  1. ill shine the torch in the clutster for you to see if the panels appear. the LCD will be harder i guess but ill check it now for you. i take it you havent done an M35 yet?? or played with one?
  2. hmm i was just telling Andy that i could handle aftermarket cruise as long as its got the factory buttons. (gotta talk to you about the radio ones - ill PM you) but ill wait for your testing to complete on the V35. personally they are overrated, i think the M35 is a much nicer looking car, and it has turbo, and nothing is better than a turbo (waiting for some V35 owners to bite:) )
  3. damn thats the stuff i wanted to hear! not that Andy and Craig werent helpful! after hearing this, and reading the V35 sections and how long the english translation is taking, i MIGHT piss it all off and see if there is a touch screen that will fit in there and then put a PC in the DVD drive slot. from there USB (maybe) tv tuner, GPS the usual stuff. but all PC based. costly, but MAY be worth it. mines a 2001/2002, it was sold as a 2001 but its an aero selection (2002+??) and the seatbelts are also 2002. but anyway, slightly off topic, i saw your info regarding the factory cruise control and fitting it. anymore progress or is it too much of a shit-fight to get it working?
  4. thanks got it! maybe the 3 of us should meet up. might be easier! lol
  5. both sides have a box on my car but yeah i remember seeing the scaryness of Chris' pics!!
  6. im not sure the camera uses the tv tuner, but who really knows. looks like a dealer option by the way the camera wiring was installed. maybe i should just remove the centre console and check it out - while i fix the tiptronic direction. f**king annoying! damn accord euro had it wrong too! lol
  7. hahah ive just been browsing through the V35 section finding this exact information! ive read up what Chris' TV tuners will do and have the relevant docos to go with it. i have a reverse camera so thats 1 tv input used, but as you said, the NTSC tv tuner is using one also. thanks for your reply! i might take you up on the offer to check out these mods on your car
  8. Ok heres my question, maybe someone else on here has done this already. I want to remove the satnav DVD drive and replace it with a DVD player for movies etc for my passengers. im sure this is simple enough to do. my question is this; what is the interface for the screen for that function? is it just an RCA? or something else as the buttons control the satnav as well. how does the sound interface?? RCAs again or some splicing?? i dont want to use the TV input, because i eventually want to put in a digital TV tuner in its place. any help is much appreciated! i like the fact the DVD will be hidden by the flap and no one knows its there. found the button that lets me watch tv while driving! handy
  9. thats what happens when you work for a US multi-national. lucky i work in the IT department so ill be here till mid-ish next year. still doesnt mean im going to work hard till then my redundancy/retainer will pay off the laptop and buy me some camera gear too. and then some mortgage...
  10. i dont have a job for much longer, so im not taking any chances getting stuck in that traffic every day. so i make an executive decision and go in late every day. had to go in early today because my laptop was arriving lol
  11. yes i have!! and yes i was, drove out of my driveway and stopped lol i should really leave 10 mins earlier and beat that traffic. today i didnt sleep in long enough to completely miss the traffic all together........
  12. spotted a silver M35 ARX going around the peanut at midway shops this morning around 7.55. tried to catch up but there was WAY too much traffic
  13. then im f*ck out of ideas then!!
  14. you got reverse sensors or reversing camera? might be for that?
  15. thats awesome news!!
  16. yeah that torque gauge will work in the wet. trust me although i dont have one (RX and ARX lacks the 3 gauges) i can feel the front grabbing as the rear loses traction. and yeah kick-downs are horrible. flooring it to kick back takes longer than half-throttle to kick back i rekon. because of this ive had to adjust my 'pull out' technique when i see a lane empty lol
  17. ok, can someone show me where i could have checked the status online?? or is this a service only Carmen Imports offer??
  18. i remember an old rotary motto "Rotary drivers do it with less torque and more noise" its surprisingly true!!
  19. its faster than an X5?? im ok with that i havent really had an opportunity to give it some stick from the lights etc. but it moves when i want it to. i wish the gearbox was a little faster however..... still happy!!!
  20. hahah i rekon it IS age, im ejoying the comfy ride too. and it kicks ass for a wagon, no one expects it to pickup speed like it does, especially in sydneys eastern suburbs.
  21. too many to list on my silvias lol but on my M35 my fav mod is removing the airbox intake hole. mostly because its free and makes a nice sound
  22. congrats mate!!!! awesome car hey? i STILL find excuses to drive mine lol
  23. nah nothing from the drivers seat. and i just open the glass and stick my hand in to open the tailgate, no need to get into the boot via the backseat.... i mean like i first did to get it open
  24. dude youre gonna love it!!! and good luck! but i agree about the being patient bit. i was calling up every day for 2 weeks till i got the car. feel i got the run around a bit. but its all good i got it now!
  25. there IS a magical button, its the manual release inside the boot door if you open the tailgate, near the lock on what would face the front of the car when closed is a small panel, pop it out and you can use that to open the boot if your button doesnt work. thats what im using thanks to another thread!
