  1. yeah if you can send the the link that would be good - I have been quoted $300-$500 just for SHIPPING of axle-back exhausts from the USA
  2. surely you still have the box it was posted in and just have to go down the post office and send it .... easier than waiting for some random guy to rock up to your house and find out where a nice 350Z lives ....
  3. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo just put a deposit on my new car Final mechanical check Friday, then truck delivery in the next week or 2 .... can't wait.
  4. The one I had checked was Black with aftermarket front grille and chrome SSR professor copy wheels (despite them saying they were genuine Work wheels). I had also decided I would get the Candy Blue one with CE28Ns and front lip checked, but they sold it on me. Then a stocker Red one with sunroof, but they sold that as well! But that was before I did all the extra homework and found out just how much of a bullet I dodged. Word is they have plenty of vehicle check guys in their pocket, so beware.
  5. Dude, I said I will take it first. Let me know the postage cost to Northgate, SA, 5085 and I will transfer you the $$$
  6. how much for postage to Northgate, SA, 5085?
  7. These guys are dodgy, dodgy, super dodgy. Beware. Top Motor Import I was told their name is, but HCN P/L is the account name I sent my deposit to. They list cars on Carpoint, Ebay, Carsales etc as 'private' sales, yet are backyard importers/dealers. I had a deposit on a V35 there last week, and sure enough when I had my mechanic check it out, instead of 27,000km as the odo said, he said it had 80,000-100,000 on it easy. There are hundreds of ways to spot the age of a car. These guys have been pulling shonkys for years. If you are on ozvr4.com (or can be bothered registering on there) do a search for the the word "BEWARE" and you will see the names of the guys who run the place and around 22 pages of complaints and dodgy dealings. I was offered a 'full leather' interior for $2k on top of the purchase price and my mechanic said they clearly weren't oem Nissan leather seats as offered, but rather standard seats that had been locally re-covered with pleather of some variety. When I quizzed the car salesman he came clean on it - as he did when I confronted him about the odo being wound back. Shonky as. But as some people on vr4 said, the prices on the cars are that good, that if you get it checked and is legit, then many people are prepared to take a punt. I for one don't want to support these shonky guys, and would much rather they go out of business and let real businesses who do the right thing prosper, rather than them constantly being undercut. FYI most of the cars listed by them under multiple private and business names are actually already sold - they just use them as bait to get you to call, then put you onto a different car. At least 8 V35s on carsales are cars they have already sold, but are still listed. You can easily spot them by the fact that all of the photos are taken on a street near their warehouses, which abuts a sports park, and all have the identical angle shots taken.
  8. I now there are all sorts of incompatibilities in the ODBII arena .... for example the Blazt USB ODBII device from the USA will look at a V35 ECU and can clear error codes, but cannot display any of the sensor outputs in Nissan Datascan 2 (which is what I want my CarPC to do). Chris Rogers is the expert in this area - PM him.
  9. I'll take it. Where are you located, and what is the shipping price to Northgate, South Australia, 5085? Cheers, Andrew
  10. ffs I couldn't have imagined it being so frustrating trying to buy a "near new" car .... I think I am on a winner this time - we will see what the mechanical check picks up on THIS one tomorrow.
  11. I have 2 x 1W walkies I can bring (and lend someone 1). I too plan on taking half a day off Friday and driving up mid-afternoon - no fun getting up there in the dark. As I am a Northie too (live less than 2km from Dohmar) I was thinking of a meet-up at Bunnings Parafield or something like that at maybe 2pm(ish). And am coming home Sunday sometime - not sure if I will stay in the Riverland for lunch or bolt home after breakfast - will see what time the boss says I have to be home.
  12. yeah working out of a home office is awesome, but yes, the interruptions are immense .... between a 2 year old begging me to take him out on the swing (his Grandma is home looking after him today), to SAU, to emails, to browsing US Ebay for car bits .... I reckon I do 30% works, 70% "other" .... just finished watching "District 9" while typing some reports - cool movie
  13. It is easy as piss to tell how many km a car has done Ben. Take it to any decent workshop and they will be able to tell you. Easy signs: - brake rotor wear (the brake rotors on the one I was looking at were seriously lipped which CAN'T happen in 25,000km with standard pads still on) - bushes wear - belt wear (the one I was looking at had a seriously cracked and dated a/c belt - which again CAN'T happen in 25,000km) - steering wheel wear - gearknob wear - seatbelt wear and there are tons more.
  14. Pete and my room at the Loxton Hotel includes brekky each morning .... not sure if all of them do or if it is our 'romantic getaway' package I will hopefully have my new 'Line by then .... looking at one locally as I am sick of the hassles of dealing with idiot/dodgy car salesman in Sydney (last car I had checked 'supposedly' had 25,000km - car check guy said it had between 80,000-100,000km).
  15. Hey Rubes what is the issue with the one I sold you? Have you had a mechanic check the fitting and settings? I would get some opinions from mechanics before I give up on it - they are very highly rated in mod circles.
  16. Yep I can't agree more - you put an S14 next to an S15 - one looks like anus, the other pure sex.
  17. You two are the logical choice .... nice work!
  18. I paid the deposit on my new car today .... and NO, none of you have seen it .... the 2 I were looking at both got sold on me I hope the mechanical check holds up tomorrow - but it darn well should on a car with only 27,000km on it!
  19. HOLY MACARONI!!!! http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul...hp?StockID=4840
  20. ^^^ no it is flood control to stop the spammers who were consistently spamming SAU for a while there. I believe if you donate to SAU (go to 'purchase paid subscriptions' (or something like that) in your user cp) it is lessened. Even I have a limit of PMs I can send per minute these days - it used to be unlimited for me
  21. yep Breaking Bad and Dexter are 2 of my current faves ..... along with Weeds and True Blood! Can't wait for Californication, Chuck and Dollhouse to start back up soon too.
  22. hmmmm Endless braking problems you say Kim? Might have to get a quote for some disks and calipers for my new toy.
  23. Krishy I would have thought your brake fluid would more likely be the culprit of your spongy pedal. What fluid were you using, and when was the last time you changed and bled it? Of course pads will help, but fluid is the most important imho.
  24. Thanks Lee! Went to catch up with Missus for lunch as I haven't properly seen her for a few days. And to think she is in filthy Mallala unwashed spec with the stock front bumper on (instead of the awesome GTR copy front bar), yet I had you spot it and say it 'looks nice', and some guy saw it parked at Kilburn this arvo and rang me to have a look at buying it. Topsy turvy world!
  25. Yep will do Luke. And yep was just fouled plugs - by the time he got home he had burnt off the bad deposits and she is again purring like a kitten
