod help much or not? i kno there is a big debate bout this... but i really jus want a simple answer im confused on this topic would it help or not? and how much?? possible links?? cheers guys
