  1. Girly yes, or maybe ok if you are a young "number 4" or "number 5" at a decent host club So innocent... I want to talk to him for hours and give him money for his future.
  2. Well you can negotiate, but you both have to agree without embarrassing each other or stating your true position outwardly. Also it will take months and involve lots of expensive dinners or hours sitting in an office sucking air through your teeth and saying ちょっと a lot. Here is what a Japanese person will do in the same situation as you 1) They will say it is too expensive, leave the showroom and say "shou ga nai" 2) They will say it is too expensive, pay the price and say "shou ga nai" There is no reason for them to negotiate, they can't do it and they are throwing away money that someone else will pay.... eventually.
  3. No gaijin tricks can work in this situation... Nihonjin-air-through-teeth-sucking > Gaijin-smash Gotta remember, Japanese people are retardedly patient and love rules. Selling something at a price is the perfect situation for them. They wait around doing nothing and follow the rules! Sort of like how most office workers work. hehehe.
  4. Welcome to negotiation Japanese style. It is like English, chairs and insulation, another thing Japan just hasn't worked out yet. The number of people that ask me to lowball (i.e. offer less than the start price in Q&A) on Yahoo auctions is very frustrating Now stop looking at cars out of your price range. I will be at your service on Saturday I guess.
  5. It is perfect... call them today, offer them your limit.
  6. Isn't the original warranty transferable?
  7. Auctions are weird, to be honest I think a lot of the Ferraris and other ballermobiles go through purely on the whim of the owners. If they can make some money on them they will, but they probably don't really care about selling them. You see the same Lorinser S65 7.2 biturbo mega-spec car getting passed in week after week, likewise with the Bentley and other cars that just don't get sold. I think they are just waiting on the day when someone with cash will pay "whatever it costs" for the car. Just a theory I guess. But that is the only logical explanation I could think of. p.s. LOL at buying a car from Yamaguchi... gangsta
  8. No because they have not made a class perfectly suited to my car that I will win and the entry fee is more than $1. I did a 30second lap in the wet with retreads in the wet so my car would win but blah blah blah complain complain...
  9. There are lots of ways to get a R34 when you are still young. Some involve debt, some don't. Let's not gay up this thread with that sort of stuff.
  10. Because I have ultimate ninja spec USS access which ASNET doesn't have It passed in at the start price, I don't know if one person bid or not.
  11. Unfortunately it only started at 65k, and was passed in. We don't know what the reserve price would have been. They start lower than that so people can have fun pushing buttons.
  12. Ummmm... nothing http://www.pink-godzilla.com/ Actually until looking at that site it was just a love hotel, I thought you had to BYO. LOL.
  13. We can visit Pink Gojira should be fun, if we can get you in a car it will make life wonderful for everyone in this forum! N/AR(you know that guy) will be happy. Anyway I am on holiday until Friday so I will stop talking car auctions until I get back the land of the blossoming cherry.
  14. Wow... I hope the event is better than this thread. I suspect there will be a number of people out there having a cry afterwards. But that is just how it goes.
  15. It is also been interesting that lately (maybe I have just been noticing it more) people seem to "forget" to mention things on the auction sheets. So an in person inspection is always worth the trouble. Again, checking the auction sheets about a day before is best as cars get sold, pulled from auction, info gets changed, cars get added, etc, etc...
  16. I am always thinking of you Using the same website that Beer Baron did captures from I can search auctions, they only update it a few days in advance. But when I find a car I can post pictures like I did before.
  17. Yes, as Beer Baron says, with the Auctions you get to look at the car in the morning and basically you have however long it is until the car is at auction to inspect it. They are usually parked nose to tail so you can check things like how the transmission engages and what the leather smells like but not much else. You can check under the body for damage or rust and check the oil and water to see if the engine is completely stuffed. Most of the people that go there have been looking at cars forever and as you get better at it you learn what to look for, especially if you deal with particular models. Dealers you are selling to often mention specific things they want you to check. Also remember that in the auction the price goes up... The website we are looking at only shows the start price. Also there are auction fees and 5% sales tax, so the number you buy it for is just the beginning. I don't know the fees for such an expensive car so I can work that out when I get back to Japan. You can come to the auction as a guest, but if you run around the carpark without ID they get suss and 100% that car would be locked so they wouldn't let you have the key. I would like to check out USS Tokyo so I may be able to help out with that. Unfortunately USS Tokyo takes tiny pictures... edit: LOL they have finally changed 右 左 to 左 右. It was so annoying the other way around. I am back in Japan on Friday. I can find out how much that Silver car went for and let you know.
  18. 71,000 for this one http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k56217807
  19. Oh well that is easy... 1. Buy Car 2. Insert Petrol 3. Pay Taxes 4. Buy Tyres 5. Pay Parking 6. Repeat steps 1-5 for one year 7. Deregister car 8. Export car Any car you buy is fine, really. Anything is fine, as long as the car is not damaged badly and runs well it really is fine. Sometimes you will do well like N/A® did with this Subaru, sometimes you won't. Don't be afraid to pass on a bad car. But if you had bought your CLK you would have been well on the way to steps 7 and 8 and whatever potential profit there was there. When you had your Colt you had a car which you could drive, all we have now is a very long thread, and you can't drive that. You just need a push! We are here to help you!!!
  20. Just took some panadol. Compared to Australia... have you had a look at interest rates. They basically give money away in Japan. Get a pile of cheap money and do something with it and you can be the guy in the F430 next to N/A®'s car. Buy a JZX110 Mark II iR-V or something cool like that you can have fun driving and trick the family into thinking you have a sensible car. Also you will have a car that is desirable in both Japan and Australia (make sure it is black or white though). Be careful of looking at people like N/A® who has pretty substantial means, what works for him is probably not right for you and definitely not right for me. I presume by your username you have liked M3s for a long time so I can fully understand wanting to get one, but if you need a loan to buy it you can't risk/afford to take it to the track or anything like that. You must be on SAU for a reason, if you liked a particular Skyline in the past then buy that. You will have your affordable dream car which you will be able to use, maybe take it to Tsukuba or something and you will have something you can export to Australia or England or wherever at the end. The thing I would hate to see is your dream car becoming your nightmare, I have seen it happen before with a number of friends. Do you know about M3's killing big end bearings? You might want to check if the engine has been rebuilt on any car you are looking at. I am not sure when the problem was fixed. Also if you look at an M5 there are oil consumption problems with those... etc, etc... they are just machines, they all have problems and they are starting to get old.
  21. I had a headache, it is now getting worse. What happened to the CLK? Just buy something so this thread can end!!!! Japan's property market is just starting to go up again, so if your bigger things means a house, then don't f**k around, do it now. You will save yourself more than you make from the car. Money is still cheap in Japan and if your wife's family is willing to support the decision then it is all good. Think about how much money you are throwing away as rent and parking then do the numbers and it will probably make sense. So yes, screw the car, buy a house. p.s. I will let you know about the navigation for the E39 when I get back on April 4th
  22. There is a hell of a difference between an E39 or E46 generation BMW and a E63.My friend's car was the 4:3 screen navigation in a E39 540i so even the generation jump to E46 may render his experience irrelevant to you. My advice to help you sleep better would be to buy a car without navigation.
  23. If people could make fake PowerFCs it would be great, Apexi can't make real ones so at least it would give people another option. I think it was just a case of some people in HK not knowing the value of what they had. Which is very unusual.
  24. A bargain... I will take 3!
  25. Those are serial numbers so every unit has a different one. The RB25 bit is promising. Check the pictures in the links I posted. But honestly, stick it on Yahoo and let people fight over it rather than giving it away on here.
