  1. Hmmm I was going to argue, but then I realised I have never driven a Skyline apart from a GT-R (R32, R33 and R34). The main thing I can't stand about the Silvia is the engine note. The SR20 is a horrid sounding thing... especially compared to an RB. Don't get me wrong, the SR20 is light and makes good power but hand me the earplugs!
  2. *Bump* I am guessing this is the same car? http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/marketplace...dd_used=2517378 And just for people's interest, here is a list of all the parts are different to a Japanese GT-R. RIGHT CLICK - SAVE AS
  3. I guess in a 4WD you don't really need as much pitch. Also if you are using the springs to increase the roll stiffness rather than sway bars you will end up with a very stiff setup. Just look at the GTP cars, I am not sure now but previously you weren't allowed to change the sway bars so they were all sprung to the shiznit
  4. LOL, that is my friend's old site... He got called up by Today Tonight and offered money for a story, he also gets regular threatening emails from various people... it is all good fun.
  5. Whoops... didn't read properly, silver... I guess you could paint it silver

  7. Good to see some Skylines turning corners... All this drag racing was depressing me. I hate to be a wet blanket but I doubt that Ben's car is eligible for Marque Sports... The time is still awesome though...
  8. Sonic - It is called exaggerating, try it sometime, it's fun... But there is enough money to buy at least one 550 or 575 (I dunno)
  9. I say we take off and nuke the place from orbit, it's the only way to be sure...
  10. I have only ever experienced a catch can filling itself once (very scary)... Just make sure you regularly empty it. If you get more than 100ml in it after a hard days thrashing then there are serious issues. But technically you need the catch can to be the capacity of the sump, that way if your engine does decide to blow all its oil out the breathers then at least you won't cover the dragstrip/racetrack with oil. Seriously though 600ml should be heaps...
  11. Mmmm beer, now that is something we can all enjoy. I found an GTR34 a bit squeezy too... Not good... Too much good living. If only they would get on and make an R35 GT-R so we can have a proper argument when PROCAR hobbles it to let the Monaro win
  12. Does anyone really think that though... Is it just a bogan stereotype? I certainly don't think the taxi that drops my drunken carcass home on after a Friday night has anything to do with the machines nudging 300km/h down Conrod Straight. What about Supertourers, did people like them? I mean they were pure racing cars, billet suspension arms mounted about 15cm from the original point, tubbed more than any drag car you have ever seen, sequential gearboxes and funky diffs, 19" wheels back when 18" was still considered massive... They really had nothing to do with the cars they were based on...
  13. No really, it is ghey. But it all stems from the fundamentally bizarre notion that racing cars should be based on production cars... and not the other way around
  14. The RX7s run lower boost to compete with WRXs, Evos and HSV GTSs. They are not in the same class as the Monaro...
  15. A small block is defined by the bore spacing. The LS1's bore spacing is that of a small block so therefore it is a small block. It uses a motorsport block which has thicker walls (anyone remember the thick wall Group A RB26 block) I guess GTR700 really sucks because of all the non production and modified parts on it.
  16. If what I read is Max Power is any guide, your next mod should be a full green interior and a large breasted lass, also you should bare your bottom whenever possible. Though I would get a nice big intercooler.
  17. Ghey... But thanks for the info
  18. Sorry, I was talking about price. I have no idea if the VL/R32 pump fits. I have a 33GTR oil pump that I don't need, so if you want it, let me know. I want $300 ono...
  19. It is alloy so it is resleeved and it is stroked to within an inch of its life. Imagine a RB32DETT But there is lots of legit things to criticise about the Monaro, personally I don't care too much about the tech spec, I like high tech super modified race cars. I don't like it when they run around with no competition, doesn't matter if it is a Monaro or a GT-R. It just gets boring. They need to get serious and penalise the Monaro to make it a fair competition.
  20. Look, we are sorry... We realise we have been mean. How about I make it up to you by coming around and lending you my digital camera so we can take a pic of your Mum's car.
  21. http://www.ls1speed.com/engine12.cfm Search on Google, there are 100 places in America that can build you a nice 427ci LS1 from off the shelf Chev bits and I know this may be difficult to understand, but a small block engine is a small block engine no matter how big you stroke it... It isn't a big block, unless it is a big block.
  22. Watch out for the reverse-half-turk kick to the head bro! Also his cousins and Mum's SL55
  23. I called the Nissan dealer an a VL/R31 one costs $310 so that would be a good start...
  24. Basically my suggestion would be don't start a magazine.
  25. Melbourne (well Victoria, but Melbournish) and ummm... not sure what it is worth. Will work it out.
