just make sure that the spring doesnt come unseated when the strut is fully extended. generally thats what the helper spring is there for.

having owned a few cars, only 1 didnt have a cat. the only reason why i didnt put one in because i really liked the raspy sound and the nice flames i agree about the envinronmental issues, yes they are bad. and we really should do our bit........ however like O2 sensors, cats have a life of up to 100k (i think its around that) but like craig already said, no one changes them. however, there is more of a 0.1% power drop. its more like ~3% just stirring mate!

i should confirm that mine idles high on a cold start, and then around 600-800 on warm idle. the longer i sit at idle, the lower the RPM goes. mines been as low as 500 (from the tacho) but who knows what it really might be

how do you perform the learning procedure? how many ks were on your car? i cleaned my TB at around 90k and it was filthy like yours. mine wasnt stalling however. next step im gonna remove all the intake manifold and give that a thorough clean out. and youre welcome! thats what this forum is for!

ok as far as i can tell there is no AAC/IAC valve. being that the throttle is controlled by the computer, thus it doesnt need the other valve i took my TB off the car completely (be VERY careful with the gasket) and cleaned the shit out of it. carby/tb cleaner is probably the best stuff. be careful of the motor, i didnt remove that from the assembly. i was just careful not to get it too wet. while all thats off, pull a plug out and check it anyway. youll need to take off half the piping to get the TB off anyway, so pulling a plug out wont be much trouble while youre there

well, stephen can get the nismo kit and you buy his aero kit! its in perfect nick. but yeah i prefer plastic over fibreglass. with plastic welding its piss easy to repair. hence why damaged ones still fetch decent prices on the yahoo auctions.

cleaned AFM? cleaned TB? i bet its choked up! checked to make sure your CAS has been changed (i believe andy had similar stalling problems due to this) done the spark plugs too??

i cant believe youd get rid of your aero kit for a nismo!! anyway, jpave, youd be surprised how many cars come into the country from japan that have been repaired (even very well) and the owner never knows. i rekon if the car HAS been repaired well, it all lines up and is mechanically fine, and youre comfortable with the price, then get it anyway.
