  1. 4 cylinder? ahh you mean sr20det of course. seriously though, get an auto corolla or something, not terribly interesting but not too bad, and you'll be saving the gtr for the good times. Or a v6 magna if you want something with a bit more grunt
  2. There's a few threads detailing the conversion, do's and dont's etc in the turbo section. But it's an expensive process, hard to justify on a stock car
  3. I love the bonnet, looks like he just slammed it down onto the engine and turbo. Rego time must be fun too lol
  4. What's your excuse for crashing into your own gate? I wonder how much the wreck will sell for, im thinking a quad T, W12 conversion mwahaha
  5. is it just-like-a-chocolate-milkshake-only-crunchy coming back up too? +1 troll
  6. Yep, we're no longer allowed to do anything other than look at our speedo, because there is no benefit to anyone for driving to the conditions and monitoring their surroundings, the only information the rta thinks a driver should pay attention to is a number at the end of a needle
  7. Just read that. Only the devil's spawn does 61 in a 60 zone, no-one's ever made that mistake before.
  8. It is a pain, the clutch system is pretty much the same as the gtr clutches, which is why most people put an r33 gtr clutch on as it's actually a cheaper replacement. But when you look at clutch, coilpacks, O2 sensor etc etc etc you end up paying more for all the parts you replace lol Hope the build is going well mate, it's the dream for when I get one again
  9. When you say dump pipe replacement, do you mean new dump pipes? Stock or aftermarket? Is that included in the price?
  10. I think there's a DIY on here somewhere with pics etc, it was a while ago that I saw it though.
  11. When I was looking it seems to be the normal price. Just MAKE SURE you get the right one for your car, not sure how much/if they very over r32-34, but they do vary N/A to turbo
  12. It's the cars condition that you have to pay attention too, but I'd be looking for cars in the average mileage bracket. Ones with lower kms might be just as old and cost more
  13. All the imports loose a good chunk of their mileage when they come over, and you have no idea what the seller in Japan has done either. Take the km for what it is, worthless, have a look at it and get a mechanic to check on it.
  14. Hope you're not letting these guys get on your nerves. To to an awesome 0-100 you have to nacker the car, like really punish it. You also should do it on a hot day, on very expensive street legal tyres. You should be on stock suspension, or modified suspension for the strip, you have to have you're foot hard on the brake and build up the revs heaps, giving hell to the torque converter. Then when you go you have to make sure you're getting good productive wheelspin from those super expensive tyres (tyre have the most grip at ~10-15% slippage) etc etc. In a manual skyline for example, you'd only get 5-10 hardcore goes on a stock clutch before it was ruined.
  15. If you want to do it seriously do it at the drag strip. Otherwise you're just begging to get booked unfortunately. Just because he did a 12.4 doesn't mean the engine isn't up to scratch, it just means he wasn't trying to put his license on the line or hurt anyone.
  16. Maybe he's just honest, shifted lazily, didn't go to heaps of effort to time it, didn't get a formula 1 star start, doesn't have ideal suspension or tyres etc... did i mention honest? A lot more na skylines can do 12.4 than can do 8 flats.
  17. It's slower than my fat magna too, but speed really isn't everything. I think na drivers have a sh!t time of it, I was looking at gts's them for my p-plated brother and they're just too expensive. r33 s1 gtst's are now as low as 6k, and not for a shocking example either! Just gotta remember that it's an aweful lot more fun than the magna, and in any sort of traffic they're as fast as a veyron
  18. That name comes up a lot in recommendations, it's where I'd go.
  19. was waiting for that
  20. wow that's a lot of views, bump!
  21. r34 clutches are pull type not push, different removal procedure. The mechanic I took it to didn't know that or that it was an important difference. He's been in the industry for 30 years and assured me that he'd done the job many times. Point is, if you pay a little more to get it done right you'll be so much happier than going for cheap, them stuffing it up then then stuffing you around.
  22. I got quoted over $700 for a change on my r34 once. Have a search in the nsw section for goos skyline mechanics, there are plenty in sydney. Just don't take it to someone who hasn't been recommended or they might fk it up, happened to me.
  23. 6k can buy you a quick learner bike plus good safety gear and your licensing fees if you're careful with what you buy. Do an advanced/defensive riders course though, those things are really important for drivers let alone l-plate riders. It'll almost buy you a bottom-end-of-market r33 gtst, and another 2k will get you mid-market (for series 1's anyway, damn they're getting cheap). 3k could buy you a 3.5L 3rd gen magna which was the quickest aussie 6's of the time (stock for stock, don't try to tell falcodore owners that, they get very upset), and therefore quicker than most na skylines. Another 1k on that will buy you the best suspension setup available plus a decent droneless catback exhaust, turning a fat-ish family car into something a lot more fun. Then you still have 2k left over, which is always nice. 6k would also buy you a >190hp prelude as well, just don't get one running low on vtec. And would be more than enough for a go-kart if you wanted some real speed
  24. Second vid has been removed. Awesome build mate, hope you don't mind me asking, but was it expensive? You're description makes it seem so easy haha
