  2. just having a quick browse through the roadworthy requirements, the only thing about pedals it says is under Driving Controls in Section K "All driving control pedals must have an effective non-slip surface or be covered in non slip material...steering wheel rims, knobs and other devices, which have deteriorated to an extent that they are hazardous, are unacceptable" Have your pedals worn smooth or are aftermarket aluminium ones or something?
  3. love GTR-style sedans!
  4. look at this link for any info regarding legal mods in Victoria http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/CC48FC10-4D57-4F04-82E1-3BD72EF88340/0/VSI8.pdf it says: "the width of any replacement rim must not be: - more than 25mm more than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series; or - less than the width of the narrowest rim specified by yada yada yada yada... not sure if "model or vehicle series" limits those conditions to the ER34 (the GT, GTT, GTV) or that extends to the GTR if you wanted to legally stretch an extra few mm's.
  5. look in the R34 picture thread. it looks like 1 in 10 cars is a 34R over there
  6. yep, it's the very first thread of this section. "Nissan Paint Codes" http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/138419-nissan-paint-codes/
  7. put the vin in this thread (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/128496-vins-you-want-fasted/page__st__3520) and someone will run it through Nissan's FAST program.
  8. i'm keen to what they do with Marty's 180 this season. I still dont understand it though, Marty was driving an old legacy wagon(?) and he bought Moog a really nice late model Forester, better than his own car. Then Moog buys him a 1500 broken 180.
  9. -guy buys mcm project car -nek minnit -sells mcm project car -??? -profit? what an enterprising young fellow
  10. theres plenty of footage from a lot of the senior members around if you look for it. But i dont think they need to prove themselves to some shmuck who signed up last week that derails a whole thread in order to perpetuate his participation in what he thinks is the superior automotive lifestyle. (the original questions was whether NA's are slow, the topic of drifting is irelephant) and yes i know Casey from Shirtstuckedin, because you follow an underground car blog, that makes you more the expert than everyone else here?
  11. this Fryters character is as delusional about drifting as La Bomba is about his "JDM POWAAAA nostalgia mint export-grade-6 Silvia". I'm actually quite ashamed to be an NA driver right now.
  12. been listening to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' 'The Heist' album all week. You've probably heard Thrift Shop, Favourite song on the album is 'Starting Over' (even if it is a little blue) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HZ4xd-2RSg
  13. dont you need to be living/working in the states to get a licence. but yeah, one of my mates moved here from NZ. Skipped P's as well. I was jelly.
  14. made me think of a a write-up in one of the early Autosalon magazines. Might not be completely relevant to speeding but... Here we go, issue 29 (i think, the cover's been ripped off) titled "How To: Avoid a Ticket" Your night's fun has suddenly been interrupted by the woop of a siren and the flashings of blue and red lights. Sure you're pulled over on the side of the road but you still have some aces up your sleeve. Here's how to play them. Pull Over: Take the right amount of time when pulling over. Don't cut across 3 lanes of traffic to stop, but don't continue on for 10 kilometres either. Once stopped alongside the road, put your hazard lights on, switch the engine off and leave your hands on the wheel in plain view. Officers are always cautious when approaching a car so don't so anything that might startle them. Get Out: If possible, get out of the car. This means that you will be talking to the officer at eye level, rather than him talking authoritatively down to you. If you've been stopped in a dodgy suburb then it's probably best to avoid this step. Don't Whip Out Your Wallet: Some people like to pull out their driver's licence the moment they are stopped at an RBT or pulled over. Not a wise move. Doing so can raise the Officer's suspicions that you are guilty of something. Wait until he or she asks for it. It's Factory Sir: Don't blatantly lie to an Officer. If they notice your blow off valve or exposed pod filter, dont try to palm it off as OEM. Doing so is insulting and demeaning. Speak Up: If you feel that you are being defected [or accused of speeding in this case] that you believe to be legal, ask the officer what the problem is with that particular modification is. After that, tell him the reasons you believe it is legal. Excuses, Excuses: If you were caught speeding and the Officer asks you how fast you were going, do not tell them you don't know. This shows that you don't pay attention when driving. Excuses like running late for work don't cut it, because you are likely to speed again as soon as they let you go. Instead give uncontrollable diarrhoea a shot. The Officer might be sympathetic and let you off. Voice Levels: No matter how angry or pissed off you might be, hide those emotions. Talk to the Officer courteously and a 'Sir' or 'Ma'am' at the end of a sentence shows respect. If you are asked a question, keep your response simple. Long winded answers that drag on for 15 minutes will frustrate the Officer. A simple 'yes sir' or 'no sir' will suffice. However, don't commit to anything black and white like you admitting you were 50kph over the limit. Doing so will end your chances of fighting the ticket in court. If your phone rings, keep the call succinct and tell the caller you will call them back. This shows the Officer that you take being pulled over seriously. Engineered?: If you have an engineer's certificate, don't wave it around the Officer's face as if he or she is a fool. Produce it when they start inspecting your car or ask you to pop the bonnet. Remember, the Officer is leading this dance, not you.
  15. my first camera was a Canon 550D. I got the two lens pack for 1800 (from memory). A little stretch of your budget but im very happy with the years ive had.
  16. im curious as to how you acquired these plates in the first place, seeing as you claim not to have bought them under the pretense of spinning a profit, you dont own a GTR (so it's not for personal use) and you're unaware of the price of plates from VicRoads. They can't all be the case.
  17. doesn't sound like he works there at all. that man speaketh the truth. the fibreglass copies have huge amounts of play in them. if anything you should expect them not to fit and require modification. atleast yours was 15mm over and not under. easier to just trim off the ends than to cut the middle and re-bond
  18. yep, got the Zonda 'roadster', and the roof was still on. Rally DLC is hugely entertaining. R8 Spyder rally car, why not.
  19. the car he's looking at is a factory series 1front bar with the nismo rear bar and trolley wing. this is a series 2 bar no?
  20. maybe he never went to sleep. been on the piss all night
  21. that's a thread dig and a half.
  22. those are factory items as part of the nismo aero kit. as seen on here (apart from the gtr spoiler) interestingly, the car OP mentioned is missing thte side skirts as well as the front bumper of the kit (as seen below). so yes a bit fishy, did it originally have nismo aero with front bar and skirts removed? or was the rear bar and spoiler added?
