  1. Ive been across three times, drove it twice, since it is coming into summer it will be hot as, not to mention boring as hell. As someone said earlier i wouldn't drive the skyline across, i nearly had a mishap hitting a kangaroo doing about 150km/h. (i was driving an old corolla though) I wouldn't think there would be much 98octance fuel out there either, and if there is then imagine the cost! I remember about 3years ago the cost of normal unleaded was like $1.20 a litre. :hellpisd: I would go for trucking it!!
  2. Since I sold the skyline I might bring the old CA18DET 180sx down and see if the engine explodes!
  3. Ahh might be the "MOD STOP" that I pass on Orrong road then, knew it said something like that.
  4. there is a shop i pass on the way to study every morning just off orrong rd. Might be called the MOD SHOP but not sure.
  5. I have seen a few CA18DET's sell for quite cheap on silviawa.com lately, I dont think many get higher than $800 these days.
  6. So far car is drifting very nicely!!! Down low up to around 5000rpm has quite a bit of power for a four cylinder 1.8. Had it dynoed the other day before i add a new turbo, made 160rwhp, aiming for around the 250rwhp mark.
  7. Just a smooth allrounder GTR
  8. Or TWO!!! GT51R {insert drool here}
  9. My old R33 was a beast compared to the 180. Have to say that the CA18DET isn't driving to bad at the moment though.
  10. Cheers for that Ill give them a ring on Tuesday
  11. Hey all, Im having a problem with oil leaking out of the front crank pulley. I replaced the seal, but the oil keeps leaking out. I've been told that I need a "Speedy Sleave" to stop the oil from leaking out. Really need to know where in Perth i can purchase one of these Speedy Sleave thingos if anyone can help. Yeah also it is for an CA18DET engine not any RB's.
  12. :elaugh: This is the best thread i have read in ages!!! Hands up how many people are going to go out and spray their cars with mortein??? I know I am!!!
  13. Hey Alan, Hope your enjoying the Skyline :burnout: Personally I like the standard steering wheel that comes with the R33, not as bad as some local cars (cough Commodore cough). Getting it re trimmed might be a safe option. Never knew it was illegal to remove airbag steering wheels though?
  14. I did mine at home and took around three hours, ended up putting the timing belt on just one tooth out on the exhaust side and the car was running like shit, so just be carful to match up the correct marks. I also heard that the crank pulleys have to be tightend correctly or it will fall out? True or False anyone know?
  15. Looking at a few cheap 180sx for drifting, Looked at a certain CA18DET 180sx the other day, minimal mods exhaust, pod filter, boost controller, etc. Just wondering if there are any major problems with these engines or componants in the car that I should look out for.
  16. Yep, car is SOLD!!! But im buying another as soon as i finish studying. Next time GTR  Anyway have fun in it, no THRASHING!! :jk:
  17. Good question  Guess i just rushed it abit, i was sure i had it all lined up but i was wrong. But doesn't matter now, i can enjoy driving the car again.
  18. Yeah car is in wicked condition but i wouldn't say its the "BEST" R32 GTR i've ever seen.
  19. Got the car back this afternoon, and the timing belt was out by just one tooth on the exhaust cam side. DAMN it made such a big difference to way the car would drive. All fixed now though.
  20. I fully agree with that. Sorry to hijack the thread but if your serious about buying have your money and everything sorted before you start looking. So many ppl have come look at my car then say "its nice but im still waiting on finance, might be two weeks or something" or some shit like that.
  21. There hard to find because most go for around the same price as a R33, so why buy an older car when for maybe the same or a couple of grand more you can buy a newer model. I guess you would have to really like the shape of the R32.
  22. Car is in the shop today getting checked out, i'll let you know how it goes.
  23. Only ever been pulled over once for RBT, on one of the cruises. On Albany Hwy near Cannington.
  24. Yeah i marked the cas and put it back on the same mark, im taking it into a workshop 2morrow to get the timing checked.
  25. Firstly yes everything that was disconnected has been reconnected correctly. All the timing markers on the pulleys all match up with the correct markings on the belts. I sorted out the stalling issue by adjusting the idle up slighty, but the car still feels very underpowered, any ideas????
