nope no point in translating. my instrument cluster doesnt supply the information to the screen anymore. not that i used it anyway, i was wrong. with the stock deck you cant have radio/cd playing on and tv on the screen. i just tested it then, as soon as you hit the TV button, it puts the head unit into the AUX input for the tv sound. if you click anything else on the head unit, it would stop tv showing on the screen. now that i dont have that communication happening, i can have the TV showing on the screen, but whatever i want from the head unit as its an aftermarket one. so this works out perfectly for me! i have all the cables from jaycar now, so ill be able to run the video to the rear for ipod video to the tuner, and audio from the tuner to the aux input to the tuner i was gonna do it tonight, but CBF really. got 1 month free foxtel on xbox so ill make the most of it haha

sorry i was just saying thats the only reason why i would want to change to a 'proper' coilover setup. my BCs are fine! i dont mind that they are seperate. and i agree about the mount point. its fairly weak for the contant barrage of australian roads pounding that spot on the rail. it will crack and break in no time.

yeah no i dont wanna swap i have a screen override thingo installed. works fine. when i push the screen down and pop it back up. it doesnt go back to the last used function (ie TV) anyway, ill try turning the override off and see if that changes its operation

OK so as my screen is pretty much useless with the Nismo dash, i want to use it purely for the VTR input of the TV function. Everyone time i open it, it opens to the GPS. Any way to force it to TV all the time? I understand grounding some wire in the rear forces the AUX input of the tuner, but this isnt an issue for me. I just dont want to press 'TV' every time i open the screen. Yes i could leave it up all the time, but i dont want it on all the time..... I should try removing the disc from the DVD drive, but i think this will just leave an error up on screen and ill have to press TV anyway

i got a samsung galaxy tab (telstra version) rooted and installed gingerbread. wow its a completely different tab now. it actually works with speed!! those universal mounts are good, but you have to make sure the GPS antenna can get reception for the navigation to work properly

yeah i see your point. its a piece of hardware purposely designed for that. not like a PC that can be pretty much anything. well, id love to see it running! you have the factory screen too right?

with converting it he can buy a 'standard size' spring for that coilover and pretty much any spring rate he wants. the BCs arent straight springs on the rear like they are on the front

i havent had a crash or BSOD since windows 7 came out. people just have no idea how to configure machines

AFAIK its electronic, probably done by the BCM. yes its quiet, and when in reverse it doesnt work dont you notice the green flashing indicator light on your cluster?

ohh damn, i bet mine will do that too! might mean BT streaming for me........... i dont like the idea of unplugging the USB cable all the time as i want it plugged in permanantly and the video lead to the TV tuner AV input. Aaron, quality didnt appear to change. but i couldnt get it up very lound due to neighbours. BT has enough bandwidth for a 128k/sec music stream AFAIK.

yup the blade can be copied from your existing key the PCB is the hard(er) bit to find.

FINALLY installed the new head unit. has an extra feature i didnt realise. the music kept playing when i unplugged the ipod cable. yes, music over BlueTooth! just gotta put the AUX cable in and run all the crap to the rear tv tuner, and finally mount that properly. maybe i wont show up to work tomorrow..........
