  1. Guys, Ive also got 4 brand new Front & Rear Nissan OEM Brake Rotors. They did about 1500kms on the car before being switched out to AP J hooks. I'll sell them for $500 each or $1500 for the lot. Thanks. Miles. 0418 290 615.
  2. Hi Guys, Ok I've got some used spare parts and I'm prepared to let them go pretty cheap to free up some space in the garage. 2010 OEM 20 inch wheels with 50% used Dunlop's - $3,000 (There are a few scratches on two of the wheels. Easily fixed if repainted though) Full exhaust - $2,500 80 mm straight through dump pipes 100 mm twin resonated midpipe 90 mm Rear section Inc two mufflers This is the full exhaust that I ran on the car at Bathurst last November. Its not going to save you as much weight as a titanium system would but its still much lighter than stock and It's super quiet for daily driving but when you get the power down it comes on song very nicely. It's good for up to 800 hp. I'm selling it because I need something lighter. here is a clip of how it sounds 2x OEM Front seats - $5,000 for both 2x OEM Doors white - $5,000 for both 1xOEM Bonnet white - $3,000 2xOEM Turbo Chargers - $4,000 for both Give me a call or email if your interested. 0418 290 615 [email protected] Miles..
  3. no prob dude. all good. such a weapon of a car... bring on next year.
  4. haha... who needs a girlfriend when you have a GTR? just think if you didnt have a wife & kids you could have been there with me... you let the team down dude...
  5. adjusting belts because the car is so f**king fast i have to keep strapping in tighter.. when you hit the brakes it tries to throw you through the front window. I dont think any traditional manual box could do a 2.15 - not unless they were a pro driver. look at all the cars under 2.20 they have double clutch or sequential boxes which to me is basically the same.
  6. Thanks for all the comments guys. First up a massive thanks to CRD for all the time and effort that they put in to get this car to the mountain again, since last year we have put a cage in it, stripped out about 60kgs, added bigger injectors and Sucrogen E85 this all equals about 600 hp and 1050 nm of torque. Other than the new Bilstein Suspension & Forged Performance Sway Bars the car is the same as last year. The car ran so strong all week and we never had one reliability issue. Its a testament to Jim, Josh & Con at CRD - i recon Josh could be the No1 R35 mechanic in the country - no one has spent as much time on an R35 as he has. This car has run strong now for two and a half years and nothing has blown up or broken touch wood! I'm honestly surprised that the thing hasnt detonated given the absolute hiding ive given it... Ive also got to thank Bilstein / Heasmans (Jonathon & Brad) for the Suspension set up and advice over throughout the event. If any of you guys out there are thinking about aftermarket Suspension then the Bilstein MDS gear from Germany is the only option (this is the same stuff used by Nismo but its the steel bodied shock Vs the Nismo aluminum gear. Forget all the others out there HKS, Tein, JRZ etc the Bilsteins are by far superior and best of all they are fully serviceable and tuneable here in Sydney at Heasmans. I'm also happy to share our Eibach Spring Rates plus Bump and Rebound settings. Also massive thanks to Martin Donon from Willall. My gearbox has 26,000 kms on it with Willall fluid and it hasnt missed a beat. Martin also supplied me with the Brake Spray kit and it was simply awesome. This allowed me to really give the brakes punishment for 5-8 laps. Around Bathurst thats a massive effort so thanks Willall. Lastly if you want to get a cage in this car then Chris from Killer Customs is your man... Quick rundown of the event. Honestly on Thursday morning i was struggling to find set up and confidence in the car, i was lapping at about 2.25 and wasnt sure that i would go faster than last year. We made so many changes with set up and i hadnt had a chance to test it at the creek before the event due to rain. Along with the Bilsteins we changed the Front Upper arms to the Dodson arms for -4 degree front Camber and we put Hard Race rear arms for -2.5 degree camber. I also went to a much bigger Michelin Slick 28/71/18 on the front and 31/71/18 on the rear. So to help find some confidence i asked Steven Richards if he could take me for a few laps in the car so i could see where the grip was. Bathurst is one of those places that you think you remember what its all about but then you quickly realise that its going to take some adjustment and your concentration levels have to step right up. Anyhow Steven did 2 laps with me and on his second lap ripped off a 2.19. That was it for me - i immediatley found what i was missing and next session out on Thursday i was lapping in the 2.19's as well. We then set about making some changes to the car. We changed the rebound settings and Bump settings and moved the front sway bar to full stiff. Friday morning i did a 2.17.9 and then asked Steven to again take me for a few laps - he did a 2.17.4 with me ridding passenger. From here it was just a matter of getting my lines tighter and getting the braking points perfect. Sunday morning session we got the 2.15 straight up. The lap wasnt that clean and i made a few mistakes but the car was running out of Brakes by the 3rd flying lap and at turn 2, the S's and the Elbow i didnt think i would pull it up. I had to get it into the corners just a bit sooner than i wanted because the track was so dirty off line i didnt want to run the risk of going wide into the marbles which would have put me in the wall like one of the Lambo's. Anyhow if i had another crack i recon there may have been another 1-2 seconds in the lap but we'll save it for next year and go back and crack 2.10. thats the plan... Must also thank: Ryan & Sharif at Forged Performance Stephen at Just Jap Trevor from Michelin Bruce Hibbard for just being a legend and giving me the confidence to push hard
  7. Thanks Jonathon for clearing that up. Yes i was driving and im going to give you guys a full rundown of the event tonight when i can get a minute. Miles.

Yeah Mark agree with you there. Sorry i meant that all tyres were consistent with each other and yep different temps from outside, middle to inside. Im running 35-36 hot in the slicks and it actually takes quite a bit of time to get it right. Im finding that you have to do 3 laps come back in and drop the pressures, then do another 3-4 laps and check them again, possibly let more air out. Usually after this you can then leave them and they cool down and heat back up to about 35 without having to come in and check them every time. We need to run our cars back to back!
  9. thanks fellas. Its not that hard to get your car there honestly, i can help you organise it anytime you want to go. Just send it with CEVA to Melbourne. Fly down and drive it to the island. Easy!!! The car doesnt have that many power mods really. Its got HKS Intercoolers, HKS Tranny cooler, HKS Boost controller, HKS Intercooler piping, Mines filters, COBB, full exhaust etc... Its only putting out 385kw at the wheels on 98 fuel. Ive managed to lighten it though by about 100kg which makes a big difference...
  10. Ive been trying to get the GTR back to Phillip Island ever since we did the Nissan GTR drive day their with Mizuno & Toshio. I managed to get a solid 3 days driving by combining Sat practice, Sunday Sprint and Monday track day with Drive Events. I sent the car down with CEVA logistics in their race transporter which meant no issues like 09 GTR has with Toll last year. It cost $900 to be picked up from my office and dropped in Melb CBD. From here i picked up the car and drove it to the Island. Sat morning i ran my road tyres for 1 session just to get the feel for the track but it was clear after 5 laps that i was wasting my time on the Dunlops and lap times were about 1.47 to 1.48 straight up. After the 1st session i put a brand new set of 19 inch Michelin slicks on and WOW I knew that we were going to be flying by the end of the weekend. So after a few more sessions on Sat I called it a day so i could leave the slicks in good condition for the Sunday Sprint. Sunday morning 1st session sucked. They didnt let the cars out in order of speed and i got caught up with traffic and no matter what i did i couldnt get a clean lap... i would let everyone pass and then take off after them but it didnt matter cause i would catch them in half a lap... anyway i pulled in early on the 1st session a bit pissed cause i dusted up the slicks quite a bit trying to get a lap in. Next session was better - they let me out first and i made sure that all 26 cars were on track behind me before i took off on my flying laps. I got 2 flying laps before catching up the back of the field and we were down into the 1.43's or so. Third session much the same happened but i managed to get a 1.42.055 out of the car. This ended up being my fastest time and the fastest time for the weekend. The closest guys were about 3-5 secs slower. So all up a great weekend and i know the car can go sub 1.40 with the right conditions of slicks, I also need to perfect my lines on the track remembering that id never driven here before this weekend. We did the track day on monday as well but the car developed a big missfire due to some fueling issues and stuffed plugs - so called it a day and the car is now resting before getting another hammering on the 4th March at the island again. This track is honestly next to Bathurst the best track ive ever driven. Its so fast and smooth. If you can somehow get your car down there its a must do... Here are some recent pic's of the car. Next up is a rollcage cause its just too fast now... and i cant run Bathurst this year on slicks without a cage... So ive got the fastest laps now at Bathurst and Phillip Island... Next up im off to Sandown to set the fastest GTR lap in Early April at the Sandown Sprint then back up to Eastern Creek to beat Dunc & Marek... watch out boys im coming for your lap times...

guys im only running -2.5 front -2 rear and honestly i think its about all you need. Ive run my GTR at EC, Bathurst, and now Phillip Island (probably done more track time than anyone in Australia at the moment) and unless someone can prove to me with lap time improvements that its worth another 3-5k investment in getting more camber i think you are wasting your money. If it makes any difference its marginal. My 19inch Michelin slicks after 3 days at the Island last weekend were worn perfectly evenly and tyre temps were consistent across the tyres all weekend etc.
  12. Just watched my video footage of the 2.21 lap at bathurst and at 299 on the speedo on 19inch slicks in 6th the rev shift lights are on. So Dunc im very close to hitting limiter in 6th. Speedo has to be reasonably accurate i think.
  13. P.S. have you had a close look at how much wider the 20 inch slicks are Vs your 18's... There is a Big difference. If that sidewall on those yokohamas is Stiff - then for sure this is going to be the best option. Remember we are not really racing on these tyres so all that stuff below may not be that appropriate for our 4-5 lap sprints. 1. The increased diameter of the tread band permits easier conformation of the tire to the flat road surface; the tire's tread “maps” to the road surface more readily. This results in improved temperature distribution and increased performance over a longer duration. 2. The greater diameter also increases the total amount of tread rubber available to transfer power to the ground, again improving temperature distribution and prolonging performance consistency. 3. The taller sidewall helps cushion the shock of power application, providing more progressive corner exit with less wheelspin during aggressive acceleration. Then again maybe im way off????
  14. fellas the 19s were awesome, i loved them. hard to draw a conclusion between Paul and I because my car was set up a lot better and I also had a lot more seat time over the 5 days Vs Paul only about 3 days. By end of the Sprint i was about 5 sec's quicker than Paul. But ive got no doubt he can do the same times as me when his new car is set up better. Sure the 18's have more sidewall but my 19s were a little wider i think. Ive got some video which shows me pulling 299 down the straight and Pauls car on 18's was pulling virtually the same numbers. Really came down to who had the better setup... I was flat till last sec and after backing off and pulling 5th was getting into the chase at 260 showing on speedo. When i pulled 5th into the chase the engine was working hard touching the rev limiter most of the time so im guessing that if anyting the actual speed was 10-20kmph lower if you know what i mean. Honestly i dont think we will see much difference between 18s and 19s. But Dunc we will get some good comparisons at EC in the new year... i'm aiming for a 1.38... Im sure the Japs have done the testing with 20 inch slicks and if they are using them there must be advantages.... anyway we'll find out soon.
  15. Im going to order a set and try them out early next year. Ive got a direct contact to Top Racing but the are f**king expensive - maybe Yoko Australia can get them soon? As far as i can see these are the slicks that the Nismo GTR RC car and the Club Spec edition are using in Japan. Bet you they have been specifically developed for the GTR because i dont think there is any other cars out there running 20 inch slicks They will be pretty good i recon...
  16. guys dont forget that before this car was wrecked by Toll it was probably the hardest driven GTR in the country. I spent many hours driving this thing, chasing it in around racetracks and throughout NSW, sitting in the passenger seat and i wouldnt be buying it for parts... Engine has been in and out twice and i wouldnt be surprised if the gearbox has a few problems... It would cost at least 50k to fix this car and make it track worthy with a cage and other mods, plus where are you gonna drive it if its not registered EC & Wakefield, thats gonna be boring after a few months! You would need to trailer it to every track and thats gonna be a massive pain in the ass. This isnt a 1350kg porsche which can be trailered more easily, these things are massive and heavy... good luck to whoever buys it... RIP 09GTR.
  17. you are looking at just under 3k for the Drive and the Sprint is I think about 5k. So its not cheap but the event is run so well. I guess if you lower the price too much then you would have lots more people wanting to come to the event and then you run the risk of lots of cars in the walls etc. Over the 5 days there were only 3 incidents i think and the track was cleaned up quickly so we didnt lose much time etc. For me 3k at bathurst for 2 days is expensive but its worth 10 track days at Eastern Creek if you know what i mean.
  18. Dunc yeah the 19's and they were best at 35psi and took about 1 lap to come up to temp. The turn in was awesome and the car has Zero understeer. If you push it to hard the front will kinda tramp which was telling me i was at the limit of the front grip.
  19. Drive & Sprint Bathurst 2010 This year I took up the challenge of running the GTR in the Drive and the Sprint Bathurst event. After 5 days on the mountain and my car doing probably close to 150 laps I have to say to you guys out there that if you can afford to do either part of the event then it will be one of the best driving experiences of your life. This year I allowed my brother to drive my car in the Drive event. Originally he wasn't really interested as the pressure of driving a 400kw at the wheels GTR on slicks around the track was pretty scary. I had no problems with it because he's an awesome driver and knew that he could handle it with no probs. After doing the event he can't stop talking about it and has now gone out and bought a jap import EVO 8 MR in preparation for next years event. I promise you guys that once you have spent time at this track you will not stop talking about it until it rolls around again. So thought I'd share a few pic's and details of the event. We started off with the Drive on Wed & Thursday. Both of us sharing driving in the same car. My bro in the slow group and I in the fast group. As per previous years we start out with what is called ducks & drakes. This is where an instructor sets the pace out front and the cars follow with the lead car falling to the rear after one lap. This ensures that everyone gets a chance to be behind the instructor and can follow the racing line etc. This is an awesome intro for everyone because it allows you to familiarise yourself with the track. Ducks & Drakes continues for 3 sessions until everyone is up to speed. From here the event really turns into the usual track day format. Our car ran really strong immediately and we both started lapping at reasonable speeds. For the drive I kept with Semi Slicks so we could build up to more speed. We ran Toyo R888's and I know everyone out there hates these tyres but I've had good results on them (ran a 1.43 at Eastern Creek Sprint a few months ago) and if you adjust your driving to the tyres they are much better than the stocker tyres. My brother initially was lapping at around 3 mins but by end of day 2 was down to about 2.40. This is a really good result for him gaining 20 seconds in about 1.5 days of free practice. I was immediately up to speed having done the event twice before and was lapping around 2.28 – 2.30 consistently. At the end of day 2 the Boys from Croydon Racing Developments came up and gave the GTR a service. We changed the Brake Pads and fluid, engine oil and I put a brand new set of Michelin Slicks on. Day 3-5. Day 3 starts out similar to day 1 because most of the drivers from the first 2 days go home and a new bunch of cars turn up. The cars in the sprint are much faster and more race cars enter the Sprint. OK so slicks make a huge difference and after adjusting to them my times started dropping. The GTR was out of control and I was clocking 260-270 up the mountain before turn 2 literally pulling in every car that was in front of me including the Ferrari Race Cars and the Porsche Cup cars. But down Conrod the GTR was flying clocking 300kmph down lap after lap. At one point I saw 304 on the speedo before jumping onto the brakes and pulling 5th into the chase at 250kmph. I can't believe how good this car is at Bathurst. Seriously guys there is no other track in Aust where you are going to really drive your GTR at full stick. Across the top I had to nurse her a bit. She would get a bit twitchy going up into Reid Park and down to Sulman Park near the grate alongside the wall. The car comes up through Reid Park and then blind comes into Sulman Park and it's scary. You have to wait until she settles before turning in hard left and heading across to skyline where I'm feeding power back on touching 180-200 before braking again for the dipper etc. So I qualified 4th overall with a 2.23.7 and then on Sunday set out to see if I could do better. I honestly didn't think that I could go any faster than the 2.23 because the qualifying lap felt so good. Sunday morning the weather was good, the brake pedal still felt strong and the slicks were OK. First session the tyres over inflated and I was running around 2.24 for each of the 3 flying laps. Session 2 we got faster and on flying lap 2 I did a 2.21.7 and thought that's it for me. Session 3. Ok so there was 1 lap in this session that was unbelievable. I caught one of the Porsche Cup cars at the end of flying lap 1 because he made a mistake and was slowing before taking off on another 2 laps. Basically I said F**k it. I'm keeping with him across the top and let's see how hard I can push this GTR. Into turn 2 up the mountain I was 1 car length behind him and I just tried to stick to his bumper. I kept on him all the way up to the Cutting but after the cutting he started to skip away through Reid & Sulman Park pulling out a car length here and there. Didn't matter cause I was flogging the tits out of the GTR and down conrod the front splitter was skipping on the ground at 300!! I came into the chase at 260 and stood on the brake pedal as hard as I could and the car just pulled up in time to go left through turn 21 (end of the chase) before keeping her flat in 3rd, 4th and into 5th before hitting pit straight… End result was a 2.21.4 and that's all she had in her, plus my heart was beating at 200 beats per minute and I was mentally done………….. The porsche in front did a 2.17 that lap as well and it also ended up being his fastest lap. So to wrap up. The 5 days were seriously unbelievable. My car has run about 150 full on laps over the 6.3km track and did not have one problem. Some of the suspension and sway bar bushes are worn but other than that the car ran perfectly. AP Jhooks and Carbotek 16 pads were fade free and I absolutely hammered them every lap. All we needed to do was bleed them a few times to keep the pedal strong. Croydon Racing Developments – MASSIVE THANKS!!!! The boys from Croydon Racing Developments prepared the car and attended for 2 of the 5 days. We changed engine oil, plugs and pads once over the 5 days and I ran on Michelin race slicks for 3 of the 5 days. I won the road registered class with a 2.21.4 lap time and I think this would be the fastest lap by an R35 GTR at the Mountain, 5th overall. THEN DROVE HER BACK HOME!!! The only cars to beat me were 3 Ferrari 430 Challenge GT3 race cars and one 997 Porsche Carrera Cup – plus these blokes all had new slicks for the final day – mine were 3 days old and I was only 5 sec's off the winning Ferrari. With new slicks I maybe could have broken a 2.20. The car was clocking nearly 300kmph down the straight each lap and I did see 304 at one point. Willall - Martin thanks for your help with the oils, the tranny temps never exceeded 120 degrees c. And the larger engine oil sump kept the temps lower also, don't think engine got above 125. The splitter was awesome it really kept the front down however it really started to bow after the first day or so. I think the massive speeds up and down the mountain were a bit much for the plastic and I wouldn't mind investigating having one made of carbon fiber etc. Forged Performance USA – Sharif, Ryan thanks for all the support from a product point of view. The HKS stuff made a big difference to keeping everything running smoothly and we made consistent boost thanks to the Intercoolers etc, average power was about 380kw at the wheels. (these guys are seriously awesome and if anyone needs an intro to the USA for parts then you need to speak with me or contact Sharif & Ryan directly) Trevor Schumack and Shane from Michelin for their help in getting the tyres to last 3 days on the mountain. Unfortunately we can't run the event again on slicks without a rollcage! So im going to have to seriously think about what we do with this car??? Its just too fast to not have a rollcage. Only downside to the last 5 days is that this is arguably the best event in Australia each year and given the last 5 days I don't know how any other circuit in Australia is going to cut it for me… However I'm going to take this car to as many tracks as possible in Australia in 2011 and have as much fun as possible. I'll hopefully post some video shortly. P.S Congrats to HKS850 (previously 09GTR) for hammering out a 2.26 in a car that was only 1 week old and with 500kms on the odometer… Next year its going to be GAME on between the two of us… I see sub 2.20's coming on. Here's a list of the mods to my car so far and photos below. you can forget about re-sale after you chop the car up for a roll cage... recon it will halve in value. sell your aussie spec car and buy a jap import then put a cage in it...
  21. Its worth every cent. Speak to anyone who has done the event. Over 2 days i dont event think you will completely chew through one set of pads - you cant use stock rotors they are not up to it. The Easter Festival of Speed was not the same type of event...
  22. Mark, for your first time the 2 day event would be enough... As mentioned previously you would get approx 70-80 laps if you car can run without overheating. Last year we didnt have Tranny Coolers and our brakes werent up to scratch so we only really managed 5-6 flatout laps before needing to run one or two cool down laps - plus it was 30 degrees on track!!!. This year we all have tranny coolers, larger radiators better brakes etc so we should be running each 20-25 min session from start to finish.
  23. Its the best run event ive been too. Its run by Trackcorp. Last year there was not one accident in the 2 days that we were on track... You run at your own pace according to your driving ability. It was 09GTR's first event last year perhaps he can explain his experience as he was somewhat nervous about tackling the mountain... Costs for the 2 Day drive are about $3,400 inc GST - its not cheap but then again its not your regular track day event. www.drivebathurst.com
  24. Duncan i dont think Bathurst will ruin your EC and Wakefield track days / super sprints, it certainly hasnt ruined mine. Its just an awesome track and the GTR is a just amazing around Bathurst. Its like saying i wont go to Nurburgring because its too good? IMHO you have to go to Bathurst if you can, its an amazing experience and yep unfortunatley we can only run once or twice per year there but its worth waiting for each year. Even if you dont drive it this year come up for a day and see what its all about. But you have all the gear - JRZ, Aeromotions Wing, Willall tune etc etc and one of the fastest R35's in australia....... you wont be disappointed!
