  1. well can't argue with u there strutto ... anyways to answer ur question simply ... yes it does matter .. both power and size ... and yes brand does matter ... imho i'd go for a well known brand ... i mean i'd ask people who knows what look at then i'd compare them myself ... since reputation counts ... dont' go buying 600watt amp just cause it says 600 ... the quality stuff are usually rated lower and will go much higher ... but kicker is a decent brand ... u shouldnt go too wrong there ... personally i've got all jl and alpine in my car ... looks and sounds great

  4. yes i do want power ... that is why i'mm getting safc and the bleeder ... but i'm still perplexed as whats happening with my mileage ... i check my mileage every single tank i get and without fail thats what i'm getting ... i don't know how or why but its the result ... i do lots of driving so mileage is important for me .. i'd sacrifice a bit of power for a little more economy ... apart from economy theres nothing wrong with the car ... idles very smooth ... temps are normal ... oil pressures normal ... everything workin beautiful ... never had anything wrong mechanically ... service every 7000ks or thereabouts ... the only thing i can think of is the stock boost i'm on ... before when i had a cat back it would never boost past 350mmhg ... (i dont' have an aftermarket boost gauge on it right now) ... it was like just under ... but now it will go just a tad past 350mmhg with the dump pipe ... i've been told that thats a little low for the mods i have ... i too thought it should boost up to 9 or 10 psi with the dump pipe ... but it was an increase none the less ... maybe a hard spring?? i dunno ... but we'll see with the bleeder in there ... anyways if anyone can suggests anything that would be great!!

  8. well very true about the stock cooler ... plus right now i'm running shitty petrol LOL ... not because its cheaper .. well its a good thing .. but because my economy is better with it ... this is what i wrote in another post somewhere here ... i've been using shitty petrol for a couple of weeks now ... i find the theres less power .... not that much ... but i've found it a little strange in that the car still runs smoothly and my feul economy is slightly better in that using 98 ron i was getting just over 400 ... but using 91 ron i'm getting 450+ ... i've got a pod and full exhaust on an auto ... so i'm not too sure whats going on LOL ... before i had a dump pipe my economy was 91 ron - 350-450k's 95 ron - 450-500k's ... usually very close to 500 so thats what i used. 98 ron - 350-400k's strange huh?? anyways i can't run 95 ron with the full exhaust cause the bp that used to have only has ultimate. my question is ... will a SAFC correct whats going on and let me get the same or better mileage ie 500+ k's of a tank using 98 ron?? i bet theres some of u guys saying i'm stupid .. but thats whats happening with the car for some reason ... my car is only on stock boost 7psi max ... even with full exhaust ... and generally i only get to 7 psi every now and then and only at nights ... but since i'm going to be putting up the boost i think i'll be using 98 ron ... but i would really be happy if i could get 500k's off a tank and have good power .. hopefully the safc can do that ... and yeah it would be nice to get a knock sensor ... maybe i should look into other types of knock sensors LOL
  9. well i don't know what power i have .. i think around 140rwkw with full exhaust at pod ... or there abouts ... it feels really slow with the stock boost controller as you really have to step on it to get it to stay in first and rev out ... so hopefully i dont' have to step on it that much if i put the bleeder on ... this week hopefully if i have the time i can put in my boost gauge, bleeder and safc ... i'm not sure what i'm going to do whether i'm going to try and tune it a little myself or just wait to go to a tuner ... but i can already picture myself giving it a go as i'm so damn tight at the moment LOL
  10. i haven't as yet read the manual yet ... so i assume that the only wire i have to cut is the ones from the afm ... and the others i just tap ... tapping seems hard as i'm a little scared i may just cut the wire LOL .. i better practice a few ones first hehe ... thats a very nice custom job there .. i dont' think i'm that motivated LOL ... strutto .. being an auto ... how much power u got and with what mods?? how much extra gain do u expect?? and did all u guys go to a proper tuner or did u do a dodgy self tune??

  12. just about to get an safc but some questions just to clear up a few things ... when installing a safc, did u guys cut wires from the ecu?? if so where did u cut it?? what did u use to connect the new wires?? should i really do it properly and get crimping tools which i do have access too ... cutting wires near the ecu will get a bit messy .. i mean the loom is tightly strapped together ... what a bitch if i messed anything up?? :Oops: and another thing, is the wiring diagram of the ecu the same for an auto as a manual?? ie just go by the manual?? also, how did u guys get the display to be stuck onto the dash on the bottom din position or the tray beneath that?? thanks all
  13. you'll be lookin even more ... imho if you're not really that serious about accuracy? then i think the avcr is the winner simply as it looks better .. however i too must agree that functionality wise the hks is better and more accurate .. try nengun for prices ...
