  1. nice to hear you switched your choice to the jl's im assuming being the 75rms ones you went with the C5's , they are crystal clear and sound fantastic , and nice choice to keep the amps jl also ... aslong as your happy with the setup you will have many hours of happy listening , hope all goes well with the setup and may you have many hours of listening pleasure in your car ...
  2. no worries then , keep up the good work
  3. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_c...sp?Q=1&I=22 this is a diagram of how to wire the sub at 1ohm or 4ohm configuration .. i would wire the sub in 4ohm configuration then bridge the 2 channels together so you dont overload the amp and it will run the sub , tune it from no gain on the amp with the headunit to full listening vol then adjust your amp power till the sub distorts then turn it back till its smooth , set the lowpass filter on the amp firstly b4 you do anything , if the amp has an adjustable LP frequency set that to about 80 or a little less pending your tastes and go from there ....... hope that helps cheers festa
  4. audioline are the cheapest entry level speakers you can buy besides DNA lol , if you can suffer without the sounds at all id save the money and you will get your better ones sooner , but if you have to get something then go ahead but dont expect anything great from them , in saying that some sound is better than no sound ;P
  5. the gear selected is a good choice , i personally would change the speakers for JL items also and keep it all the one brand like that , i can say this as i was a caraudio salesman for JB hifi in my region and what you have listed are great items but i like the JL splits and coax better , im not knocking kicker at all but you did ask lol , do you really need a Deck with that many options ?? will you run the ipod and use the blutooth ?? if not drop a few levels but keep the front/rear/sub outputs in whatever deck you go with , i wont comment about the price as i know what the installation prices are and for legal reasons i wont post on here anything like that , PM me if you wanna chat some more about your choices if you think you need to , other wise if your happy to pay what they are asking you will have a nice sounding system specially with the deadening for the doors
  6. what is the RMS of the sub ? is it single 4ohm voice coil ? ( 1 speaker terminal ) i would suggest a mono block amp (single channel) for running any sub unless the budget cant stretch that far then a descent 2 channel bridged to run 1 channel would do the trick , you said 4 channel would basically be a waste and your right there .. when i get the info i asked i might be able to suggest an amp then cheers Festa
  7. jester i have added you to my msn mate , talk to you soon ,always interested in see what other ppl have layin round haha
  8. hey jason , just got back on the site after not having the net for a little , anyways yeah i will need help when wiring up the haltech so any help would be great , i have a vl wiring loom with the computer harness already wired into it , has injector clips ready to push onto them and i think the o2 sensor with it also , im not sure if i hav to get rid of the origional computer and just use this but im sure you might be able to help with this also , [email protected] is my msn if you wanna add me so we can chat on there cheers sean
  9. mud to be honest i wasnt going to paint it anything flash , just rub back the clear coat and redo that and straighten panels and just get it looking as "normal" as i could so yeah the thought for sleepa is there as i dont wanna advertise to the boys in blue that i have something fun to drive ya know lol quick33 i might be selling myself short but im also looking at the fact i have an N/A motor and dont wanna wring its neck just yet , if i get a bigger power rating than i'm quoting that would be awesome , the kit i have is a no brand setup not a garret or anything like that but hell when its finished i know it will be a hell of a ride specially with a locked diff and the rain we get here hmmm , i dont thinkill drive it in the wet as ill loose the little bit of plastic in my wallet for sure as im a wet drifter at heart lmao , im from darwin and we had wet or dry conditions so the learning was there for wet drifting , it was a good place to start as i have never driven anything with power besides he V8 holden when i was 17 hehe anyways guys thanks for the welcome to the site and hope to talk to a few more of you again soon cheers festa
  10. just a couple pics of the car , i know shes a little sad but everythings a work in progress , starts first keyturn so dont let the paint fool you ok hehe

  13. hi there guys and girls , im new to the site but not new to the R31 as i have owned mine for 7yrs or so now , its not in th best shape but its rd worthy and just needs some TLC and $$ thrown at it ... A work in progress you might say lmao INFO: 89 Series 3 Sillo Sedan 5 spd manual Mini spool in the diff 3.89 ratio gearset Lowered KING SPRINGS front and rear 15" mags from a nissan silvia which bolted on no worries as i was sick of the ugly lookin stndrd skyline wheels lol Pod filter and modified induction system with extractors and a full 3" mandrel bent mild steel exhaust with highflow cat and cannon in the rear , mot a muffler of hotdog insite and the growl is quite prominent lol 15.79 is the ET at the drags on a 500k+ motor thats not too bad i guess with 2 gears of wheel spin Looking at putting in a turbo N/A motor that i am collecting the parts for as we speak , so far i have the to4e turbo , highmount stainless manifold , 50mm wastegate and a haltech E6X EMS , need to get the injectors/fmic/head gasket and the various hoses and fittings to do the job , i have a spare motor that i am going to put the bits and pieces on b4 i swap it into the car , hoping to get 750cc injectors and run 14lb boost and i would like a modest 300hp at the rear wheels which shoud make for 13sec ET at the drags .... anyhow here is the link to my car if you wanna have a look , as i said shes not too pretty and the paint has been through the wars but rome wasnt built in a day http://s791.photobucket.com/albums/yy197/f.../R31%20Skyline/
  14. ill have a look but that sounds too thick for where i wanna put the cooler man , all ideas appreciated though
  15. well holy shit hey , im not going to say alot but thats deep and if true very serious accusations for sure , on that note whos to say the turbo setups we or someppl buy from ebay like the MONSTA kits arent made in the same place and yeah some parts fail but theres no perfect way of making things or we would never need to replace parts and the companies would go broke with no turnover lol anyways this is a serious post and should be taken with a grain of salt and not to discourage the customer in anyway from buying what could very well still be a great product .. if its taken 10 years since the selling of the company and it hasnt failed yet whats to say it will now and i have seeen some very potent GARRETT setups over the time i have been into cars and well i cant say a bad thing about it all so im not going to start now ...
