  1. I must admit i was a skeptic until i saw the pic of the piston on the exhaust side with all the little 'chips' in it. We can all speculate the laws of physics, but the pic is pretty conclusive... To give you something to compare against, i was pretty disappointed when my healthy R34 GTR made 210awkw last week, with Power FC, 2.5" front pipes, cat, 3" catback, pods, and 14 psi (200awkw on 12psi too). It does feel tough though, so don't be too fussed with the numbers too much if the car feels solid..

  5. He had finished the power runs and was tinkering with the cruise. He stated that when closed loop was enabled on the Power FC there was absolutely no alteration to the trims. He also stated that when he tested one of them it was returning zero voltage. **note, all this from vague memory, not my area of expertise**
  6. UPDATE - Bosch 02 sensors were very well priced in comparison to the OEM's, but there will be none in the country according to my local parts shop until February next year. Bosch Germany don't even have any...
  7. Spotted the sexiest 34 R on Burwood Rd tonight, bout 10:30pm with the boot up. White with black vented bonnet, black TE37's, Nismo kit - gave him the thumbs up!

  9. I had my 34 GTR dynoed earlier this week (pissy figure, but hey), and i discovered that my 02 Sensors were screwed. I was also told that they are possibly different to earlier rb's. Does anyone know whether they are different to 32's, 33's, rb25's, etc?? What do people usually replace them with, genuine or aftermarket, read Falcon items maybe a go'er in a search i did earlier. Thanks in advance.
  10. Is that temp range out of the ordinary anyways?? My stock 34 GTR runs 82-87 regularly, and up to 90 with the aircon on (MFD readings).

  14. Sorry not sure if i had the right term or not, that's why i tried to describe it. The Profec has a vacuum source which runs directly to the control unit inside the car. It has another line that runs from the solenoid, which i have t'd both actuators into. The final line is meant to run from the solenoid to the compressor housing or hot pipe according to the instructions. That is the one which i would like an opinion on.
  15. lol, that's actually what i thought about doing! Might use velcro though as R34 dash parts maybe a lil $$$ to replace.
  16. Ok. On an RB26 the inlet mani is pre-throttle bodies, so that would be close to the throttle bodies without being post, as you were suggesting. There is no crossover pipe either like other RB's. In all my previous turbo cars i have always put a barb on the hot side, because i was always under the impression that it is better to be as close to the comp housing as possible.. I maybe totally wrong, but thanks for the feedback
  17. Just installed a Profec B into my R34 GTR, and stuck on the last part. T'd the actuators into the new solenoid, blocked one hose off the factory solenoid, and blocked both plenum pressure outlets on the passenger side (found it much easier then digging in under the inlet mani). However, there are no fittings on the comp housings or hot side intercooler piping to get a reliable pressure source for the solenoid. What does everyone usually do? Take the factory source from the plenum, or drill and tap a fitting on the hot side "twin turbo" pipe? Would love to hear some options. Tried searching but the function on this board is sooo vague at times.. Also taking suggestions on mounting the unit on the underside of the dash, double-sided tape keeps coming loose

  19. There was a pic of absolutely worn out teeth on a pair HKS cam gears from a busted 2J that was doing the rounds on the interweb about 4-5 years ago. That gave rise to the myth (or not a myth - whatever). Something to do with a weaker form of alloy used in the construction of them. There was also a story about them from the same era about not have enough locating on them, leading to slippage. How much of this is true i don't know, just sharing the rumours of a few years back.

  23. Got mine today, will post up some pics to show everyone how they fit to a 34 GTR. I must say the quality is even better then what the pictures show, if you're considering them for the next group buy, you can do so with confidence.
