Schutzenfest 2009 Saturday 10 Jan 12pm Bonython Park
Nightcrawler replied to Nightcrawler's topic in South Australia
yep that would be good Flick - the more there the earlier, the better it is for holding tables etc .... that way I can also go have a shoot whilst not yet too enebriated. Some years I get stuck there early holding tables and miss out on the sober shooting -
Sau Dinner 7pm Friday 23rd January - Watermark Hotel Glenelg
Nightcrawler replied to *flick*'s topic in South Australia
lol Yeah I am always +1 for the Coopers Alehouse, but we have had 2 dinners there already too The beauty is at the Bay that we can go for a walk and get ice-cream afterwards and dip our toes in the ocean. If you are super concerned about your car being defected then do what I do. Park behind the Woolies at the Eastern end of Jetty Rd, and walk down to the Watermark. The cops are never set up that far from the foreshore. ps. love your Pedo-bear Damo, you sicko -

Nightcrawler replied to Nightcrawler's topic in South Australia
Can you make it at around 11:45am like last year Nick? I always aim for 11:30am, but as you know I am always late So yeah, anyone keen to come and help get/guard tables and chairs come at 11:45am Northern gate and line up with me As I said in my last post I will be bailing at 5pm unfortunately - so if you are arriving after then you will have to look out for some SAU folk other than me. I will post up in the next day of so what shirts we will be wearing so you can ID us. -

no worries Dave, next time. I am also going to have to bail early - about 5pm. A friend of the wife is having an open house Birthday party on that day, and as much as I have tried to weasel out of it, looks like I will be picked up from Bonython Park around 5pm and driven all the way to Mannum for it Ah well there is plenty of time for Kransky's, Apple Cider, Leffe/HB and gawking at lusties before 5pm -
Welcome to the site mate. Since you are a newbie I will let it slide this time, but there actually is a 'welcome the forums' thread here (click) I don't want to sound like an ass, but if everyone who just joined up made a new thread in the SA section, we would have nothing but those type of threads. Enjoy your stay, and bring your weapon out for us to have a gawk at

hehe yeah spotted Glen and I winning go-karting .... by nearly 1 lap, nonetheless

Yeah we have tried to get sub-forums happening in the past, but it is not an SAU priority. I agree with Luke - people just need to use the search function a lot more, and/or keep whatever crap they need to rant about to themselves or the wasteland. Honestly, you guys wouldn't believe how many bs threads I delete before anyone else even sees them. It is a thankless job, being a mod, but imagine if we weren't here to keep the peace. Martin, I could not have worded my thoughts more succinctly. Ryan, yes I agree to some extent, but you can't expect us to be too harsh - it is a world of free speech (within reason) and we don't want to be Nazi mods. Also, some people on here think the mods read every single post within minutes of it being posted - well that just isn't true, and is an impossibility. If you have a problem with anyone's posts, then report them and I/we will take action. Make sure you are VERY specific about which which comments you find to be unnecessary/offensive, who posted them, and the time of the post - then I can track them down easily.

no - there are just twice as many d!ckheads/useless posts/people out of control than ever before - hence why Joel has had enough and has stepped down. you had better be joking .... what don't I do that you would do differently? Your answer dictates whether you get a permanent holiday from SAU, so word it carefully.

For everyone's info, the following Mod changes have been implemented recently. Congratulations to the following members who have been promoted by the SAU admins to Moderator status : SLED Heslo Respect their authority, or feel the pain of their ban sticks Cubes/Joel has chosen to step down as a mod, but will still occasionally be around as a normal member. Whatsisname/Matt and myself stay on as normal. That is all.

Yeah I have been a bit slack/far too busy to think about the t-shirt front, so ordering some to be posted is out due to time constraints. I will pop by Ed Harrys tomorrow and see if they have any good designs like last years. -
Merged with WTB thread. Please don't create new threads for WTB items

yeah I have been doing some research on the Omnia and it looks very good. Has a lot of good features that the Iphone doesn't. One big issue is battery life. I use my phone a lot, and from experience people I have spoken with said you have to charge an Omnia EVERY night, where an Iphone will last for days - even with heavy usage. But then you can buy spare batteries for the Omnia and change them, whereas you can't on an Iphone. So many things to weigh up. I was playing with my brother-in-law's Iphone today (the guy that owns the silver Series 3 R33GTR 'VSPEC-3' that people spot down Port Adelaide direction all the time). I liked it a lot I must say and was extremely easy and fun to use. Plus he has bought games like 'Crash Kart Racing' for $7 and it runs super fast and is awesome fun. Also my missus is looking like HAVING to get an Iphone as it is increasing ly likely that is what her work are going to set up to run on their VPN at work. SO it would be easier for me to have the same phone and accessories. Plus one of my real desires is to be able to dock my phone and use it as my alarm clock. With an Iphone there are hundreds of devices on the market to charge and utlise it like this. They seem to be lacking for the Omnia at this stage.

Zomg funniest thread ever. You are worried about a van that takes the exact route at a similar time every night, but never figured it out to be the paper deliverer? ROFLMAO Both Chops (on here) and I used to deliver papers when putting ourselves through Uni - it is a shit of a job for pretty ordinary pay. Yes you get used to having the road to yourself, but consider that most of the time you NEED to drive on the wrong side of or the middle of the road to hoik a big fat Saturday Advertiser and land it in the perfect spot on ever lawn/driveway, and not take out any parked cars, or even worse front windows on a house. I did both during my few years doing it and had some pretty upset customers. I have never been so tired before as when doing that extremely monotonous job - I used to hang out with my mates, then go throw papers from 3am - 6am - not a fun gig, let me assure you. The most dangerous things were drunk drivers, which since I used to deliver around Elizabeth and surrounds there were quite a lot. Often you would be driving on the wrong side of the road delivering papers, and a drunk would come down the road driving on the wrong side of the road and you would just pass each other by. Seemed to work well most times, but some were just crazy.

Sorry I didn't make it say hi guys. Got way more plastered than intended at our work thing at Ayers House .... damn the Annies Lane Cab Sav and the D'Arenburg Footbolt Shiraz - they were to good and I just couldn't stop. The wife had to half carry me back to the car, and there was no way she was letting me out on the town in my condition

^^ do you need legal tread Chris? I have a set here you can borrow that 2 have *just* legal tread, and the other 2 are easily legal. Come pick them up whenever you want.

got a wave from a white R33 on McIntyre Rd/Golden Way corner - didn't see who it was, but I got a wave off at the last second if you saw it. Might be the same white 33 I spotted on North East Rd the other day? Not sure who it is - haven't had a good look at them yet
