Yep, had an awesome time out there. Thanks a bunch for organising it Kim - the day ran like clockwork! Thanks for the comments from other guys - yes it was bad planning to have so much damn work to do the night before, but it was the price I had to pay for taking the day off. Well worth it though and managed a solid 11 hours sleep last night to make up for it Yeah David/writeoff, of course I wasn't going to leave anyone stranded out there .... what sort of mod/father figure do you think I am? Also note the Luke/Heslo stayed there with me until the very end, so he did his Daddy duties well too I will have my new car for the next one, so will see how she goes on the track. Photos here (click) If anyone is concerned about their plates showing let me know and I will black them out. Couldn't be stuffed renaming all the photos, but I am pretty sure I left viewer editing on, so feel free to rename them if you wish. I resized them for internet/upload reality, but if anyone wants high-res ones, let me know - most high res pics are 8Mp so weigh in at around 2.5Mb each.

Yep, having watched the normal AND the Unrated versions of Sex Drive - top movie in both forms! The beauty of the unrated one is the random naked chicks running through the set for no apparent reason every so often .... classic.

He is our token drunk to colour in when he passes out .... he has to come! Maybe he will actually stay sober enough to go through with picking up with a local hottie - unlike Kadina

Well I have just finished typing my work reports (and had a couple of little involuntary snoozes at my desk), so am heading to bed now for a couple of hours. See you chaps at City Dismantlers.

Nope, they can do it anytime. Banks are well aware of people's reluctance to shop online (which banks have a vested interest in) due to the inherent risks of fraud, so are red hot on actioning and refunding people's money if they have or feel they have been ripped off. The onus is then on the seller/receiver of funds to prove their case if they believe they have acted appropriately. Of course the account the money was paid into has to still exist and have funds in it - if they have done a runner then the cash is gone forever. On a similar note, when I was last in Singapore I was out buying all kinds of things on my Visa and had my card skimmed at one stage or another. Within hours, someone from the ANZ rang me to report suspicious activity on my card, so we went through the list of things I had bought that day, and they simply crossed off the transactions that weren't mine and they never even appeared on my statement.
-
Nice setup there Ben. Have you contacted your bank? In the case of online ripoffs, I believe they can try to reverse the transaction and get the money back from the guy's account (if it still exists). I would give it a try if I was you.

Google some reviews on Kwak around the net guys .... widely regarded as one of the best beers on the planet. And you would hope so at a bit over $150 per carton delivered. They cost a bit over $15 each at the Belgian Beer Cafe! Scandy, Wiplash and I have downed quite a few of them at the Belgian in recent times - and you leave with a very sore wallet! How did u pay for the SSD Ben? Normally Visa companies and Paypal favour the consumer and refund your funds immediately. Don't tell me you were silly enough to direct deposit? On a related issue, my 901 came with a 4Gb and a 16Gb SSD. Now WinXP was loaded on the 16Gb, which when I did some hard drive speed testing, was about third of the speed of the 4Gb. Both are genuine Acer items, but the 4Gb one is far superior. So I nuked the 16Gb drive and made the 4Gb master - installed Performance XP and she absolutely flies. Performance was significantly below par before when the OS was loaded on the 16Gb, but the 4Gb one is now pretty good indeed. Not as great as a quality GSKill SSD like Heslo's, but more than sufficient for what I want the lappie to do.
-
^^^ too true Ben! On a lighter note, that nice Post Express chap bought me 24 presents today Kwak - one of the best beers EVER made. And I stand by that comment.

Bed? I only just finished playing with and packing the car - now I have around 3 hours of work reports to do that have to be out by 9am tomorrow morning .... sigh

Sad, sad story. Yes, you are not the only one Dick screwed over. He will get what is coming to him one day. Not only the fact that he screwed you over, but he also then screwed Mark over by doing this job 'privately' rather than through that particular workshop. Double sad too, as like you said Munro sold his Bayside Blue 34 around that time, and that thing was an absolutely immaculate example, and he often pines over selling it when we have a few beers - I reckon it is the only car he has ever regretted selling.

Just watch out for those Ladyboys, Bezender .... just walking down the nightclub streets and peering in the establishments in Phuket was enough to put me off :puke: Truly awesome place though. Make sure you go out to "James Bond Island", and the island where they filmed some of the movie "The Island" on a decent modern boat. Awesome fun. Koh Samui is really nice too.

The blue one would include brand spanking new full leather seats front and rear. Yes, I would do all those mods anyhow, so yes in many ways the blue makes much more sense. I love the CE28Ns, but they don't have enough dish and offset, so yes would sell them for good $$$ and buy another set of the same style or a different style. No, I don't know the blue one has been thrashed, I just wonder if it has been, given the fact it is modded. Chances are it isn't though. BUT the pics of the red ones engine bay and interior it does look much better looked after. Yes I would use the sunroof a lot - I love them - always have the wife's Accord roof open, especially on nice days. Yeah thinking of a coupe now Heslo - I like the sedans, but every colour but black just doesn't do it for me, and I can't find one. And I was most sold on the GT8 CVT gearbox (awesome to drive), which I was warned can develop funny problems and be an absolute PITA to fix .... then the one I hadn't even bought yet did that exact thing, and the seller has given up even trying to fix it and is just going to flog the car off at auction for it to be someone else's problem. So then I have to go to a 2005 model for it not to be CVT, and they jump up $5-10k from what I was looking at, so I might as well just grab a coupe. The coupes are MUCH easier to get mod parts for too than the sedan. And the back seats are a pretty good size - I would just have to break my back getting Tyler in and out of the child seat every now and then. Not too bigger deal. Fishy, believe it or not, since the car market is so incredibly bad in Aus, and so many dealers have had so many V35 sitting around not selling, I would be buying either of these at or below the price I could import one for. I have been speaking with Geoff from Prestige and keeping an eye on auction prices. And I can't be arsed going through the long import process again. Also works out better tax-wise to buy one already here, as I can claim the GST straight back as I will be buying it through m company = effective $3,500 saving. I also get some sort of warranty from buying from a dealer, rather than buying sight unseen.

Hmmmmm decisions, decisions .... Both 25,000km(ish) Blue = full leather, TV, front lip, CE28Ns (but not tuff enough offset), full stainless exhaust with titanium tips, stainless intake pipe, thrashed?? Red = half leather, TV, sunroof, cleaner engine bay, stock, not thrashed, $3k cheaper I can't decide .... damn buying a car is hard work ..... especially after the one I had settled for didn't work out, and there are no more auto black sedans for sale in the country (and I dislike all the other sedan colours). Opinions?

Can someone please email or PM the checklist that was sent out - my main hard drive failed last weke and I lost everything on it .... I don't remember getting a PM either about meeting point/time
-
Anyone want a "slightly used" R34 VSpec Nur? Still sold for $10k .... daaaayyyum
-
^^ it's what I do to your Mama when I am in a frisky mood
-
haha you don't have to watch your words cos I am a mod - I can take as good as I give But seriously, you can't knock people for complaining about being defected when on the way enter their cars in shows or Mallala .... police policy in this respect is plain stupid. And people like Les should be taking it up with the Poclie/their MP that people are avoiding these shows en-masse because of the unwarranted attention/defects we get.
-
^^^ that is a super ignorant comment Minibats. You drive a SKYLINE, hence it is defectable. They can (and often do) defect you for a STANDARD BOV. They can get you for anything they want, doesn't matter if you are stock standard. So you think I should go out and buy a tow vehicle and a car trailer, then tow my Skyline the 436km to Mt Gambier .... suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure. NOT

here you go syfon and Charles89

By the photshopped comment I assume you mean the wide-angled lense in the bottom pic? If you mean the actual cars, then no it is not photoshopped - given the photos I took are scarily similar And for reference some pics of my R34 in front of the beasts - not sure if it enhances or detracts, but I like it
-
hey mate, welcome back. Hope your Line is fixed soon and out & about! I will organise a paintball outing shortly so you had better come for some shooting! I had my wheel done on the S15 by Car Toys, who I later found out just sent it to Willshires and then charge $100 on top of what Willshires chrage. Needless to say I was unimpressed, but the quality of the work was great.
-
yeah I did my turbo changeover on jack stands .... actually can make it a bit easier to get those damn fiddly banjo bolts lined up when you sit under the car and jam yourself whilst contorted into the position you need to be. But yes, I still think overall a hoist would be much easier. Yeah and +1 to wtf on no tools .... how can you own one of these forever being modded and breaking down pos's without a huge box of tools?
-
you're welcome - but I have no idea how to tell if it is a VSpec or has options - most of the program is in Japanese. Someone else might be able to tell if it is a VSpec from the screenie I posted though?

Don't worry Ben I have it covered Oh, and we only actually need the body number - ie. the bit starting with 6U9000.... or BCNR/ENR/PV etc....
