Sau Dinner 7pm Friday 23rd January - Watermark Hotel Glenelg
Nightcrawler replied to *flick*'s topic in South Australia
yeah she booked heaps of spare spots Jas, so you and your bf will fit in no probs! Great coffee you made me today btw! See you there. -
Yep I got a couple of Maxxis tyres from Daryl last Friday. Always good, and prompt service. Oh, and it is just North East Road, not Lower - that is a different road entirely.

Also, has anyone else got a Wii? I bought Wii Fit for the missus for Xmas (I wasn't being rude - she requested it) and just got a game called Family Ski. Being a snow skier it is a very realistic and highly entertaining game! Thoroughly recommended. So many people in various forums bag Wii Fit as boring and not worth it, but I have been enjoying it since Xmas - an effective way to get off my ass and do some exercise and have a bit of fun while doing it. I have had many 1.5 hour sessions where I can feel afterward that I have had a decent workout (some of the exercises are absolutely brutal) yet the time flew and was fun. Bizarre - I never though I would get into it - but I have used it much more than Carolyn at this point (but I need to whereas she doesn't lol). I have noticed my fitness and coordination has improved in the short time I have had it, so that is encouraging.

I just bought one ... great spot there Steve

For calling any mod (especially me) a dickhead, have a 10% warning and you should feel lucky you don't get a 1 week holiday from the forums. I was going to go easy on you, but since I have seen this comment .... So, I am a dickhead because I deleted a thread in clear contravention of SAU rules .... even though everyone else does the right thing .... why do you have the right to post a wtb thread in the SA section and everyone else (including me) doesn't? I don't care how urgent it is ....

They would look pure porn on my R34 How much can u land them here for Luke?
-
^^ lol we were driving 2 cars behind that yellow R34 down Grand Junction Road tonight in my wife's blue Honda Accord Euro. There was a noisy white S5 RX7 near us too

Silver 1999 R34 Gtr V-spec 45,000km Immaculate

Sad to see this beautiful beast on the market, but your new toys will bring you joy Pete Devastating power and very tastefully modified! The new owner will be very lucky. -
Well Steve my Interweb speeds are all over the shop I have ADSL1+ (as I am on a RIM so can't get ADSL2 even though I am a whole 7km from the city and under 1km from my exchange). Mostly I run at about 2.5Mb (as I am when I tested now), but check this out from a few weeks ago: You read right - slower download than upload - 136kb/s - just over double the speed of dial-up - and I pay $100 a month for the privilege. I often test at under 1Mb/s, even though I changed from ADSL1 1.5Mb/s to a 'faster' plan (where they won't guarantee a minimum speed). Joy. Not.

lol I easily manage to blow my 40Gb per month .... 3Tb of HDDs and I am nearly full so about to buy another couple .... Usenet ftw
-
Sounds like a hoon driving impound .... was it your car Chad?
-
yeah I have just finished installing Windows 7 and it looks very good for a Beta. I am just wondering though - exactly how is it different to Vista? I have found very few differences except for its speed and stability.
-
sorry Craig I was running hella late for an appointment. Didn't see you at all. I only notice Skylines, anyhow
-
I would hardly call 18 boring hours of long-haul driving enjoying your car. Dodging roos, nearly falling asleep at the wheel, avoiding crazy drug induced truck drivers, being done for speeding, getting stuck behind losers doing 90km/h in a 110km/h zone, getting robbed of your hard-earned buying very dodgy food at truck stops .... Taking a car for a belt in the hills or around Mallala is, however. Not quite the same IMHO.

ROFLMMFAO it must be school holidays still (duh) Check out the price! (click)

because you would not get the $21k first home owner's grant = effectively lose 2 years of rent. I agree with what others have said - rent somewhere with your gf and make sure you can live with her - women are VERY different when you actually move in together. You would NOT want to go through all the pain, suffering and headaches of building (and yes, there are MANY), only to lose half of it if you and your gf broke up - it doesn't take long these days to build a de facto relationship, and it doesn't matter who contributes more to the costs and living expenses, she would still take half or more. Definitely see a mortgage broker - they can run all your facts and figures through complex PC software to establish which funder will get you the best deal. I believe regardless who you go with that an offset account is an absolute must. Get a lender who will give you a cost-free $10k credit card and live off the credit card all month. When you get paid pay off what you have spent in the last month on the credit card, and put the rest in your offset account. Each month most of your pay will sit in the offset account, and this amount comes off the principal amount of your loan effectively saving you paying interest on that amount. At the start of your loan this can add up to a significant amount over the course of a year. so each month you live off your Visa, then the start of the next month, pay it off, leave the balance in your offset account, and start living off the Visa again. Repeat forever. We went with Mortgage Choice, who were excellent. They put us onto a loan through them with ANZ. A couple of years later ANZ contacted us directly, and we changed over purely to them, as they offered us a better deal (since they no longer had to pay Mortgage Choice a trailing commission). FYI I am a property valuer doing mortgage security work primarily for the biggest lender in Australia, so I hope I know what I am talking about

No mod is compelled to do anything whatsoever Chad. Just because we are mods doesn't mean we have to be involved in every single thing. We graciously offer our time policing all the rubbish that goes on in here, and try to keep the peace. Maybe you want to be elevated for a mod for a while to see what an unthankful position it is, and how much time you have to waste every day for absolutely no reward, then have people say we are not doing enough ....
-
^^ nah I have been super busy and haven't managed to contact him to pick it up yet. Have left a message on his mobile, but he hasn't called me back yet. No problem, just seems likely he is the same guy.

$300 on a Toll truck Unless you think driving a car from Sydney to Adelaide is fun Hey, are you selling R34 gear on Ebay by any chance? I bought an R34 engine cover off a 'Rocco' - am wondering if it is u.
-
Well there is no easy answer IMHO. I am not keen to give the police our cruise details and they rock up and start popping bonnets indiscriminately. I am keen on cops defecting blatantly defectable cars with twats driving them and doing the wrong thing (and giving us all a bad name) - but fact is we almost never get any of them on SAU cruises, so that point is a bit moot. I think what is more important to highlight to Neil (and his ilk), is that most things imports are defected for are not major defects (or true defects at all), and could easily be resolved by the owner changing/addressing problem items, and attending the local police station to get the defect removed. This used to happen a lot, but I rarely hear it these days. I am keen to hear what becomes of this, but unfortunately really don't have the time to prepare for, nor meet with Neil. I am most happy for others nominated so far to represent us, including Nene, Ben, Heslo, Kellie and Sled, or any combination of them.

lol you wouldn't even get a cheap fibreglass knock-off for $300-$400 Keitz - $950 is around the going rate.

Schutzenfest 2009 Saturday 10 Jan 12pm Bonython Park
Nightcrawler replied to Nightcrawler's topic in South Australia
yeah will be great if u come Jared - haven't seen you in ages. OK sorry for the lack of updates people, but I will be wearing a green t-shirt saying 'Sotally Tober' and probably be donning my black SAU hat. We will try to sit near the middle of the middle tent. Sorry I got disorganised with the themed t-shirt thing - have just been too busy. Guy said he looked around and couldn't find anything decent anyways. See you all there. -
Matt is busy with Army work etc and I don't catch up with him much these days. Showed him the R35 a few months back and needless to say he was blown away! The R33 has had some special treatment including show quality under bonnet trim/polishing, and interior renovation .... I think he is planning to start showing it soon. Motor and turbos have seen some significant work too - hopefully AIR opens in the not too distant future for him to punch out some low 11's.

That would be Matt = whatsisname = one of your beloved SAU moderators A damn nice car too, making some serious power!
