  1. Sell it for 10-12k to some p plater and buy a gtst for 7-8? Pocket the difference or start on mods?
  2. Not often you see webber that happy
  3. That article didn't say enough about engine restrictions. They can't just let bmw and merc in with their NA v8's. The article implied there was freedom, but the german v8's produce as much power as the supercars in road going cars, in race trim they'd thrash the meat head low tech v8 supercar engines. All that article really says is they'll let other manufactures enter, but they have to use the same cars (effectively). I wonder if it's possible to have an interesting variety and good racing anymore? Sure back in the day there were great battles against big american v8's and small euro boxes (such as minies), but suspension, chassis and engine technology is too advanced now, even a fat supercar can be made a decent racer. What could they do to the supercar series to make it more interesting?
  4. Could be a faulty battery? Maybe swap it with another if you have another car available? Can you bump start it?
  5. Yes! I watched the first race of the btcc online today. Love the brands hatch circuit, I don't think I knew enough about the series, teams and drivers to really get into it...
  6. What ended up being the problem? Some of the stories from sau-nsw members show so much help and support, it's really great to see!
  7. Mclaren must feel so glad they can let their boys race without taking eachother out. RBR sure doesn't feel as comfortable.
  8. That's very interesting... I do love the sound of a gurgling v8 though (the m3 is sadly quiet) Lol just look at the NA section haha.
  9. I may have misheard but didn't Brundle or DC say something about the softs not responding well to being used twice, like they lose a fair bit that they don't get back when reheated? Nowhere near his wording there lol. The softs are constantly degrading though, so having a new set means you're always 2 laps better off in terms of grip. I wonder which of the front runners will gamble a poor position on Saturday for a better one on Sunday? Fk I laughed at that hahaha
  10. What exactly did webs say in the press conference? Had to leave after the race so missed it, and can't find it online
  11. I wonder if in the future we'll see some of the top runners trying to do qualifying on hards because the softs are worth more in the race...
  12. I seem to remember they're in the factory manual. Have a search for it and you'll find it on sau for download. I don't have a copy handy atm
  13. I'm a big button fan but wtf man?! Wrong pit box, that could have cost him the win!! Go Webber! Fk off the fact he's the unluckiest man in f1 in many years, had a horrific qualifying day and got 18th, has car issues and traffic and hell, he just overcomes that with brute force, love it! Also should set some of his critics straight. I was so hoping he'd overtake Vettel at the end, would have been out-of-seat cheering! Lol at above, I also said that this year is gonna be good given how exciting china is haha. What do people think about the drs? Good/Bad? I've been thinking for a while now that they need a straight back and front wing with minimal body downforce, like back in the old days when you didn't have to be massively faster to pass. Given they can't change all that, the drs seems to work pretty well. It'd be more interesting if the drivers could use it more often, harder for them but the fans would love the exciting racing that would come from it. China has two massive straights and it was only available for the last half of one of them, if it was available earlier Webber would have had a shot at victory and it would have been the best drive in many many years (despite that it still is!). It does make the racing a bit artificial, but the affect of dirty air doesn't exactly keep it pure either.
  14. Bahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Poor webber, I feel sorry for him sometimes. He's certainly one of the best drivers, but he's never had luck on his side. Redbull's now the top team, they may want someone like Di Resta, Petrov or Rosberg for some new blood in 2012. Though ferrari still stick with massa (I think webber>massa though)
  15. So hoping Vettel doesn't just drive away again. Would be great if his kers bails and that long straight serves as a battle ground between Button and Vettel. That might be asking too much though? Do the other back-runners have kers? Are they going to launch past Webber like last week? Hopefully he recovers well, it's going to be a bad GP for him and he'll be fighting all afternoon, but i bet he'll get some points out of it, assuming no-one takes him out. Look forward to reading about wtf happened with that tyre choice and lap time.
  16. I wonder if turbos without lag feel much more like NA... In the future energy recovery systems like turbos will be used more and more extensively.
  17. Surely the rebuilder or tuner can give you accurate wear-in protocols?
  18. Bmw has been saying for a few years now that turbo-charging is the way of the future, as it is the more efficient use of fuel and production of power.
  19. Yes that, Hamilton can whinge but omg poor Kubica.
  20. ibtl seriously though, have there been more of these threads lately? To OP, assuming you're not la bomba (lol), search to make sure that 1: the question you're asking hasn't been asked a million times; and 2: the question you ask isn't just plain stupid/illegal/illogical/pointless. And when you search you'll realise how freaking lucky you are that the minor flaming in this thread was quite easy-going compared to some of the others. Anyways, buy an NA... Or Mohsen's dunnydore
  21. Hamilton in red bull, that'd give seb something to worry about. What about webber though? Hamilton may move in 2012 Webs can be an angry man sometimes, in comparison to Hamilton's cool.
  22. +1 Maru you're just topping up the coolant, not doing a flush right. That's a bit more involved...
  23. Hopefully that long back straight plus kers and drs will be enough for the Mcarens to bring it to the redbull's on the first few laps at least... Maybe. Assuming they haven't stuffed it with the new parts...
  24. fk eps you crack me up Op why an rs4 engine? Are you crazy?! Imagine the cost of one of them outright. I'd certainly be leaning towards a vh45 or 1UZ, with a decent exhaust thay sound AWESOME. Also mid engine promotes a better weight distribution which is better for handling. But, and I'm assuming you're not the next Lewis Hamilton here, but it also means that when the back end goes you have to be even quicker to catch it. Not a great comparison but think about how much you see the v8 supercars drift, and then think about how f1's biggest drift involves wither a tiny second of opposite lock OR a spin. Not saying that it's more dangerous or you shouldn't get it or it's less fun, but a bit more serious maybe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awPTf0o-kC8
