  1. Thanks, mate.  I got my Veilside front lip, bought as a whole kit, from a shop called Styled2Race (www.styled2race.com) in Perth. It costed me $1000 for this full fiberglass kit.
  2. Felt like taking some photos after a good wash. My V35 coupe with a new side skirts (Webersports) and my Dualis at the back.
  3. No worries. I am pretty sure I will see you around sometimes. Enjoy your stay on SAU.
  4. That's one heck of a list of car owned, Terry. I can't see myself owning that much cars any time soon, as I love my V35 coupe too much. I plan to keep it for as long as humanly possible and do it up slowly. (By the way, I saw your posts on preludeaustralia forum the other day. ). I am 26 years old. I came to Australia in 2006 and working full time now. I saved up as much as I can when I got my full time job back in 2008, and went out and bought my first car, 2004 Nissan Skyline V35 coupe. The reason being I just fell in love with it on first sight. I admit I don't know anything about a V35 before that. Although it's not as common as the R-series, I still get bad rep sometimes from your common haters. Back in the days, all I thought about owning were R34 GT-T coupe, S15 (Nissan), Evo (Mitsubishi) or a WRX, Liberty (Subaru). Movies and books also affected my decision back in my childhood in Burma. Also, my first car in Burma for 6 months before I came to Australia was a 1989 Toyota Supra (N/A) that my dad bought me. Anyway, I don't care about all the bad stigma associating with a Skyline brand. I don't have time for that. All I care about is I want to enjoy it for myself (Even though it only comes out on the weekends) and with my friends. I also learnt alot after that and got alot of helpful friends (On and off SAU). Concerning P-plate issue, I would agree on banning some of them (Turbo, V6) as performance cars. Also, there's nothing wrong with buying R-series N/A for starter, as long as not many turns out as actual hoons. All in all, I love my Skyline.
  5. I am not too sure with or without badging. Anyway, you are welcome to join us on events. We are looking forward for a newer V-series to come along. You will find alot of useful information on SAU. Enjoy your stay.

  7. . That would be great. I wasn't happy with mine yet. Will play around when I get a chance.
  8. Finish this conversation off, guys. Of course, we can do whatever we want with our cars. But once you are done and people dislike it, you have to accept it too. If everyone likes the same thing, we will all look alike. I liked Kenstyle rear before but now, not that much. But that didn't stop me to admire the whole car regarding other mods done, etc.
  9. Hi mate, welcome to SAU. My name is Victor and owns a 350GT (V35) coupe. I think I've seen your car sometimes around Curtin (My brother studies at Curtin and my wife works near Curtin). There's a V-series event coming up next weekends. (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/360651-wa-v-series-owners-meet-and-greet-no2/). Come along and meet other V-series owners.
  10. ^ Great, Kevin. We shall see you then. Depending on the number of attendents willing to participate, I might include 1 run of cruise to a location as a option. We can see how it goes. Thanks.
  11. If you don't mind, Alan. Can you please post or pm me the links for both "Bilstein PSS kit" and "Koni yellow dampers+Eibach springs"? The reason of me being interested in the "Koni yellow dampers+Eibach springs" is because of the 1 inch drop, as others I know on the market are mostly 2 inch drops which is way too much drop for me. Also, would you know if dampers+springs combo will last as long as the coilovers kit? Thanks, Alan.
  12. Yeah, that would be the main issue for me. As I've never used K&N panel filters before, I am not that confident to clean it myself yet. I will only install it "AFTER" I make sure my mechanics know about it. Hope it's not too hard or complicating. So Dale, you don't get any AFM problem so far? Do you clean the filter yourself with ease?
  13. Jo, you are spot-on on that fact. I shouldn't have said engine. My bad.
  14. I guess it's just different people have different opinions. To tell the truth, I also thought of putting on this GT-R styled body kit before too. But after more research, I opted to go with a clean look that is not too expensive and keep the stock look of the V35 coupe.
  15. Adam, the main reason of mis-match paint when installing body kits is because of different materials used. The material of the body of the car (i.e Plastic, Aluminium, etc.) attracts the paint particles at different rates compare to material used for aftermarket body kits (i.e. Fibreglass, Carbon fibre, etc.). Therefore, I believe no two different material parts will have a 100% matching paint. The best you can get it about 85%-90%. But like I said before, if you go to a reputable place that have experience in fitting and painting body kits, you should be fine. Just make sure you give the right paint code and enough information (2 layers/3 layers pearl, etc.). Worse being worse, you can make assurance with the place beforehand that, if the paint comes out totally crap, they will have to fix it up. And they will as big/famous places are scared to loss good rep. Good luck with the process.
  16. After a few read-throughs online, alot have different opinions. Pros: 1. Good lifespan, if cleaned and oiled properly. 2. Allow the engine to breathe better then a standard paper filter (Oil is there to attract the dirt). 3. Small gain in power (Depends on the type of engine), if you also change the piping, throttle body, etc. 4. Save money in the long run. Cons: 1. If not oil and clean properly, it will have bad effects on the engine. 2. Abit of work in cleaning it and re-using process. So I am abit confussed now as well.
  17. I will be getting a K&N panel filter at my next service interval, so should know the result by then. But I've heard nothing but good things about it.
  18. Spotted a silver V35 coupe driving on Nicholson Rd in Canning Vale area (WA) around 5:40pm on Monday (09-05-11). You saw me in my V35 coupe going the opposite direction. I was going to wave but didn't get to, because I just finished work and still got work stuffs running in my head. By the time I realised there's a V35, you drove past.
  19. In that case, Dualis should be great. The car is not that big so it's easier for Mrs to park and drive, plus she loves the big moon roof. Are you thinking of selling your V35 coupe soon, Dave? It sure will be sad to let it go. I thought of selling mine and getting the new STI or the Evo X MR before I bought the Dualis. But I decided to keep it instead and modify it as much as I can. That's why I got a Dualis for daily driving. Well, come around to one of the events before you finally sell your V. Most of the new owners, including myself, haven't met you in person yet. It would be great to have a chat before your ownership changes.
  20. Just make sure you go to a reputable place that have experience in fitting and painting body kits. You might be able to go to local Nissan dealer to fit a OEM geninum replacement parts, but not aftermarket. Good luck.
  21. Spotted a pearl white V35 coupe driving through East Parade onto Graham Farmer Fwy in East Perth area (WA) around 6:00pm on Saturday (07-05-11). I was in my friend's gun metal Silvia S15 behind and drove past you on the Fwy. Damn, the rear end of the V35 are sexy.
  22. 2 more weeks to go, everyone. Come around for food, drinks or just a chit-chat with your fellow V-series owners.
  23. Damn, that's so unlucky for you, Joel. The fact that it happened after easter long weekends when there's more chance of that happening. Good luck with the whole process.
  24. I would have to agree with these as well. 1. Security nuts (Expensive ones, different sets for front and rear wheels) for the wheels. 2. Quality alarm system professionally installed. 3. Security light (Movement sensor ones) in carport. 4. Security camera (If you want to spend abit more). I actually can't think of a reason why they would want to steal a body kit though. Maybe they are not capable of stealing other parts? It's a pain to worry about your pride-and-joy when it's parked out in the open. That's why I waited until I got a house with a lock-up garage. Then, I put on a security flood light (Movement sensor ones). Plus, my car already got a decent alarm system on the car. Good luck.
  25. Spotted a black V35 coupe on son of rajab St turning onto Graham Farmer Fwy in Perth CBD area (WA) at 6:00pm on Tuesday (03-05-11).
