I can't wait for RC1 to come out. I am gonna format and redo my Phenom machine and put W7 on 3 x 36Gb 10,000rwm Raptors in Raid 0, with 2 x 1Tb drives inside my LianLi box, and 2 x 1Tb WD Greens in my external e-SATA SuperBox - should do for storage for now - but Adam have just released that on May 17 they are effectively doubling their data allowances - I am currently on 60Gb - will change to 60Gb for use between 8am and midnight, then ANOTHER 60Gb between midnight and 8am. 120Gb of {mostly NewsBin/SABnzbd} data per month - swoit! Hoping that W7 kicks ass on 3 x 36Gb raptors striped, even on a lowly Quad core Phemon 9500! If only the x86 would see more Ram I would add another 4Gb OCZ, but I can't be arsed getting x64 to work properly, as it is my daily/work machine, and Vista64 was a major headache. Have also sourced a kick-ass 4850 1Gb card to upgrade my existing 256Mb GDDR3 3850 (which has been awesome to tell the truth).

pffft Sled whinging about having the dinners in the North-East - he is the only real dirty Southerner amongst us. The Gully was within 10km of nearly everyone (or their other half) at the table I agree though - Sussex for the win - The Alma and The Tap Inn are nice too (and we could mix in some driving range action at the Tap Inn without the need to go elsewhere).
-
well L to the mutha farkin OL .... the things some guys get up to on a rainy winter's night at the Gully Pub I nearly had Sled joining in too - would have made for a MUCH better photo Mmmmmmmm brownies, but damn I was full for hours after my steak, ice-cream AND brownies .... never again. NOT
-
yep, I need a response as to what level you will be site sponsor, else this thread and your sig has to go guys. But welcome all the same
-
Ease up there Darren and some others. If you don't like SAU and have nothing positive to contribute, then maybe it is time to move on. If we let every jackass put up a 'Wanted to buy' or 'For Sale' thread, the forum would full of nothing but, and this is what it turned into for a while there. Mick - nice to see you are back! But please use the 'wanted to buy' thread. Thread locked, pending deletion
-
yeah Steve I have a spare set of Par 3 clubs you can borrow
-
We will warm up with an ale/bourbon or 2. A whole bottle sounds like fun for while, but then carnage. Yeah there is one hole that is 143m. I actually even fail at making that distance with my 5 iron, so will take my 3 believe it or not. I am a short hitter for some bizarre reason (cue Skandy's witty comment here). Especially when the ground is damp and there is no roll, like at present.
-
lol if you play off 4 you wouldn't be welcome to come play with us assclowns
-
Yeah I was down there last week. Forgot to put these up on the spotted thread. Only had the black one there then (which is already sold - the red one stays as the showroom vehicle). I got a nice glossy brochure too - (puts on Borat voice) It's NIIIIIIIICE!
-
so Talbo just rock up at Valley View at around 3:45pm if you can make it.
-
I see you lurking in here Luke - come play golf tomorrow! Yeah 4 or so is about the max we want in s group. It is only mess around golf though - we can even have people teeing off on the same hole at the same time to speed things up.
-
I normally go around on my own in about 1.5 hours. But depends how good golf we play. OK, let's say 3:30pm at my place, that way we can have a roadie, and be on the course just before 4pm. If it gets to 5:40pm we can give up and head back to my place. So, SLED is in, Madaz is in. Any other takers?
-
Actually, are you working tomorrow arvo Pete? If you are not, come a bit early and we can go a for a hit of golf at Par 3 up the road from my place (I think you golf, right?). That offer is extended to anyone on here - If you are keen on coming for some Par 3 golf goodness at Valley View Par 3 (we can take beers also), PM me. I would imagine heading there at around 4pm.

LOL @ Ben getting a 2 week holiday from the forums coutresy of Sled for paying out his shiny new bus. I might take the Skyline mate, as I am not sure how long I am staying, and whether or not I will visit my perants who live nearby after. But feel free to come to my place and cruise on up there with me. What time will you be here?
-
^^^ Yeah I get wht you're saying Ben, but the simple fact is that if you can't see, then don't go. As I said above, I don't ever slip between stationary traffic, even if they leave a gap. You just can't see. And if a pedestrian, cyclist or motorcylist whips around stationary traffic then you have no chance of stopping. It is a hard one though - that is for sure. When Carolyn t-boned the chick in my story above she hit her passenger side at around 40km/h - sure shook them both up and did serious damage to her 2 year old Laser SR2. The chick she hit was adamant that Carolyn was in the wrong, but the insurance companies decided significantly otherwise. The chick also did a runner, as ubeknown to us she worked nearby and ran to her work in a bit of a daze. All got cleared up though. Then when Carolyn was 8.5 months pregnant she was sitting at the same interesction (but turning right off Main North onto Regency coming from the city) waiting to turn right, and the similarly turning car in front of her did the right hand turn (on a general green turn) in front of an oncomping car, causing the oncoming car to swerve to miss them and collided as a glancing head-on with Carolyn's Accord Euro. Needless to say she doesn't go anywhere near that intersection anymore.

A couple of years ago the wife was in this exact scenario, except she was in her Laser in the left hand car slip-lane coming to turn left from Muller's Road onto Main North Road at Sefton Park. The normal 2 lanes of traffic were full of stationary cars and she went down the left hand slip lane in order to turn left. Some stupid woman turned straight in front of her between the 2 stationary rows of cars and Carolyn T-boned her. Guess what - 100% the other lady's fault, as Carolyn was travelling in a straight line in her lane, and the other woman pulled out in front of her and Carolyn had no way to see her prior, nor to stop. I can't see how this bike scenario is any different. The turning car is the one who has to give way 100%. The bike travelling in a straight line has to give way to NO-ONE. Regardless of what a cop on the phone told you Ben, I think you would find you would be the vast majority if not 100% in the wrong. I make a point to NEVER pull between stationary cars to turn - even if they leave you a gap to do so - it is just too risky if you can't see who you are pulling out in front of. Just because you can't see them, doesn't mean a cyclist or motorcyclist isn't there.

Dang, some people have may too much time on their hands Yes, people used to post for sale items in the general section - BEFORE there was a a dedicated thread for it, and while there were only about 20 SA members, so the forums didn't get inundated with a million new posts a day. Hard to believe that post was nearly 7 years ago! The 2 respondents Matt and Dennis are long gone .... but Whatsisname and Munro were 2 of the guys I first met, and funnily enough would be the 2 guys I catch up with most often off here socially in a non-car-related sense.

Will Anyone Fit My Front Mount Intercooler
Nightcrawler replied to RBTWENY5's topic in South Australia
dang, is it school holidays already? Please take your car to a reputable workshop. Or better still, use the search function to find the 1,000,000 similar posts on the subject of FMICs and people seeking to do mechanical work. -
Yep, as Chef pointed out when every car is complied in Aus it MUST have an English manual supplied. Mine was a 10 page photocopied and stapled pos, but meets the letter of the law.

It is my understanding that as of when ANDRA withdrew it's accreditation/support for the track, no decent competition cars have or can run there. ANDRA certification was lost many, many years ago, hence only street meets and private days were held there for the last few years it was open.

Failblog has tons of awesome clips! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKOEQVgONh0

It's just a bit of a joke Karl .... But since you bring it up, since the unions have constantly pushed up minimum wage and holiday/penalty/leave conditions, businesses in Aus have to sell their products for significantly more than competing countries can produce and sell them. What, would you have them shut down international trade and make us pay double the price for everything, just to keep the unskilled workers in booze, smokes and LCD TVs? Apart from all that, if they restricted import goods, then the countries in return would not buy our raw materials/wool/grain, then Aus would be bankrupt in 5 seconds flat.

Stimulus Payment Information. This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format: Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment? A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers. Q. Where will the government get this money? A. From taxpayers. Q. So the government is giving me back my own money? A. Only a smidgin. Q. What is the purpose of this payment? A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set or some such thing, thus stimulating the economy. Q. But isn’t that stimulating the economy of China? A. Shut up. Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the Australian economy by spending your stimulus cheque wisely: If you spend that money at Kmart, all the money will go to China . If you spend it on petrol it will go to the Arabs. If you purchase a computer it will go to India. If you buy a car it will go to Japan. If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan/China. And none of it will help the Australian economy. We need to keep that money here in Australia. You can keep the money in Australia by spending it at garage sales, going to a cricket match or footy game, or spend it on prostitutes, beer and wine (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only businesses that may still be owned by Aussies. Thank you all Australians, Your mate, K.RUDD.
