car is a 33 series 2 gtst.. stock turbo is on its way out. Considering a brand name turbo is going to set me back big $$$ i was considering a cheaper turbo. i.e Chinese / brazilian turbo. I know everyone has opinions on the cheaper stuff "you get what you pay for" but im just looking for a replacement for the stock turbo.. I'm not after big HP either. Yes i've done research and as always i end up sitting on the proverbial fence. I just dont want to spend thousands on a turbo thats going to do the same job as a $700-$800 turbo. Opinions? Advice? flame on!

Anyone got one of these? Ive got the same (except in psi) and for the life of me i cant work out how to stop the start up noise (never really bothered me until now. Im sick of the 5 second screaming noise whenever i turn the car on) the instructions say to hold down the peak button when starting the car.. It doesnt work - ive tried all other combinations i.e holding it down when car is completely off then turning it on... having it on accessories then holding it down and starting the car.. nothing seems to work! Also being that my skyline is fairly stock im hearing a slight scraping noise near the turbo. I was thinking the turbo is on its way out but it still makes approx 10psi by 4000rpm-5000rpm. The turbo was on its way out surely it shouldnt still be making decent boost? (I've tested it by turning down the boost - then upping the boost to get R&R)

i did it with good old rags and degreaser - then autosol on the shiny parts.. never used a steam cleaner - people say just cover up the electricals and try not blast directly at them. A few mates have had theirs done professionally. Not sure how much but the results were pretty good.

imo - keep looking... mileage is pretty high, rims are way too big (big $$$ when it comes time to replace them, not to mention the ride would be quite unforgiving) the colour just screams attention. not to mention non turbo with a gtr badge. but hey, if it checks out, and you like it go for it..

i had a slight bit of rust on the both doors at the bottom where the door meets the A pillar. I just cut it out, slapped some rust coverter on it - primed it with some grey paint - touched up with white.
