Ok, well i won't pursue the option of trying to fix any faulty bearings, will just hope that with a decent clutch in there the noise will be minimised to a reasonable extent...

I am selling my 06 STI due to not having driven it enough to justify owning it. It is in absolutely perfect condition, looks clean, and drives beautifully. - 2.5lt turbo, with 88,xxx kms and full service history - Metalic Silver in colour with very clean paint work. - Gold coloured STI wheels wrapped in semi-slick Bridgestone Potenza RE70's - Whiteline Super Low handling pack, with low springs, anti-lift kit, upgraded swaybars, etc. - Strut tower braces front and rear - Hi-tech $2200 turbo back 3 inch stainless exhaust system, with proper split dump pipe and hi-flow catalytic converter - Tinted windows - All standard STI features, including keypad alarm w. anti-hijacking, DCCD, intercooler water spray, STI logo steering wheel/seats/gearknob/floor matts, and spoiler kit - 6 months rego I am constantly complimented about how good it looks with the lowering kit and beautiful shade of Silver, looks fantastic in the sun! Interior and engine bay are also spotless. It handles like no other car i have driven, including GTR's and EVO's. It has run standard boost all its life but still has plenty of torque. The full exhaust system has given it plenty of power and removed any lag - it is extremely responsive. It is still very quiet below 4000rpm with a great sound up higher in the rev range. The car was originally from country NSW and used to travel to QLD, so the km's were mainly freeway driving. Currently located in Sydney I would like $37,000 but am negotiable. It's not a twin plate clutch, it's a single plate ceramic button.

I have a brand new pair of Trust Airinx air filter pods to suit an R33 or R34 GTR, in an unopened box. I am not using these due to upgrading to Z32's, and these are for standard afm's. These kits sell for $350 delivered on ebay (here), i am happy with $150 pickup in Sydney or $170 delivered

Currently got my gbox out of my 34 GTR to replace the shitbox clutch ($1900!!! one) that the previous owner fitted only 2 months ago. It was fitted by a total twit from Cairns who wrecked many other things too (don't know if i should name n shame, pm to find out who), and the spray of grease from the release bearing seems to have killed it. The symptoms i had were very heavy shudder, NO ability to take off up steep hills, and very rattley at low revs. I have been told that the noisiness is a result of either the solid flywheel that replaced that dual mass not dampening the driveline noise like the factory one would, or the input shaft bearing has been worn out by the weight of the full ceramic button clutch. Anyone have any thoughts on what this is likely to be, and whether or not the bearing can be changed without stripping the box entirely? I have conflicting reports about the ability to change it easily...

Thanks heaps for the responses guys. I will eventually change the dumps (not looking forward to that task) and will check it out personally, but thought i would get the much less labour intensive answer here first. Tuner is confident and has the runs on the board Monga, but it doesn't hurt to know a little as the consumer I'm with you totally dude. I can't see why a shattered exhaust wheel would destory the engine internals.. Comp wheel - different story.

I have searched and found contradicting posts everywhere - can anyone conclude with certainty whether they have steel or ceramic turbines? My tuner wants to run more boost through them, but i would like to know for sure if they can handle it. This is for standard 34 R's - not N1's!!!!!!

I have just purchased an R34 GTR and am not in touch with any decent mech's for them. Coming from a Subaru background, we had an awesome dude that was reliable, affordable, and we used absolutely no one else. I need to change the clutch and was simply after someone to pull it out and put back in again using a clutch i will be supplying myself. Maybe future services too. Can anyone recommend places in Sydney? Not after someone that charges 1k based on their rep, just someone reliable. Thanks guys

On the the subject of the Nismo extensions (lip, skirts, pods), anyone know if someone is remaking them in PU as opposed to fibreglass? The extensions hang so low that it makes fibreglass a bad option due to the lack in flex..
