It has carbon buttons, not ceramic. For a car with 330awkw i would have been criticised for using organic - can't win there... I do have a 34 GTR with the factory dual mass flywheel removed, so some of the noise would be from that. It just seems that it gets to a point where it does not want to move any further... -
Hey all, i've had a full monty in my daily 34 GTR for the past 6 months and i am pleased enough with how it drives, and certainly the bite it has. It is really easy to drive normally in a straight line, but am still struggling with parking. It hates being ridden to get into parking spots, rattling, squealing, bunny hopping, etc. It is most noticable when reversing. Reverse is litterally impossible at times. Is anyone else finding theirs this difficult to use in reverse??

I had the same problem with my S15 2yrs ago, can't believe the arseholes still haven't corrected their catalogue.. They are to suit older generation Nissan's, can confirm that they will definitely fit S13's - but not S14s, S15s, R34s. Great price though for a good item if it will suit your R32 or R33.

Grinding/rubbing Sound Coming From Clutch
GDZ-14R replied to Trozzle's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had the exact same issue with my old crappy NPC button clutch - it did not want to be riden at all.. Changed the entire clutch, pressure plate, release and spigot. The clutch was worn badly from improper fitment, but not sure if it was that or the spigot that caused it. Either way do your self a massive favour and ensure that the idiot who fits it cleans the entire assemebly and bell housing of all grease, and use graphite powder for assembly instead. Demand it!! -
Teins are soooo silky for daily driving, a necessity for daily driving on crappy Sydney roads... I am yet to use them on any track, so have them on the softest setting and they are without exageration smoother on the road than my mates M3. Probably not the best for handling, but that might change with the harder settings. They don't lower that much either if that is a priority. I have also had HKS Pro Performer which are smooth, handle well, but unreliable, and GReddy Type S - awesome compromise!

Rattle From Lightweight Flywheel
GDZ-14R replied to GTR1993's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Don't worry too much, S15's and R34 GTR's have a dual mass flywheel that is meant to dampen the noise in the driveline. I have had both, and in my current 34 with chrome moly flywheel and button clutch it rattles its tits off under 2k. Ride it for a couple of secs when parking and it sounds like the flywheel wants to make its way into the cabin.. -
The theory of "blocking your nose and see how hard you can blow" may not apply to an exhaust silencer I ran one for like a year on my old S15 that was fairly modified, caned it senseless on a daily basis and it did no damage. No your dilemma though. I got a 3" Nismo catback on mine, sooo quiet at lower revs, but may need to to go 3.5" and i still want quiet..

Good call! No i'm sticking with TE37's, always wanted them and now have a car that sits nicely on them.

I have used Leon before too, he really is that genuine and pleasant to deal with. -
You think too highly of me Charlie! I went with something a lil, um, cheaper and easier to get..
-
Where in the world could you get it for that price??
-
Ok my arm is twisted, 044 it is. Thanks guys. I wasn't saying that it will surge or be noisey for sure, i mentioned CAN be in first post based on some feedback others had posted. BTW, i had a walbro with rewired power source in my old mid 11sec GSR for nearly 5yrs and it never missed a beat. Granted it was noisey as all fark, especially after a long drive!!
-
Yeah that is the right approach for sure, but the Nismo item is $500+, and the bosch is cheap but requires some hacking, CAN be noisey, surge, etc. Just thought if the 34 item is a decent one to hold to it.
-
I have just searched and read up on fuel pump upgrades to suit, but not really discovered if a standard GTR pump (R34 to be exact) will suit 300-330awkw?? The only two options it seems is the expensive Nismo replacement, or the 044 that requires modification of the cradle and various fittings. Would like to know if the standard item is up to the task to avoid uneccessary mods. Anyone done it??

Just what i needed, thank heaps dude

I have found the rims that i want for my R34 GTR, just need to decide what width and tyre size i should get. They come as follows: 19x9.5 +12 19x10.5 +12 The car is a daily and i don't want rubbing or rubber sticking out of the guards. Can anyone suggest what would be widest but easiest size to fit either 265 or 275's to?? Ideally i could get a 10" wide rim and run 265's to be safe, but they don't come in that size... Thanks heaps for any thoughts in advance, and for those who will surely bring it up - i already have a spare set of 18's.
