I sure hope that's including labour lol, even so its a massive ripoff. I haven't checked (and can't easily as I'm on my phone) but kudos probably has an exedy HD kit for 750 ish. To be honest a HD clutch is overkill, but the grabbyness is fun. Labour would be 400-600, but even 600 is a bit of a rip. The big question now is do r34 gt's have a push type clutch (like the r32/r33 gts's and gtst's) or a pull type clutch (like the gtr's and r34 gtt). The difference being most cars have a push type clutch which means most mechanics can do it. When I got my r34 gtt clutch changed by a very experienced mechanic he didn't know how to change a pull type clutch, couldn't get the pressure plate to release and ended up cutting a hole in the bell housing (I know, wtf right?). So its worth any extra money to get it done by a performance mechanic with a good rep on here. Though it wont necessarily be more expensive, as someone familiar with skylines will do the job quicker. If its a push type its worth upgrading the pivot ball to the misnomer one for round $70 as they're prone to failure. Push types also tend to be cheaper.

Any1 Instald Gas Injection, Wat R Pros & Cons Please
Galois replied to RS444's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
These guys have a stand alone system now http://www.lpgli.com/features.html -
Ooh one other thing with the r34 gtt you can fit an r33 gtr clutch, which costs slightly less and does a better job. Give andrew a call at kudos if you want to know more, from memory he's sold dozens of r33 gtr clutches to r34 gtt owners. Not sure if the gt is a pull type or push type clutch though, can anyone confirm this?

JJR Coil Packs Vs Oem Vs Splitfire Vs Other
Galois replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yup -
Is that for your non-turbo? If so, the exedy HD clutch would be more than enough, overkill actually. Certainly no need for a button clutch unless you have some weapon under the bonnet? If it is fr an NA I'd also be looking at a lightened flywheel. Apparently it can makes a big difference, esp to NA's which aren't exactly pushing the power limits of the engine. Have a search in the NA section for more info. If it's not for your GT, how much power do you have/are you hunting?

That's the most direct and convincing question-answer sequence I've ever seen hahaha -
FKN LOLLLLLL!!!!

Or an mx5/mr2 plus turbo?

Turbo Vehicles And What Could Have Been...
Galois replied to jjman's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Wasn't that brought about due to emission law changes? Regardless it won't be a power reduction!! -
Just curious, what's the build quality like on the ba xr6t's? I know the engine/box is good but have heard mixed things about the interior not being up to scratch/things being a bit flimsy etc

Thats a really nice kit mate

Drove a liberty gt last year in the pouring rain, felt like the r34 did in the dry, it was just so planted, pretty quick too. Felt like I was driving on ice taking the gtt home afterwards.

Rwd, aus delivered and 30k max will pretty much narrow your search down to falcodores of different flavours and mercs. Have you ever driven a wrx sti from 04 or 05? I've only driven a wrx and it seemed pretty punchy for stock. Apparently the sti's are another world again. Have a mate with a club spec who says he doesn't have to change his driving style at all when it rains, it's just full of grip. Sti's are a sports car too, unlike most of the other options which are tricked out family cars.
-
m3's might be hard to find for that price too
-
I'd be looking at an sti for that price. Sucks about your experience mate. I hope that was all paid by insurance.

I'd give him a call, Andrew is a great guy to work with and knows plenty about skylines. That said it looks like the right one.

Try running a cheap ass shitty oil like magnatec for 1000km and then come back and tell us you cannot notice the difference. People criticising others' judgement, tell us which oils you have used and noticed no difference. You can't really criticise if you've only used high end good oils. Many people notice their car's performance suffering on a hot day, before I realised it was this I always used to get frustrated in mid summer thinking there was a problem with the 34, it just didn't seem to pull as hard, didn't have that exciting explosion of power. I also wouldn't have believed I could notice the difference between oils, until I put magnatec in. I'm not saying I could notice the difference between 8100 xmax and royal purple, same oils at same viscosities. But if you throw in an oil that's at the bottom end you will notice a change in noise, engine noise at high rpm and lifter noise, possibly leaking or burning off too quickly, smelling burnt after the change. Are you going to report back here and say you'd use it again?
-
That actually makes a whole lot of sense (to me at least)
-
Oil can affect the economy by more than just viscosity remember, viscosity is just the easiest one to explain. Detergent heavy oils remove crap which could be adding resistance to the shafts (giggle), a crappy oil breaking down may produce less resistance, something like magnatec where it tries to stick to the metal may even shield sooty deposits harming ease of movement. I've never read anything with any numbers associated with them, but changing from one oil to another is changing more than just viscosity. Just my 2c anyway. Viscosity is almost certainly the biggest factor, esp with a step change like you had arthur. Just curious, did you ever notice your consumption change over the lifetime of the oil?

Maybe contact one of the recommended mechanics/tuners and ask who they'd use? I don't know of anyone personally, sorry, but that's what I'd do if I needed something made up.

Oh yeah, of course! It's a massive improvement, and I actually do like the button's that make them go faster (kers and drs). But they introduce these systems for overtaking without completely addressing the major factor, downforce. Looking at yesterday's race maybe giving them straight front and back wings and straight body panels wouldn't improve the number of overtakes, not in that race at least. Look at all the times last year when a 1-2 second faster car was held up significantly because they couldn't drive in the dirty air. Obviously it affects some tracks more than others. But maybe lowering the downforce would make the cars too much like gp2... On the engine side, I read a couple of days ago that a separate company is starting to develop an engine for 2013. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/formula_one/13285976.stm

Wow, turkeey was an interesting race, I enjoyed it. Quite busy though. I was thinking the same thing when I saw it, but another angle made it look like more of a mistake. Though schumacher was the only one to make that mistake in the race. I don't get schumacher, he must be a very proud person, the most successful person in f1. Sure some of that is because he had a killer team for a fair few years, but plenty of it is him as a driver (I don't think he's the best ever, nor that he was carried through by the team, he was a talented driver with a really focussed team. He did have to beat rubens (some of the time anyways), who according to frank williams is an amazing driver). Anyways, he's come back in to wrestle with midfielders and constantly get thrashed by his teammate, man he must be on some big money. Btw above the qualifying on the onehd stream too, when it works. The signal was pretty shoddy signal a few times on tv too. I'm sure I'm in good company here not wanting vettel to just walk away with the championship. It's boring, but even worse, only 6 drivers ever have one their first and second championships consecutively, the last being alonso and before him schuey. I just can't see vettel being on the same level as alonso, vettel wins easily from pole but has only won once when not in pole, when he qualified 3rd, had a good start and took webber in the first corner. He's not the clever overtaking machine alonso is (or can be), at least we haven't seen it from vettel yet. Maybe drs was making it too easy, and it is a bit fake, but at least it gave people a chance to overtake back, which made things interesting (probably frustrating for the drivers though). Drs and kers are just bandaid fixes for the real problem, too much aero making air too turbulent and killing real racing. As said above, free drs would be an improvement, if it didn't result in bad crashes and people hurt. Or maybe the teams get to pick multiple drs zones every track, that'd be very interesting to see teams do it differently, maybe being allowed x seconds of drs per lap. One other thing, anyone notice how sometimes massa drives like such a hack, but there are a few tracks every year where he drives really really well, turkeey and brazil come to mind. He reminds everyone why he's driving for the top funded team.

LOL yeah so much for that!
-
lol prediction. Hopefully the ferrari's bring it to the RBR's and McLaren's, Alonso was a good bit quicker in P1, whether or not that means anything...
-
Glad I'm not the only one looking forward to it. Not sure why though, some numbers showing up on my phone which will not necessarily have anything to do with qualifying or race pace. Ferrari updates could be interesting though
