Recommended Place To Paint And Fit A Bodykit?
Nightcrawler replied to nigelswazi's topic in South Australia
Get the kit painted by your fave shop and fit it yourself. 9 times out of 10 you will get a better quality fitting job than a crash shop would do anyhow as you can take serious time to get it right. Unless of course you bought a poor quality kit that needs heaps of shaving or moulding to fit - then you definitely want one of the pros listed above to do it for you. -
Where did you go up river Carl? We have family property at Sundlands/Hogswash/Waikerie and went up there for a night Thurs Friday. Fishing was a bit slow, but still managed to get a decent size Redfin, and a couple of nice 50cm Callop for dinner. The mixed half a dozen of red wine (incl. 04 Redman Cab Sav, 02 Leasingham Classic Clare Cab, 00 Pepper Tree Shiraz and others), bottles of Wild the sphincter of the universe and Johnny black, after downing a carton of James Squire Golden Ale and a carton of Palies in the afternoon made for 5 VERY sore heads on Saturday though

yeah was a pretty entertaining episode. 14s is embarrassing for Shane though - I thought that car had a bit of power? Must have had grip issues methinks. That Laser SR2 is pure LOL. He keeps going on about how he sucked at the 1/4 mile cos it lagged off the line then boost hit and it was all over the shop with wheelspin - this is why most people are smart enough to buy decent cars, rather than turbocharging some fwd ladies car.

New Motorsport Complex Or Mike Ranns Hoon Laws
Nightcrawler replied to JMW's topic in South Australia
All good mate - I was just flinging shit. From memory the track closed in October 2004 - right at the re-start of Wednesday night street meets (after the winter closure). I missed the opening night and was going to race in the next one and they pulled the pin on it, quoting 'timing light issues', which turned out to be very poor ongoing maintenance, and some hungry rodents -

If I owned an old cooner with a bull bar I would be ramming her and all the people like her all day long. Oh how satisfying that would be. Print off the road rules for her to have a peruse about how it is most definitely NOT her right to sit in the right hand lane. It most definitely IS the law to stay as near as practicable to the kerb at ALL TIME. -
Incorrect. It is Willall customer's car over here from Canberra - the guy drove it here to get Willall to change the fluids and do a service on it. I spotted a black R35GTR, Red R35GTR and silver R35GTR out the back of Main North Nissan last week All ready for delivery to their new owners. Main North Nisan have pre-sold their initial allocation 12 units, and have ordered an extra red one so they have one to leave on the showroom floor for advertising.

^^^ I don't want to come across as anal, but since I am sitting here looking at some of my AIR timeslips from March 2004, I doubt very much the track has been closed for 8 years .... But, I absolutely love this part of your sig : "drivers use your brain and stay in the left hand lane." - I can't agree more. Even in a 60 zone the law states to at all times drive as near as practicable to the left hand kerb. Let alone all of the absolute losers I constantly follow doing 70 in a 90 zone (on the Port Expressway) sitting in the right hand lane. It absolutely shits me to tears. I don't care that they have no place to be, and no time to be there in - I am a very busy guy and every second counts .... when they are needlessly in my way I wish to do evil things to them. But they have no idea - they don't even understand why I am flashing my lights at them or a filthy look when I finally get past them. They have no idea they have blatantly broken the law and inconvenienced me to the nth degree. -
Awww but it is such a cool club! And yes Ben, every time I scratch it I get get out the rattle can of matte black and touch her up - love it! But alas, I have now bought a new boot, so has come the time to get my bits painted - so in the not-too-distant future will also exit the stealth bomber club.
-
Yes I also advise strongly against putting the little one asleep in the 260 - it woke my sleeping baby many moons ago .... damn noisy car
-
WOW congrats Nene and Ben!!!! My brother-in-law's wife (he is Red Back on SAU and owns the grey R33GTR number plate VPSEC-3) had her 4th child this morning - a 4th GIRL believe it or not! Going to visit them tonight at Calvary. I can't believe my 'baby' is nearly 18 months old - hard to believe how time flies!
-
I haven't got a 4wd, but would be keen to tag along with anyone with the lure of mulloway/jewfish like that

yep. Shane owned, as expected.

There is a whole SAU forum dedicated to this sort of question with hundreds of different answer and opinions. Did you even do a search for "RB20 turbo" or something similar? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fo...erforma-f8.html

hahaha hairdressers car All jokes aside, she is a nice car mate. And yes, I certainly can vouch that they go very hard - would easily crucify a stocky R33, and would toast even a pretty well set up mild R33 through the hills!
-
Yeah mate I am getting the A1RMS. Delta what do you think of the HPXs? They recommend I go A1RMS for a mildly hard driven street car (no track time).
-
I am not trying to be inflammatory, but when I got my R34 it had done 86,000km, and I am quite certain the rotors had never been replaced due to rust and lack of evidence of any mechanical work ever done to/around them. My car has now done 155,000km and they are on their way out but still going. So I have to disagree that OEM rotors are good for 30,000-40,000km. Either way I am changing to the dimpled/slotted gold passivated rotors, which arrived the other day, and they look bloody awesome in the box! I haven't fitted them yet as I am waiting for my QFM brake pads and brake rebuild kit to arrive, to do it all at once, along with some braided brake lines and custom caliper paint.

WOW how much fun would that be for a drifter?!!!!!

Ben, you realise that when you come to buy a place that 1). you may no longer have a job, and 2). the banks are very shortly going to be demanding people have 20% deposits - yes 20%. The downturn in the property market will drive this heavily, where banks will become very nervous about prices falling and exposing them to potential losses in the case of Mortgagee in Possession. Incorrect. It is a myth that property is an investment - in the current climate anyhow. Extremely few properties return even close to the interest cost alone - eg. $300,000 renting for $300 per week - @ 6% interest = $18,000p.a - rental return $15,600 minus management fees (20%), land tax, maintenance etc. The real gains in property is in capital growth - and while this has been remarkable in the past 6 years - evidence suggests that property growth will be effectively 0% for the next 3-5 years off the back of the GFC. Also, in my opinion the biggest driver of property prices is 1). irresponsible lending practices by lenders who have given way too many people (many of whom should be lifetime renters) loans, on the back of 100% and even a ridiculous 107% lends (includes stamp duties and costs), and 2. more significantly greedy loan brokers who actually talk people into buying more expensive houses ("why only buy a $250,000 house - based on your earnings we can lend you $400,000!"). These guys earn a commission from the banks when they write a loan - the more the borrower borrows, the more commission they get. The GFC is partially to blame, but pretty much EVERY business knew we were screwed the second Labor got in power - this is history repeating itself. Labor haven't done a damn thing for business, but have enabled the Unions to bring unsustainable labour policies into play that big business just won't stand for. True this isn't the only driver, but it is a big factor. True. I have expressed my thought on the stimulus packages before - an absolute waste of time with money that could have been much better spent keeping businesses in business in the form of tax and payroll tax cuts - if the businesses remain open, the staff keep their job. Giving people $1 to blow on a plasma has a VERY short term effect, and will only somewhat slow the death of the business. On the other hand, encouraging business to stay open and helping them to remain profitable is a longer term proposition - something KRudd and Swann obviously have no idea about. I am just wiaintg for the to utter Paul Keating's famous words "the recession we had to have". Again, because Unions have forced the minimum wage up to unsustainable levels for business. Unskilled phone jockeys getting $30 an hour. Why bother keeping the jobs in Aus? They didn't. Out of all of this, we were going to have a recession either way, I won't dispute that. But by making business friendly policy and taking certain actions, you can limit the effect it has on the economy. Labor have done nothing but a pathetic knee-jerk reaction, and so Australia will sink for the next 3-5 years, like the rest of the world. When you don't have a job, don't come whinging that the world economy is to blame. There will be 1 person responsible, and unfortunately you seem to have voted for him, instead of the successful ship that was the Liberal party for the past 12 years, that has steered is into and through the unbridled period of success the country has been through for the last decade.
-
Me too I love this response: Perfectly succinct. All you filthy toolbags who voted Labor in are getting exactly what you asked for. All Labor have done is undo the excellent 'work choices' legislation, and put the Unions in full power. Since Labor have been in we have had nearly every trade on strike and bitching one way or another. The 12 years of Liberal prior = no strikes. So now businesses say 'too hard' to trade in Australia with Unions pushing up wages and workers rights at the detriment of the business actually being able to turn a profit and keep people in their jobs. Hence why so many companies are going offshore (Bonds, Hard Yakka), and you will see significantly more of this in the years to come. Unfortunately these are the people who can least afford to lose their jobs (who have bought overpriced and unaffordable properties in the last few years, who were lent 100% of the purchase price of property when they should never have been given a loan in the 1st place, who live week to week blowing all of their pay on mortgage, booze, smokes etc). These are the people who will lose their homes and start the property collapse. Oh, and as for this response: WWWWWWWWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF???????????????? Found this great post while trolling around on economy forums too" Interesting perspective, and in-line with many of my own thoughts.

When you sign up to an internet plan you agree to the terms and conditions. Simple as that - y0ou chose a plan/provider that charges for excess downloads. You physically CAN NOT download 20Gb of data and thought you were only using 6Gb. Unless you had P2P running 24/7 and shared out the 20Gb, of course - but in that case you shouldn't have been so stupid. Either way, you did the data, regardless of everything else. If I was Optus, I am sorry to say, I would f$%k you hard. No-one wants to accept the consequences for their own actions anymore .... a sad world when everything is someone else's fault. Can you confirm that your usage was download data, and not upload? If it was indeed upload I have some sympathy for you, but if you actually downloaded 20Gb of data, then you MUST have know you were smashing your download quota of 5Gb.

my gold, passivated, dimpled goodness arrived yesterday. Cheers mate!
