Not sure if a R33 GTR pump would be suitable... PM me if you need it...

Do all R33 GT-R's have rear window wipers ?
Laurence replied to Serious-Seven's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Absolutely positive If you were being tight like that then why would you change the wiper stalks or get blanking plates for where the rear wiper controls sit (I don't know where it is) -

No, absolutely definitely not. As far as I can see there is no pattern to it. I have seen V-Specs with and without Non-V-Spec with and without. They were obviously just an option (or a delete option). Though I guess N1's don't have them... -
SBS (edit) usually have a fluff piece a few weeks after the event. Unfortunately it is pretty much just an infomercial for the event sponsors... :spamcan:

You are so right about the sixth sense. After riding a lot I could just look at a car and know it would do something stupid. A few seconds later... bingo... something stupid was done.

Yep you got a nice little deal. Admittedly these are not a total loss. The side plates just need to be extended 15mm each side so I will see how much that costs The actual rail part is fine and looks pretty much exactly the same as your Bride one. The sideplates bolt on to the rail. I expected the rail and side to be a single part (luckily they weren't) But with the cost, as always here people know a mate of a mate who got one for $2 and want to get it off you for $1.99. re: Group Buy - Hahahah no way, these rails have caused me enough trouble, they are going in this car whether they want to or not
-
They cost what they cost. Brand new brand name parts cost a lot. Admittedly shipping was a large part of the cost. As you can see from my post early in this thread I was naively confident that I would get what I asked for.

2x Evo 2 seats sitting at friend's house doing nothing... GoJiRa to the rescue orders 2x Sparco seat rails specifically designed for the R33 and Evo 2 from Japan. Jap guys laugh and roll eyes about being hassled so often about them being specifically for an Evo 2 $1,100 and a magnificently made set of Evo 1 rails turn up on mates doorstep. Jap Sparco guys now say there is no difference between Evo 1 and Evo 2. 2x Evo 2 seats and 2x Evo 1 seat rails sitting at friend's house doing nothing...

No seats, just rails... If they sent the wrong rails WITH the seats I would have been tripply pissed. For a friend's Skyline... Unfortunately at the moment I only have my ghey BMW
-
I have just done this... It cost $1100 to get Sparco ones here and **** me if they sent the wrong ones. I told them 10 times they were for Evo 2 and the fückers sent ones for an Evo.

DRIVE IT LIKE YOU RENTED IT I always thought that would be better. In a stolen car I would try to keep a low profile.

I stacked after breaking up with my first serious girlfriend. It was a sort of catharsis, but not one I recommend.

This is where some logging G-sensors are a nice little thing to have...

It doesn't matter what the signal says... Power FC uses Load vs. RPM on the map, when the AFM is maxed out the load value will not increase but the rpm will be mapped out to 9,200rpm or whatever so you can still tune it properly. No need to richen it up more than usual. I can't think of many situations where you would use part throttle at 7,000rpm+ and even if the actual load was lower than the real load you would be putting in more fuel anyway so effectively it would go rich because it was pumping in fuel as if it was at WOT until the AFM starts to read real values again.
-
While it is not nice, you will pretty much always being driving at WOT from 7,000 onwards. As long as you tune it properly it will be fine. Just don't increase the boost later

Yes the intercooler design is great... I was trying to think of a way sort of like a backwards 996 Turbo with two intercoolers, one in each corner, but that APS one is so much simpler! I was never happy with the pipe routing on the turbo kits out there before this one.

Yep... I haven't tried very hard Well $550 I guess I dunno p.s. It weighs 6.6kg if anyone cares

The Tuning Process De-Mystified
Laurence replied to Bass Junky's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The MoTeC course is pretty fundamental, they talk a lot about sensors and different ways of measuring load (TPS, MAP, AFM) and you get to tune an MX5 engine in the dyno room. I knew basically everything i was told (from a theoretical point of view), but it did clear up a few misunderstandings. They show you how to use the MoTeC software (it was the old DOS crap when I did it). For all you nerds trying to think of the difference between being able to "use" Photoshop and to be able to put Carmen Electra's body on your girlfriend's head) But lunch was great and they give you a hat and stickers! I did the ADL course as well which was good. Like all training courses it can get bogged down by morons who are wasting their money or know-it-all teachers pets who want to crap on about whichever V8 Supercar they clean the floors for... It was worth doing, unfortunately for MoTeC it was what convinced me that the PowerFC was a better option :headspin: p.s. I am not sure who built the dyno room, but it is noisier upstairs than outside the cell... I think they forgot to insulate the roof -
I would guess around $20k

Also the 350Z has lots of extra bracing around the body... If my Best Motoring video is to be believed! Anyway, if I ever get a 350Z/V35 I am going straight to APS... http://www.aps-350z.com/350z/350z.htm

I have been to three ride days where a rider has come off the track. In Australia the organisers/St Johns have attended the scene very quickly. I have no doubt in my mind that the riders would have been in intesive care or dead if the same incident had happened on the road. This incident is a disgrace, but I stand by "keep it for the track"...

Brock is an oldschool racer, brought up on true production car racing.I remember him in a VN Commodore(?) Flying over the top of Mount Panorama with the thing dancing on tippy toes. Awesome stuff. That F1 race was by far the best this year. The new Hockenheim layout shows that a modern F1 track can still allow for good racing. Fast section with a tight corner at the end always makes for overtaking. The side on shots of the BAR vs Renault were really interesting, it was like the BAR was running a CVT, on every BAR gearshift the Renault leapt ahead! The drive that the Williams and Renaults got out of that corner was amazing. The Renaults are definitely an anomoly, they understeer like a pig and have a low top speed but they are super competitive! Weird. But back on topic. Webber drove really well but beating a Williams in a straight fight was just icing on the cake

That is hooning around though... 350km is probably more realistic
