2003 V35 Sedan Gt-8 Trans Issues
Nightcrawler replied to Nightcrawler's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
It has only done 62,000km (according to the odo), and the condition of the car supports this. The new sensors were fitted then the fault code deleted. That afternoon (Thursday) the CVT fluid was changed ($1,200 OUCH! - I had planned to anyhow though). The fault returned the next morning when they test drove it. FYI I don't actually own this car yet. I have paid the deposit (which the seller has offered to return to me pending the problems being sorted out), and was supposed to fly to Melbourne this morning to pick it up. So atm the purchase is on hold until the problems are 100% fixed. Does anyone know the rough price to replace the solenoids in an auto box? (I know this is a unique box, but just to give me a guide). It was mentioned to me that it may be solenoids, as the trans has a problem when cold and is fine when warmed up. I have no idea how long it sat in Japan waiting to be sold, so is a plausible theory. So has no-one ever seen this type of behaviour from an auto box before? Oh yeah, the car is a July 2002 model, so not sure if it has an update CVT box or not. FAST says my car model is BLJARSWV35EDA if that means anything to anyone. -
2003 V35 Sedan Gt-8 Trans Issues
Nightcrawler replied to Nightcrawler's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks for the tips guys. I agree it does take time to warm up before shifting properly in normal operation, but the car STAYS in 1st no matter what for 2-4km. This is definitely not normal. And it threw the vehicle speed sensor code, which is most certainly not normal. I suggest the battery probably wasn't disconnected as the crash repairer was only touching up chips, but you never know. I will get them to do the re-learn things - is there a sticky somewhere to tell me how to do this? -
Are you serious? Suss much! No way that is kosher. If he has internet access to email you, and to pay via Paypal, how does he not have access to internet banking? But either way, sif a 'missionary' would send an email like that.

I should have shown you photos while you were here .... didn't even think of it. Ah well, at least you know the secret now .... I am sure tons of other people have figured it out by now with all of my massive hints anyhow

Hi, has anyone had any experience with errors with the GT-8 trans? The story goes like this: - car drove fine and error free in Japan - car arrived here in Aus and was driven a small amount to be complied - error free. - car was driven to a crash shop to get some paint chips touched up - error free. - car picked up from crash shop and on starting sticks in first gear (whether in full auto or paddle-shift) for approx 4km travel, after which time the trans works 100%. - ODBII scantool fitted and says 'vehicle speed sensor' error. - 2 new speed sensors ordered from Japan - speed sensors fitted, car still emits same problem. - ODBII connected again and error codes cleared - car seems to now be fine (mind you it was warmed up, and the problem seems to appear when the car/trans is cold). - started car this morning and problem reappears. Have not had the OBDII on it yet - that happens again Monday. Has anyone seen this kind of problem/behaviour before?

Eoi: Group Buy On Internal Lights

31mm Festoon (Quantity): 6 T10 (Quantity): 4 T5 (Quantity): 2 Location (Suburb & State): Northgate, South Australia, 5085 -
dang, that's right .... there is no way they would fit .... the rears are 65mm wider than stock - they would hang about 3cm out of the guards .... 33mm wider than stock is the perfect number I am after, so 10" rims would need to be offset of +50 Yeah the CE28Ns I have priced and chosen don't have anywhere near as much dish as I would like, but they will have about 35mm dish which is the best I can hope for with this type of car.

What size/offset are those rims again Jared? Spotted this pic in my travels, and am thinking that white XD9s on a black car might not be so bad

In super saddening news, the intermittent transmission fault that has delayed me taking delivery of my new car has returned (despite new vehicle speed sensors being replaced and a full trans service including $1,200 of CVT fluid), so I won't be gong to Melbourne to pick it up tomorrow ;) Hopefully it is a solenoind issue and can be sorted soon, otherise I will have to start looking for another car. Also spotted James being a champ and dropping off some tyres to me today - thanks mate! Your 33 is clean as!
-
^^ But Nick, they do expect it to be a girly hairdresser's car - and it delivers Muhahahahahahahahahahaha j/k mate .... she is a good car

I have one of the JustJap kits on my R34 and it does the job nicely!!

hmm I can't see the problem with noobs having SAU hoodies .... I would have thought more restrictions should be put on car stickers (as these are the biggest form of {sometimes bad} advertising) rather than hoodies ....

Shit I forgot to put up the times/places - found the sheet in my car this morning - sorry guys. Here it is

I will chuck them on a DVD and drop them to you tomorrow or Wednesday Guy (along with your fishing tackle box you left in my car from the Balgowan fishing trip). And I will take Di up on her kind Schutzenfest delivery offer too Nope haven't read the books. Don't have time to read these days either And Pete - you will be glad to know that my brother-in-law David (who is coming on the weekend trip) is also a feral Port suppporter .... so it will be 2 on 1 I actually took him to the match yesterday, and he was bizarrely quiet all match .... quite the opposite to the earfuls I got earlier in the year when you guys did us
-
There have only been 5 episodes of True Blood aired in the US so far Guy and Mark .... so a DVD is a very long way off still. I have ep 1-5 and 6 is on tonight, so will have it tomorrow if you want them on a DVD Guy. You have to watch them on your PC (or media centre) though, unless your DVD player plays DivX.

The more pertinent fact is that you could buy 4 WD 1TB Green Drives and run them SATA mirror RAID in a self-powered exterrnal enclosure to backup onto for around the same price as a SATAII tape drive and tapes - then you have 4 x 1Tb drives - couldn't see them all failing. but for my mind I would stripe raid 2 drives together and then have a redundant 2 as well - that way you get insane access speeds, and 2 x Gb arrays for backup. Your insanely vital stuff just chuck on a DVD or 3, and then buy a cheap 10Gb online storage account for insane peace of mind. Screw 50Gb of inferior technology to back up onto.
-
yep me too - I have been loving True Blood! Just seems to getting better and better in Season 2 .... mmmm Sooky

Cmon guys it is a place - Kuitpo - get the spelling right And yes, I will be organising another paintball day down there in the very near future - as soon as the weather clears up (wouldn't be ANY fun in the rain/mud). I will put a post up in the next month or so, and am thinking a date in October sometime.
-

-
Congrats on Scotty and myself winning Bad luck all you losers who didn't come out for drinks afterwards - Scandy and I rolled the Belgian Beef Cafe and perved on all the hotties - and dayum were there many! Plus spotted a pair of bayside blue R34GTRs outside the Belgian, and then a silver R34GTR, Ferrari Testarossa and a Maserati shortly thereafter. Not to mention a dodgy 4wd patrol driven by MattyT and containing none other than Flick, SkylineGuy19 and the rest of the crew Top organising skillz Kirshneel Mohammed, and I advise everyone who came that I will organise paintballing in the very near future - so stay tuned!!!

Wow those were the days .... that was probably the last cruise Munro has been on .... and now he has sold the 3 litre streeter - but I do love the R35 (I might add) ..... I even spotted Chops, Mel (MissNismo) & Pawley in some of those pics ....
-
haha I can even spot my R34 back in the days when she was wearing a spoiler in that pic - must have been not too long after I got it.
