  1. Hmmm just wait till your mates work out that they can get a 350kW AMG E55 or SL55 slushbox... Or they could always go for a 300kW 911 Turbo auto... There was that TRY09 auto R33 GTS that ran a flat 10s pass at Drag Combat... Nah, I think you can go fast with a slush only licence
  2. It is not and never will be true. It is a throwaway line that "plays the man and not the ball". Personal attacks are cheap shots and should always be treated with contempt. I just thought it was a shame you detracted from your other insightful comments by saying it. It brings you down to the level of the original poster's "cheque book racer" comment
  3. Personally I would have saved the plates and stickers until I ran a 9 second pass. Sticking them on the car now is a bit like opening your presents the day before your birthday. But I have little doubt that car will end up in the 9's eventually, I just hope that it doesn't get turned into a full on drag car to do it. YLWGTR has it spot on though, there are better drag cars than the GT-R and the best place for a GT-R is pounding around a circuit. If I spent that much on a GT-R it probably wouldn't get into the 10's down the strip, maybe the 1'40"s around Philip Island though. I hate it when people use that lame line, imagine if every time someone criticised John Howard he said "Until you are elected as Prime Minister keep your comments to yourself" nobody is beyond criticism as nobody is perfect, but I agreed with the other stuff you said.
  4. City Nissan are pretty happy to service Skylines...
  5. Personally, I would prefer to use the wet weight, I tend to have engine problems with no oil in the car. Since the dyno has measured rwkW. The combo of the power getting to the road with the weight on the road is a good thing.
  6. Good condition or new, or even if you just know somewhere to get one.
  7. Drove back to Victoria from Adelaide through the hills... went up old somthing hill road and then to Uralish and then through some other squiggles on the map before going back onto the South Eastern.. Awesome fun! Only bad thing was some lady on the South Eastern who owned the right lane (100km/h of course). Then waved sarcastically as she went on the off-ramp to Hahndorf... The only thing I hate more than being a wanker tailgater is people hogging the right lane (I think we passed about 3 Keep Left Unless Overtaking signs) I think there must have been a police convention in Adelaide the next week as I saw about 15 bike cops on the way back. Also saw a riced up white MY02 WRX chasing a CBR600. Hopefully they were friends as they WRX was seriously tailgating the bike. Anyway, saw a few Skylines around town and had a Yiros from some Blue and White place in North Adelaide. All good fun...
  8. After you have undone 10 allen bolts to get that cover off (including two unreachable ones near the firewall) you won't be in a big hurry to get it back on. Also people think you are running some CDI ignition or something if you leave it off like the big HP Jap drag cars.
  9. I'll try again tomorrow...
  10. I am interested. I am in Horsham but I head down to Melbourne Regularly. Sunday would probably be ok this week. I called but no answer, I guess that is a home number... Tried calling again, no answer...
  11. Perhaps an email to [email protected] would be in order. I guess the link above would be good to give an idea of what the reporter is like and also a picture of a real GT-R
  12. An R33 GT-R can easily hit 110km/h in 1st, it just needs to be revved to 11,800rpm. At 8,100rpm it does 77km/hish
  13. $18k of GTS-t is much better than $55k of GT-R, it's all relative I guess. I go to plenty of sprints and see dented $220k 911 GT3's. At least a GT3 will take the punishment and keep coming back for more. I have discovered GT-R's aren't quite as tough on the track as they appear on the road. Even with only minor mods.
  14. I would have it as a dedicated track car, but still with rego and stuff, for convenience. I don't have a tow car or a big workshop. Also it is much cooler to turn up and whip people's arse in the car you came in...
  15. Engine swaps and things go against the whole reliablity aspect I am after.... With the R32 or S13 the oldness factor goes against it for me. Am I wrong in thinking that? Also what is the difference with the 4WD blocks. I presume the front left driveshaft goes through the sump or something.
  16. I am up for a registered and reliable car that will be fun on the track. I like Skylines (because I can fit in one) and at $18k it is much less of a write off worry. What needs to be done? Suspension and tyres are a start. Are the brakes ok? What about the stock intercooler. How much weight could you get out of one? Power levels would be kept lowish for reliablity. Anyone with experience of their own car?
  17. I thought the police encouraged wreckless(sic) driving!
  18. The reversing lights are where Jap indicators are, the indicators are the large ring around the outside tail lights.
  19. Well reading down the list Narrow neck fuel filler - So you don't fill up with leaded Exhaust - So you don't get the EPA on your back Oil Cooler - So you don't roast the engine on your 2 hour trip to Ayer's rock ECU - So the fun doesn't stop at 180km/h (see oil cooler) Speedo - So you can tell when the fun actually stops Dimmer - So the speedo doesn't blind you at night Headlights - So you can see the kangaroo you are about to hit Side indicator repeaters - So people can see you around corners Gay orange indicators - So you don't get the cool quad afterburner effect from behind Radio - So you can tune into JJJ and not just 89.9 Rear bumper - So you can fit an Aussie number plate Stickers - So you know what fuse does what
  20. Side intrusion bars would (and did) do sweet FA on the car that poled the passenger door! Just thought I would make mention of the two pictures I contributed to wreckedexotics.com http://www.wreckedexotics.com/cars3/new/35..._071902_04.html http://www.wreckedexotics.com/cars3/new/35..._071902_03.html
  21. Just thought people might like this little PDF Australian BNR32 differences
  22. Nothing worse than people squatting on domain names, cars and number plates. It is such a crap thing to do and I know I would rather miss out on a plate then let some scumbag make money for doing nothing.p.s. As you may have guessed from this post my number plate is not GOJIRA
