  1. the temp didnt change much, and tyre pressures? that was the last thing on my mind lol
  2. it might be cheaper for him to get something from china or japan directly. he lives in the UK
  3. externally the motors are the same yes? the blocks i mean, the intake on the VQ25DET is quite different to the DE varieties
  4. there are carbon cleaning services (via mechanical workshops) that perform what ill call 'non-invasive' carbon clean outs. i think they flush the injectors with a fluid, and also a cleaning agent into the intake piping to remove all the oil build up there, and also in the combustion chamber. im not sure how effective it is, but people have had performance increases (probably close to factory) and increased fuel economy. i dont know how well it would fare with Di motors, but i guess oil/carbon build-ups are the same in pretty much all motors. im surprised to see EGR on a fairly recent motor like yours. i thought they stopped using it in the 90s when 3-way cats became more cost effective and fuel management was better? as for crank case ventilation, its sucks that ALL motors suffer from this necessary evil.
  5. i saw your post about the Di motors and lacking performance. i should suggest something in that thread. i had a thought!
  6. forced induction FTW is yours auto or manual? AWD or RWD? id love to see how the 350S goes....... hmm tasty
  7. i think craig (jetwreck) was getting around the 6.3-6.5sec 0-100km/h
  8. +1 on aero kits ruling. i think he is jealous
  9. theres no way in hell im closing the airbox off!! i need that sound!! haha but let us know how you go. as a comparison, my S15 got around 50km per tank MORE when i put a pod filter on (only mod) putting an exhaust on made me lose the 50km per tank. but it hauled ass id like to see how it affects consumption if you can please post up and results you get mate
  10. plus you learn something at the same time!
  11. nope, mine are working fine - for the moment. but id probably get in there and do this to save some cash.
  12. ahh duh, i should stop posting while watching tv. thanks for clearing that up but you cant say a TB makes NO difference at all. besides the fact that i have dyno proof
  13. wow i had no idea it was lighter than water. sounds right though, it floats on water lol
  14. hey look its another pink one!! hahah just kidding, nice ride chad. and im all for attempting a fix before you take it to anyone. best way to learn!
  15. just use another fuel for ages, eventually it will just get rid of the build up. i only use BP fuel now after only ever using shell for a long time. i rekon the M35 runs much better on the BP than the shell
  16. i bet its cheaper than a new motor tho
  17. sorry yes it does, i should have specified at WOT
  18. i should get my bitchar-g cars out again
  19. ohh yeah another thing, if you find the latch all the way down, and its still vibrating. get a block of wood and a hammer and beat the catch in the bonnet up a little. i had to do that on one of my cars.... i called it a 're-alignment'
  20. also, if your bonnet sits too high after adjusting those knobs, turn them back down so the bonnet is flush when in the closed position, then adjust the latch down a few mm at a time till the bonnet doesnt move anymore. you may need to move the rubber stoppers up a little to compensate for moving the latch down. just be careful you dont have the rubber stoppers too high and the latch too low, you MIGHT bend the bonnet.
  21. im not sure how true this is, but, i was told even changing fuel types (brands) can affect consumption due to additives/detergents in the fuels. your car was probably run on a particular type of fuel (people get into rhythms) in japan, over here you have used something else and the car needs to get 'used' to it....... im told that shell fuels leave build ups in the fuel system and when you change to something else, you wont get as good consumption, thus you go back! anyway, not sure how true it is, but its food for thought!
  22. of course there is no boost difference after you changed it, it doesnt change the boost! it decreases a restriction in the intake piping. i have dyno outputs before and after a TB was done on a 'lowly' SR20. bumped 170rwkw to 175rwkw.
  23. it only makes a difference if youre increasing boost levels, if youre not, then it will just add lag as its filling a bigger volume. that said, its cooling properties will be better, and summer intake temps will probably be better than the stock cooler, even if you dont turn up the boost
  24. TB makes a good difference on the top end even on mildly modified engines. im looking for something, maybe a VQ35DE one is larger than the VQ25DET
  25. hahah maybe they are paper mache people
