  1. Not sure if it was there or not Talbo - my eyes hurt too much from looking at the Supra .... I even think the leatherette seat covers had been spray-painted - as the centres were metallic silver, and I have never seen material like it .... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
  2. yeah Scandy is a bona fide Northie - he has stabbed people for less than the comment above And stolen their t.v. And hung out at the Hollywood or Elizabef for hours on end And smoked weed since he was 12 cos his mum and dad do And had his first fist fight when he was 6 - when he used to wear his Holden jacket 24 hours a day ...
  3. Penny, I absolutely love living in a new home - I highly recommend it. No maintenance, little garden work, everything opens and closes properly, and generally just nice to live in. Older homes (in my experience) are quite the opposite. It really comes down to can you live without the big yard. But the other side of that coin in, do you have lots of free time to enjoy a yard? If you are like me you rarely head outside, so the lack of a huge yard is not a massive issue. The other option is try to find a decent size block to build on - something 450sqm is normally only a modest price increase over a 300sqm block. Often, even in new developments there are irregular blocks tucked away in corners that are bigger blocks that are similar price to the smaller ones. Maybe have the best of both worlds and try to get one of those.
  4. Spotted this awesome wallpaper at a 1970's house today - totally priceless! And this abhorrent pos in a car yard on North East Road - mmmm big chromies and orange spray painted vinyl dash
  5. I am definitely looking forward to seeing it, but not sure I can get over Sylar being Spock :wtf:
  6. yep, I am sure I will put in an appearance .... maybe even with my new gf Heslo
  7. ^^^ then it's the one with the R34GTR front end .... drool
  8. ^^^^ easy there Tiger .... people will actually start believing that we are fudge-packers .... especially after seeing Heslo in the drag getup :puke:
  9. I had a feeling my video drivers were doing something funny when I was getting some jerkiness in busy scenes in Left 4 Dead, so I uninstalled my recently downloaded ATi non-Catalyst driver, downloaded the latest driver with Catalyst (to manage my dual monitor setup), and lo and behold my CS stress test has gone from 119fps to 203fps. I had a feeling when I got my 3850 that it was at around 200fps. It barely seems worth the upgrade to a 4850, but while I have my rig in pieces and am reinstalling Win, I might as well do the upgrade and futureproof. Hey Steve - what exactly happens in win7 when you play a Punkbuster game? I take it that Win7 lets you install Steam? Luke - we need to catch up for me to grab both isos of Win7. I already have keys. Any chance of putting them on a DVD(S) and chucking them in your car or something and I will give you a call in the next few days
  10. I don't know too much about the Compros, but have just been researching the Leadtek 3200 myself and it looks the goods. Hardware decoding, Ulead Video Studio 10 included and is only $100 from MSY. BARGAIN! I am buying one for my upgrade.
  11. Yeah I just got up half an hour ago *yawn* Only 2 jobs to do this arvo - so 2 hours of work for me today, but will only earn $400. Them's the breaks
  12. Yeah, that is why I went over for the Melbourne Motor Show a couple of months back - to get my new car fix and have a gander at the R35GTR and the 370Z before they officially came out.
  13. Speaking of Q6600s http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=270385607480 And while I am shamelessly plugging my Habibay auctions, anyone want a nice PCI-e 7600GT? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=270385625022 I will have a PCI-e Asus EAH3850 256Mb DDR3 Video card $120 for sale shortly too if anyone has an eoi. I will also shortly have a 320Gb WD SATA HDD $40, 400Gb WD SATA HDD $50 and a 500Gb WD SATA HDD $60 for sale soon if anyone wants some storage.
  14. yep I am pretty keen for this too. We should organise someone to take over a boat for some fishing on the Monday! Wombat Inn sounds good - especially if we can get a heap of us in there to run rampage and drink them out of decent scotch!
  15. Weird - mine too! Exact same problem
  16. ^^^ Correct, you have 6 months in which to lay the slab after signing the contract, else no FHG. I was under the impression there were no exceptions, but that may have changed since we built. FYI we laid the slab 3 days b4 the 6 months was up - we had to pressure the builder flat out. In fact, they poured the slab on Jan 3rd 2002, which was a 36 degree day (hence they started at 5am and were gone by 10am), and most tradies take the whole of January off (and certainly don't ordinarily work that close to Xmas). So in answer to your question, yes they should easily be able to do it within 17 days (physically). In fact, it should only take 3 days - 1 day to cut/fill and dig the footings trenches. Maybe an extra day if you need masses of cut. 1 day to lay the steel reinforcing and plumbing 1 day to pour the slab. But whether the builder has the spare tradies and equipment to do it before your date is another story. Good luck - and welcome to the nightmare of building. I just pray you aren't building with Rossdale or AV Jennings ....
  17. Yeah I also have had a cold for about 10 days now - not killing me, but damn inconvenient! The Nurofen Day and Nights all loaded up with Sudo work a treat for making me feel human 4 hours at a time.
  18. no idea Steve. Maybe full uninstall FF, reboot and reinstall the latest FF?
  19. Dang now I feel really bad for making you drink a Midori Illusion at my place Flick Hope you fell better now though!
  20. Asus EAH3850 256Mb 113fps 1920x1080 4xAA CS Stress Test Phenom 9500 Quad core CPU @ 2.2Ghz
  21. I reckon that shit was pulled out nigh on 40 years ago, cos Adelaide's roads are not conducive to trams and they disrupt traffic too much. They had the brains to take out nearly every tram line in Adelaide back in the 1960's - and these idiots want to put them back in? Imagine trams buggering up West and East Terrace - those roads are bad enough now, without losing an lane and not being able to turn at certain places .... would suck ass.
  22. Yeah, but the cost of $12M+, combined with the disruption to traffic in an around the new tram line, added to the fact that it replaced a very serviceable free bus service that did exactly the same job = mega fail. Need I remind you that Terry/Bill et al who want to do the Garden Island drag strip only asked the state govt for $10M to which they gave the massive thumbs down. Misallocated resources so it looks like Mike Bland is actually doing something - other than kissing babies and taking credit for the previous Liberal government's setup of Defense contracts and Mining projects ....
  23. Ah yeah sorry I forgot Kye - you are even dirtier than he is Well, since geographically you are a lot further south than him
  24. That is the EXACT card I am hoping to get. Are you happy with it Vu? If I get it, it will cost me $200 with 1.5 years warranty still left on it. And I should easily be able to get $100 for my 3850 (since it is an awesome card that plays Crysis at very high res with no problems), so it is a great value upgrade.
  25. ^^^ I may or may not have this sticker on my R34 just for shits and giggles Yep I did it. Fairly big job, as the non-oem EL style dual thermo fans I bought did not actually fit between the chassis rails, but I made it all fit with an angle grinder and some cable ties. It will not fall out in a hurry, let me guarantee you! But yeah, once I got it all fitted up it is awesome. When they come on it is so noisy it sounds like the world is ending, but even on a hot day my Cooling Pro radiator stays around the 90 degree mark. I would highly recommend you buying a Pivot fan controller to run them though - as running them full time is not recommended (and noisy). TBH I don't know exactly how much benefit they really give over the stock clutch fan - I actually think it is not worth the upgrade unless your existing fan is dying (like you say), and you want to have a play with your car.
