  1. ok no worries, also wats the best way to set to boost so i know its putting the right psi through like i said my boost controller tells me a % and im not really sure how to read/use it
  2. ok thanks mate so theres no way to set it to i can see the actual psi on the boost controller im currently using a PRofec B-spec II, if not is my best bet to just get somone to fiddle with it while driving it and keep a eye on boost guage?
  3. ahh k thanks heaps mate, yeh i heard stock psi was 8, one other thing, sorry for stupid questions btw, my boost controller reads in % does this mean its a % of the stock psi ? so if i set it to 20% its 8 psi + (20% of 8) ? so id be running at 9.6 psi?
  4. hey guys i got a stock r33 gtst other then cooler and air intake. whats the max boost i should be putting through it. i have a boost controller which reads off % does this mean it reads off % of the stock psi? if so what is the stock psi of a gtst ? thanks
  5. hey guys just recently got my hands on a r33 gtst, im new to the whole turbo scene and wanna sort some stuff out to be sure im not doing damage to my car in the mean time, firstly, my car has a electronic boost controller which has 2 settings, lo and hi. the boost controller reads in a %, does this mean its calculated from a % of the stock boost? and if so what is the stock boost a r33 gtst, ive heard its 8 psi. when saying this i mean if i set my boost controller to 20% for my lo setting this would mean id be running, 8 psi + (20% of 8 = 1.6) so my total psi would be 9.6. Also wat would be a good safe lo and hi setting, lo for everyday use and hi for an occasional use, i was thinkin 8 for lo and 12 for hi? also the car came with a after market air intake, Ive been told to remove it and replace it with a stock air box because they suck in to much hot air and increase work for my cooler but ive also been told thats not true and to leave it. sorry for any stupid questions just wanna clear things up so many people telling me different things. thanks
  6. is it true that if u don't recirculate the excess pressure from Ur bov back into the system it can cause issues? i had a hks ssqv fitted to mine for a short amount of time but did int have the hose blocked, i found my car stalling etc, and when i took it off and replaced it with the stock one i found my car running very rich and miss firing alot untill the ecu reset y was that
  7. ok no worries guys thanks, it doesn't have a stock air box in it atm its currently got a after market one but from what Ive heard they just suck in hot air and cause Ur cooler to work harder is this true and if so should i just replace it with a stock air box and ebay the after market one? also my boost controler shows % does this mean its % of the standard psi which is 8, is that correct? therefore if i set it to 30%, it would be 8 + (30 % of 8 = 2.4) so total psi would be 10.4, is this correct? and sorry guys just new to the whole turbo scene. any tips on to keep it maintained or mods to start with would also be greatly appreciated thanks a lot mark
  8. Hey guys i just purchases a skyline r33 gtst, new to the whole turbo thing. am i better to stick with the stock air box and customisw the intake so it gets direct cold air flow,or replace it although ive heard the others can cause ur car to intake hot air and loose performance? also wat should psi should i be running the car at? i have it running at 20% on low so im guessing this means 20% of the standard psi which is 8 this would mean 20% of 8 = 1.6 so 1.6 + 8 = 9.6 psi is this correct? and if so wat % should i be running it at on lo and hi? low being for everyday use thanks guys
