  1. yeah id like to know also. im guessing its a remap service?
  2. the mrs might be using her car that night. so i may bring the stagea anyway
  3. have a look in the ECU thread, i posted some pics of my ECU in hires according to chris rogers, its totally different to even a V35, and they are very similar cars
  4. rofl, its already done mate. you missed out! haha
  5. i think ill head up this week too. might bring the fiat to save petrol. not sure at this stage. if its clean maybe ill get some night shots of it somewhere
  6. mine idles fine andy could be onto something, it might override the idle setting till you swich off the ignition. its possible its never 'written' to the ECU. it may only be possible via the consult..........
  7. who knows ay! i think i want to check my boost tho. see what im pushing
  8. ahhh so they break up from excess heat and too much boost! (no not you anthony)
  9. haha craig you should really do up the banjo bolt for the oil line. and there are studs already in the back of the turbo? or did you put them all there (my idea) ?
  10. go on the new airbus 380!! dont really, apparently they are plagued with problems. anyway, andy has one he can confirm pretty much anything! and from the pics, it DOES have bolts both end, the compressor wheel is metal. the turbine has too much oil on it to tell what its made from
  11. hahah i bet it does hold the wings on, but i bet the wings dont get as hot as a turbo
  12. thats what i thought! so i find the use of glue hard to believe in a turbo, what glue will handle more than 700odd degrees? i think its to do with the actual rotation of the turbine exceeding a maximum rpm and then coming apart as being ceramic it cant stay together with those forces and heat.
  13. yup on the back of the headlight unit are some manual adjustment screws. as for exactly where, or which direction to turn im not sure, but im 150% sure they are there. they must be there actually for minor adjustments etc. just beware there will be a seperate pair of adjustment for lo and hi beam
  14. the compressor wheel is most certainly metal on an M35 turbo. i have seen andys one to confirm. i cant remember exactly, andy you can confirm this, but i think the turbine is bolted to the shaft, not glued, as is the compressor. but i dont have the auction pics on me to be sure.
  15. duh! of course N1! i friggen identified it hahaha hahah take your wife for a ride and ask her to look at the gauges while you hammer it
  16. the exhaust is whats left of houdinis exhaust that he has removed. ill get the rest made up locally to the cat. and do the rest when i get the cash! i cant remember the brand. but its what i was looking for! might do one on the fiat too if the mrs lets me
  17. ohhhh i want one now did you drive that one from northshore??
  18. nah dont worry, when funds allow ill be buying an EBC. i just bought the rear half of a JDM cat-back exhaust tonight
  19. hahahah mine hasnt been done in 10+ i should do one too very soon!
  20. why waste time and money? thats both things that could be put into a car!!
  21. youre forget to mention what tyres youre running. they might have phenominal wet braking abilities and you dont need abs because they arent locking up
  22. my car is apparently stock. after going in your car i can sorta hear your turbo boosting, in my car, its loud as hell! its possible mine is already different. maybe failing in japan but yes, im happy to chuck the boost gauge on my car for a looksee, i actually wouldnt mind chucking it on the dyno - when the cash allows.
  23. that would indicate they have different ECUs....... anyone with an ARX wanna remove their ecu and get the part number from it?
  24. lol you quoted something from wikipedia about valves and intake manifold. its the exhaust wheel that comes off not the compressor. yes i know they are connected by a shaft i didnt see pics of craigs turbo post failure, wish i did! haha anyway, scotty is onto something, with the common failure of boosted RB turbos, they would 'probably' fix that problem knowing that people mod their cars. i think our turbos are more robust than people think. personally, i think most of the problems come from people in japan not performing regular services thus the oil loses its lubrication properties and the turbo fails. the engine is probably a little more leanient to bad oil, but turbos get hot and there isnt much room inside the oil channel so gunk can build up and create problems. thats MY opinion anyway
  25. andy and i have seen the dump that craig has. f**k its pretty!
