  1. yeah its certainly a lot more exciting to drive. the car only has 2600kmson it and as the kms go up i think its getting faster. only negative is that it comes on boost so hard at 3-5500rpms and then boost falls away slightly. im going to work with Croydons trying some new Cobb tuning to see if we cant get more consistent boost to the redline. The car is a complete handful in damp conditions and just spins the wheels in 1st & 2nd gear. Maybe have to do Boost Controller and Actuators etc.
  2. thanks will do!
  3. oh yeah i forgot but like you showed me with your BROS cd? which one of these guys did you want to be again??
  4. Thanks Martin
  5. Martin do all COBB Pro Tuners have this new mapping for WDGC control. Jim did mine and we got similar power but it doesnt quite hold boost to the limiter but tapers off slightly.
  6. Duncan PM me from here if you want to talk more about Bathurst or Sway Bars etc. Miles.
  7. yep just bolt on and off. i would think pretty easy. I would get them from Forged Performance and i'll find out what the install is like. http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=STIGTRSBK1&c=SU Yep Drive Bathurst - its basically a 2 day track day. I'm not sure if you have driven bathurst before but i'll explain how the event works. First morning is a bit of follow the instructor (profesional drivers - Luffy, Jim Richards etc) around being shown the lines etc. This sounds lame but its actually quite good and you get some time on the track to learn it. The instructors dont muck around either they go pretty hard meaning your not ever held up by them. They limit the straights tho to about 150-180kmph. Afternoon should see some free time but they may limit the straights to 180 -200kmph. Second day pretty much free driving all day non speed limited - each session each day you get about 10 laps and you get 5-6 sessions depending on track conditions and accidents etc. Its not cheap but well worth it $4000 now cause all the earybird specials are done (if you want to come though i might be able to get you in a bit cheaper $3500?) inc food, drinks, one dinner. you can take a pit crew and everone gets a garage etc etc. http://www.drivebathurst.com/
  8. jpcgtr i was actually thing about the Mines springs because they seem to be the least aggressive from a ride height perspective but looking at your pic's it seems that they really drop the car more than the quoted 1-2cms? How do they perform? Are you satisfied with them? And where did you get your spacers? Coilovers are just that little bit more expensive but customising your ride height has its benefits i guess...
  9. 09GTR before I do a driving course can you help me work the CD player in my car? I cant figure out where the disks go?
  10. From what ive read the Stillen sway bars look pretty good. They have adjustable end links which are stiffer than stock adding to more direct turn in. The car is awesome stock but im sure some bigger bars would dial out that body roll and add stability in the higer speed corners etc. Im going to get a set and see how they go they are only $1200 AUD shipped. Have you thought about coming to bathurst with 09GTR and me in November. Its a 2 day track event.
  11. 09 GTR im in for next year but you'll have to teach me what the paddles behind the steering wheel are for first?
  12. Duncan have you changes your Springs and or Sway Bars yet?
  13. Has anyone out there changed their Sway Bars & or Springs? Im considering Cobb Sway Bars and Mines Springs to stiffen it up a bit and dial out the body roll / front push? Anyone got any thoughts on this??
  14. What we all really want to know is, did you have the baby seat in the car???
  15. Agreed LC is slower to 100 and our times were over 3.6 using LC. when we (09 GTR) and i use launch control the car tends to bog down of the line momentarily. this is because the car falls off boost for a split second before then taking off. The trick to a good 100 time is as everyone knows a great launch. So try gearbox R mode auto, VDC R mode or Off (prob better off), left foot brake holding reasonably firm but not too hard that the pedal is on the floor - smash the accelerator and as boost builds side step the brake pedal - what you are trying to do is release the brake at the same time revs are building and the engine is coming on boost, this gets the car off the line better doesnt bog down as much and should give you a better time. Dont hold the brake so hard that the pedal has to come right off the floor - that will bog down as well - you just almost want the car in a stall position and then catch the engine coming on boost thats the key. Anyhow this has worked for us so maybe give it a go, its a bit tricky but try a few times and see if you can nail it. Have to ask 09GTR what timing device we are using? Greddy? not sure.
  16. Jim did more tuning on they dyno today. power is up to 344 before we get new plugs. Its also holding better boost all the way to 7000. very impressed.
  17. yeah yeah yeah Mr 10.8 im coming for you!!! Jim make it happen would you!
  18. im sure if the car has it you can use it and its covered under warranty. but honestly launch control is a load of crap. i got 3.3 to 100 without using it, sure thats after a few mods. before mods we were getting 3.6 easy, again without using launch control. i dont know what you need it for?
  19. Jim at Croydon's has done it again!!! Ive been watching everyone tune their cars locally and in the USA for about 6 mths now. I didnt rush these mods and originally I was going with a base Cobb map 1 tune to match my midpipe etc but after watching 09GTR work with Croydons the custom tune is the only way to go. Aside from the car obviously being more powerful its the perfect torque curve that makes the car more exciting to drive. VDC must be to R mode under full power otherwise TC cuts the throttle. So the mods are: CBRD Midpipe (the best midpipe ive ever heard - zero drone and under throttle sounds unreal) Mines filters and Custom Cobb tune from Jim Standard the car put out 295kw. But now the car is putting out an easy 340kw (i think 15 pound boost) at the wheels, there is more power to come from these mods above but we backed it off until we can get some better HKS plugs. Tonight the car ran 3.3 sec to 100kmph with over half tank of fuel. Didnt get it off the line perfectly but 3.3 is good enough for now and this should translate into low 11's. And the car has only 1600kms on the clock. Next up - Actuators, HKS Boost controller, high flowed catted turbo pipes, GFB Blow off valves and Endless MX72 Pads all from Croydon's. Highly recommend you speak to Jim at Croydon's if your thinking about some simple mods.
