  12. Thanks to all the guys and gals involved in making Texi such an awesome day! Had an absolute blast out there! Looking forward to seeing the results
  13. Hey would you be willing to take the camshafts and CAS out of the complete engine? Cheers, Sheri *sorry just saw your post that you dont want to part the engine - no worries
  14. Thanks Rolls not 100% sure how it actually happened. the CAS may have seized, but all things considered i would have expected that to cause the locator on the CAS side to break. either way I will be looking into it all again with the new information in mind. now to the for sale forum i go
  15. Hey Guys, ohk, so due to time restrictions i'm trying to line someone else up to actually fix this problem. The issue now is i need a new part to replace the broken one. I am trawling for service/workshop manuals to find what part i need, but struggling a litte. So the CAS has a spline with a fitting joint inside according to the diagram i have. It is the fitting joint on the engine side which has broken. Does anyone know what this is called? or what exact part in the engine it is attached to? any help would be really awesome! sheri
  16. Well we have discovered the problem - we think... The locater for the CAS sensor - has sheared off from the engine side. (there is a half circle locator in teh shaft of the CAS - which matches a half circle locator on the engine side.) until this is fixed and the timing reset we cant be sure of anything else with the car. which suck. but hopefully after this has been fixed it will at least start again Thanks everyone for your help!
  17. Lol well r32 is more convenient as it doesnt involve a car trailer :-P but as that may or may not be running who knows! Thanks for the info, 180 will be all good if I do bring it
  18. Lol ive had numerous encounters with flat batteries, and I wish this issue were only that. The battery is new and fully charged. Most of the time it is attached to a battery charger while we are testing. As I had said the starter motor didnt "feel" like it was clicking, but after taking off the cam gear cover, you can see the gears turning over. So clearly the solenoid in the starter is doing what it's supposed to Thanks for the suggestion though
  19. Yes fuel pump is definitely priming and pumping fuel into the fuel rail. It's unknown if it's pushing through enough pressure though. Though that is leading to the question of where is the fuel going? As the car is pushing air out the exhaust, though doesn't appear fuely. And if it is igniting, well then what is stopping the car from starting (again leading back to electrical/ecu/unknown sensor) Tonight I will be having a look at the ecu, unsure if testing will be possible, but will definitely try for that. Will also be trying to swap the CAS for a known working one as well. Hoping to have it fixed Texi in June so here's hoping something tonight works!
  20. Ok not the result I wanted. Tested injectiors using noid light/ injector test light, with a positive result. Unable to test all the injectors without removing all the surrounding mess. Next suggestion has been fuel pressure, or something electrical. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts? Currently running very low on both.
  21. ok so testing injectors after work today... here's hoping a result is found
  22. H'ok, so hypothetically speaking, if my car were to die, and be unable to drive for Texi, BUT I would like to drive my other car (which is track ready, but not street registered) - who would i need to tell/what would the conditions be?
  23. Thanks jezza, haven't checked the CAS with a working one. But the car is definitely turning over, with the cam cover off you can see the gears turning. Tried changing coil packs with working ones, but still no joy. Even with a leak in the air intake, it should still start though right? Hoping my boyfriend can borrow a Nissan diagnostic tool from his work tomorrow. Hoping that might pick up something that ecu talk missed. Otherwise I think it will be time to send it to a good auto sparky . . .
  24. ok so in addition to that... the starter doesnt sound/feel like its clicking... but the engine is turning over... so not having much luck.... thoughs and suggestions appreciated
  25. ok, so have checked the igniter pack, swapped it with a working one and no change to the car. have been using consult cable to check dtc's, Nothing found. did notice corrosion on injector plugs (previous owner lived on the beaches - i do not) so potentially has been like that for a year or more. start attempts still dont sound quite right. Starter motor is turning, but i cannot feel the solanoid clicking... so will continue investigations down that tangent... all suggetions welcome
