  1. Finally had a chance to head down to Regency and change over my rego on the V35 today. Hooked up some nice plates for it too (well I like them) .... have to wait 2 weeks for them to be made though. Also fitted some goodies incl. Nismo rad cap, Nismo oil filler cap, and Carbon Fibre bonnet struts - they are bloody awesome!
  2. Freaking awesome car you have there Seb .... I very much hope I get to go for a blast in it one day .... swap you for a ride in my V35
  3. That would have been Seb in the car done by Willall titled "R35 development project"
  4. I posted off my form and money order today Ben. And the shelter arrived too!
  5. Took some pics of the new toy yesterday .... pity it was raining and filthed it up before the photos (despite it being washed 2 hours earlier ) Fave photo
  6. Nah mate wasn't me .... did you think you spotted my R34 or V35? I was out in the 35 today
  7. That would have been Munro, Leo, given he lives in the back streets of Walkerville and owns a grey R35GTR .... but I have to disagree on the exhaust note - I think it sounds porn. Mind you in the back streets of Walkerville he would have been travelling at 40km/h or under, so you wouldn't have heard much at all. What are you doing back in Adelaide?
  8. Yeah where are your and Martin's Japan pics/blogs? I have to shark an invite on one of your trips one of these years *shakes fist in jealousy*
  9. So you have been paying $250 a year to maintain those plates? Otherwise I am pretty sure they lapse and someone can simply buy them. You may physically have the plates, but are you sure you still own the right to display them?
  10. Well excuse me for being misinformed about your lack of Ferraris .... and the build plate of your W427 (I was close though ) .... and oh yeah, sorry change 'went for a blast in' to 'fapped over at Willall's' - you got me there Bit of wishful thinking on my part .... nice cars anyhow
  11. Got smoke?
  12. and don't worry about getting the cash to me .... at the event or whenever we bump into each other is fine mate .... it was only around $148 delivered, so sits on the Visa with little consequence
  13. yep I bought it at that special price this morning
  14. I'd say go for it Bildo - just set it at a nice conservative 10psi and it will flatten out your boost curve and make power a tiny bit more linear. Then later on when you do more mods you will benefit from nice consistent boost and have the ability to wind it up when you get a better turbo.
  15. Yeah and his daddy owns a whole fleet of awesome cars including a couple of Ferraris and one of the few W427 commos ever made (build plate number 3) - went for a short blast in it a few weeks back and it was quite impressive - but at more $$$ than an R35GTR is insane!
  16. I think what Luke is referring to as the 'hard drive' is the actual case/box, as many noob PC people do. Take it to someone who knows what a 'hard drive' actually is Luke - mehinks you are not about to figure this one out yourself
  17. yep I think I found some orange ones last time that did the trick. Super jealous of you going to Thailand .... we love the place!
  18. Get a pair of those earplug things they well at the airport Carl - make a world of difference - especially on takeoff and landing when your ears can hurt the most
  19. yeah was good to catch up yesterday James .... I might have to go back to JIS and try them on .... then seriously work on the guys on price - they are a bit out of my budget. Plus I really don't mind the stock wheels, so might do some other mods first like exhaust etc ....
  20. Me too! :D :D
  21. er yeah dodes now I do some homework you are correct - the VQ35 does have a timing chain. But my logic is quite sound - you don't treat a 25,000km car the same as a 100,000km car in servicing and maintenance. And I agree with some of what rex pasted, but the simple fact is (as I said earlier) I am on various Japanese auction lists and RARELY see an 03 V35 with only 25,000km on the clock - VERY RARELY. However, these guys have a yard FULL of them, and sell them at rock bottom prices - how can this be? they fetch a SERIOUS premium on the rarity they come up at the auctions. And the guy I was going to buy my V35 conceded straight away over the phone that the car did not have the 25,000km advertised .... he actually agreed with me. 25,000km Nissans DON'T get lipped front disks - My R34 only developed lips at well over 100,0000km, and all of the V35s I have looked at with up to 70,000km have no rotor wear whatsoever.
  22. Why on earth would someone's first post on SAU be digging up this old thread to find out how to put an alarm in his non-Skyline? Especially when everyone has answered the OP's question in the thread already?
  23. Yeah the big problem is with things like your 80,000km service, which includes timing belt, water pump etc which if not gone can completely blow up your engine. So if your car has really done 100,000km, but you think has only done 25,000km, by the time you hit the "80,000km" mark you have really done 155,000km and your engine will have gone KABOOM due to a busted timing belt by then. Also things like I am experiencing at the moment with my R34 at 160,000km like every second week having a heater hose leak, also the heater core has leaked and been replaced (requires whole dash removal) ..... so instead of those things being many, many years away, if you have bought a lemon with already 100,000km on it, then you don't have long before things start going wrong big time ....
  24. I am shopping around for insurance for my new car .... has anyone used AAMI .... or does anyone have any contacts for insurance?
  25. As I said to Ben on the phone I am most happy to supply my basic shade like we used at Kadina, but then thought about this: http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/white-part...-walls-windows/ If we all chipped in and bought this, then SAU would OWN it. So a once-off donation from the people going of about $15 and it can be used for future events for free. Looks pretty awesome, is much bigger than mine (and presumably properly waterproof), and has side and rear protection. I reckon this is the way to go! With the number of people about the place on the day we can put up this thing in around 10 minutes flat. Would be tons of space too - 6m x 3m is HUGE.
