The noise is normal, when i had my old 33 it use to make the same, even when i went to sell it the guy looking at it thought it was the disc brakes scraping or something lol he had no idea, does your mate have the stock bov? cause i noticed id get a flutter with a aftermarket bov an k&n pod as well.

I had one repainted for $110 professional job by panel beater/ spray painter, dont know why would you would bother stuffing around buying a gun etc ?

Why dont you just get a crappy old speaker and test it, sure it will probably blow it up but least you know if its getting a signal or not?
