  1. Crowded can be fun if you can pass within the rules... I used to love crowded practice days in my kart
  2. Rib protector sold, just the brand spanking new bridgestone tyres to go!!
  3. Could always buy your own kart if you get hooked? I'm selling some bridgestone tyres *shameless plug* lol
  4. Every rego plate is linked to a VIN which is linked to an engine number all through the rta. You've got to assume the police have instant access to this data, including the engine info, ie: a v8. Also as said above, it's going to be luck of the draw if you get pulled over driving a restricted vehicle. Think about the morons pulled over by ^RB25 in their debadged gtt's, only to find out the officer's other car is a gts-t lol.
  5. Here's the link http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/205-55-15-KUMHO-KU31-TYRE-/170678977629#ht_2161wt_907 I too am interested if these are genuine...
  6. We should all be driving 180sx's with twin turbo vh45 conversions Ahh good, two of the greatest races of the year to prove yourself. Good luck! I'd love senna to do well, but talent and luck are yet to be seen. Maybe he'll take vengeance in the race of champions, or just go to touring cars or to the US... I doubt he'll ever be on centrelink lol. Btw on the hamilton hitting people topic, he does take too many risks, but his duels with button (much like the webber-alonso duels) are a lesson for every other driver to learn from. Respect, don't come together.
  7. Thanks for that, I had always wondered. Personally I'd hope a little leniency would be given but you get the right policeman after a rough day and it's anyone's guess what will happen.
  8. Bahahaha
  9. Sorry, I was a bit unclear. What happens if a cop is pulled over for drifting over the speed limit? Or seemingly harmlessly helping a mate out by driving his car home? Is it different, more lenient because you're probably of good character? Does it influence your work? Or are you unable to comment? lol
  10. Sorry to hear it mate. Love the trailer idea though haha
  11. 105? I thought they were the best part of $190 each? I'm not sure what that is? Lower voltage smaller gap?
  12. You got 2.5k for that?!?!?! Schmuck indeed! True, that's why I went for the one that I did. Had 190k km but looked immaculate, had good service history, and the engine bay was greasy enough that it hadn't had a clean but not a hint of an oil leak. Was much better than all the others we'd seen which all had far less kms
  13. Nice buy, there are plenty on the road. Did you go the I4 or the v6? Auto or manual. My grandmother had one of these before she passed. It sat in our driveway for 2 years untouched. When a wrecker came to pick it up, he hooked up a battery and it started on the second tickover... THE SECOND. Quicker than my skyline at the time, than either of my cars now. I couldn't believe it. He then put into Drive, and off he went onto his car-towing trailer. What speeds are these? The appropriate ones for your local speed cameras I guess? haha Ahh cheers mate. Only issue at the moment is the overdrive light, which is apparently a fuse. Oh, and also the towbar has some surface rust. Common problem, will take it off and either try to fix it myself or get a pro to sandblast and re-paint it (not paint, whatever that tough rubber stuff it). Any suggestions on who might be able to do this?
  14. Me too please if you don't mind. You always hear the good stuff publicly but it's behind closed doors that the bad stuff comes out too. Also this thread sounds very much like an ad. Are there places that don't do free quotes over the phone? Or do you mean quote as in the beverly hills place will quote you and honour it, because I've found that if there's one broken or worn or corroded bolt or something the labour price goes up and the quote goes out the window...
  15. Haha, i dunno could bring the old camry along
  16. Remember revs and vehicle history checks are a must. Also if possible get an import specialist mechanic who is very familiar with skylines to look it over. I got a Nrma check done and the mechanic didn't even notice that there were 3 different types of tyres on the car, or any of the other bigger problems...
  17. Baha, makes the speed cameras more exciting!
  18. ^Agreed Also remember that if it's burning oil, using a heavier one won't solve the problem, just hide it. And by using a different oil to what is recommended, it's not doing your skyline any favours. Dump the old oil, put something decent in, wait 5000km checking regularly, dump and repeat.
  19. Hmmm, how exactly do I keep an eye on them? Watch for the engine light and listen for knocking? How would I notice if the variable length intake manifold (didn't know it had one btw lol) is playing up? Sorry for the qs. $4700, I'm imagining we'll be using this car for a long long time though. It's so comfortable, easily enough grunt to pull a trailer on a freeway, just nice to cruise in. I just have to make sure to keep up the amorall and waxing etc to keep it in good shape. Will probably change all fluids over the next 20k km, just so I know what's in there. Might be worth putting a transmission cooler on too. How's the soarer going?
  20. Coilspacks go on the rb engines, maybe ask if they've been replaced?
  21. Might be worth referring to your specific car's manual. Was it manual from factory? If you're just referring to the first post in this thread, could A/T mean anything different?
  22. Bahaha Yeah i "heard" they were legal if you're not driving. Not sure why you'd want them though, but each to his own.
  23. Haha, massive 20's? Any suggestions though? It's not exactly an outrageous car, though any car is good after 4 weeks of borrowing family cars.
  24. We ended up getting a 2000 model auto v6, and couldn't be happier with the buy. The suspension is still firm, the power is all there, easily blasting along without going above 3k rpm. Had the trailer on it yesterday and it was fine, almost like itbwasnt there. Its got 190k (major service every 150 thou, not 100), but of the half dozen we tested over the weekend, all with much lower km, it was by far the best. Doesn't white have the torque of the 3.5 magna, but the build.quality and comfort seems much better
  25. Nice work, bet it has a fat-ass torque curve, got a slip?
