ok it's on. Anyone keen on coming over for a bit of a play next Tuesday 23 Dec book it in. If you know where I live, then come on over. If you don't know where I live, then I mustn't know you well enough
-
yep will prolly take you up on your offer Luke. We could have a North-easterners meet at my place maybe next Tuesday if you are off? Beer, TV, 8-ball and a bit of Skyline inbetween
-
I have many varieties of beer on offer Dave - currently drinking Millers Chill when it is hot (cool, limey and refreshing), Guiness an old favourite, or got some Grolsh and Heineken on the go atm. If you wanna come over on the weekend I may be about, but more likely to do it Tues or Wed next week. Work is currently simply psycho and don;t have 2 seconds to spare.
-
Thanks mate, but lucky you didn't get a close look at her .... she is a bit of a dog atm and needs some love and attention, which she will get next week. Nothing a good clean and polish won't fix. I will take the compliment though Love the colour of your fanta beast - tuff as with the black bonnet! (I heard you have plans to repaint it - why is that? Cops I assume). Also, one of my bushes in the rear end appears to have gone (judging by the clunking noise), so I might have to drop the rear cradle and check it all out next week too Anyone wanna come over and help? There are beers and chips on offer
-
yeah that was me mate - saw you pull in to the BP and was going to turn around and come say hi, but was running late for an appointment.
-
The 34 was me! Did you notice how dirty it was? It is still in country-spec after a trip to Clare/Auburn/Whyte Yarcowie on Friday.

^^^ I am happy to swap a set of my wheels (Either Enkei Cirlars or ROH Blades) plus some cash adjustment for either of these set (both staggered offsets unfortunately for Ash)
-
^^^ awesome advice there from Martin - who definitely knows what he is talking about, since he owns the 1st road registered R35GTR in Australia, and has been pulling it apart and putting it back together again for some months now. Willall Racing is the place to take your R35GTRs guys - groundbreaking performance, upgrades, and reliability. Having seen Martin's ECU unlocked (and tuned) GTR out on the track at Mallala, I can assure you he is at the top of the rung when it comes to knowledge and quality. As most of you will have read in the November Wheels mag, his R35GTR did 1:14.7 around Mallala, which is not only 1.6 seconds faster than a Porcsche 911 GT2, which is almost 3 times the price ($447,500), but beat the Mallala Improved Production car record set by Adam Allan (Datsun) of 01:16.2 22/08/1998. And this from a relatively stock GTR is simply amazing.

OK, I have had enough of this. As per forum rules, NO SELLING/POSTING STUFF FOR FRIENDS. You must post up your own items, and they must be in your possession for inspection, pick-up or delivery. I have let it go on long enough, but I am going to start deleting posts and warning people who do not adhere to forum rules.

^^^^ lol, I wonder who actually posted that vid on YouTube (and filmed the run for that matter)? I put up a vid of Keir's R35GTR on the day he got it too, amongst other stuff

I interesting read here .... a few points: The guy in Wahroonga selling the black premium R35GTR is about to take $155k for it. It has under 300km on it. Has had it up for sale for $169K for some time now with no joy. People who think they will be buying an Aus delivered R35GTR for $175k are TRIPPING. Nissan announced the prices back when the yen was 1/3 higher than it is now - unless there is a massive recovery in the A$ in the next year (which there won't be), then they will be $200K plus. At that price point people would be stupid to buy a GTR over a 911. I think the number of people with that much money wouldn't dream of buying a GTR in favour of a Porsche, if the price was the same. Sure there will be a few, but I think Nissan will be pushing crap uphill to sell them - it will be the R32GTR all over again. Also there is every sign that the Aus economy (and more significantly the unemployment rate) will be quite ratshit by then, especially since KRudd is running the country (when he is actually here, that is). IMHO we can only hope that Nissan doesn't get the R35 complied here by next June, in which case we can start bringing in 2nd hand Jap ones built in 2007. The prices of those is sure to be much more reasonable! And yes, anyone who has ever bought a car from Nissan knows how completely crap they are. I bought my S15 new off them a number of years ago, and to say they were cowboys in a massive understatement. Fortunately the biggest Nissan dealer in SA has some guys in the parts department who love Skylines, and drool over my R34 every time I am there. They actually do know all the R34 parts numbers, but of course none of the parts are ever in stock, and have to come from Jp - even my water pump, which I changed recently. But all in all, I have to say I love the car to bits. They are porn on wheels!

hehe - who is your Daddy? (and what does he do?) lol .... reminded me of this great song and even better clip

Yeah I am considering doing this. It reflects badly on ALL OF US. What do you think the other cars around will think after they see d!ckheads out on a Saturday night racing with SAU stickers on, then see my car with an SAU sticker - I get put in the same boat. Racing/hooning on public roads is just plain stupid, and people should learn the lesson the WRX driver learnt a little while back. You just never know when something is going to jump out in front of you, or road conditions change quickly. And Damage, you said: But - would you have driven exactly the same with a cop car sitting behind you? How quickly did you reach the speed limit? If the answer is no (or quickly), then it clearly wasn't appropriate driving for the road.
-
Yeah nice to catch up with those who rocked up. A bit sad to see so few people there, relative to the number of SA members, but hey it is their loss if they don't come out. Had fun shooting some hoops and talking some smack. Methinks I am going to have sore hammies tomorrow

wow some great feedback here guys, thanks! I had no idea that the IPhone has no Bluetooth - that is a deal killer for me straight away, as I constantly use Bluetooth in the car on my Nuvi, and not having that functionality is unacceptable. A mate has the HTC and he loves it, so I might give that a try. The bad camera issue with IPhone is a sore point too, as I do want to use it for photos. And given I don't want to listen to music with it at all, it seems I would just be paying for the IPhone name without good reason. I wonder does the new(er) 3G version have a better camera and Bluetooth functionality, ie. people were talking about the 2G phone? Seems bizarre for it not have Bluetooth and a decent camera! Can anyone confirm that the 3G version definitely doesn't have Bluetooth and that the camera is crap? For those with O2, Imates etc I feel sorry for you - I have had the O2 XDA, O2 XDA Mini and the O2 Flame, and they all sucked ass - constant reboots required and hardware faults needing the units sent to Qld to be fixed.
-
^^^ on what basis Vu? I need hard proof. Do you own any of the above? I know plenty of people with IPhones and they love them. The N95 is way too chunky in my pocket for my liking.
-
I am after feedback from anyone who has an IPhone. What are they like to use? How tough are they if you drop them? How easy is to get additional applications for them? Advice, recommendations, etc etc Also, can anyone hook me up with 2 of them, super cheap, brand new and unlocked (or locked to Vodafone)? I am after one for myself and for the missus for Xmas. I see brand new 3G ones on Ebay for as low as $600, yet also see them on Ebay for $1,500 - WTF? Does anyone know how to do all the good tricks regarding firmware and other unlocking features?
-
Dang, my work end of year Xmas function is on the same night. We are at Ayers House though - and will no doubt be wandering around town afterward full of liquor - so will probably call in to say hi.
-
yeah Steve I am most happy with my Nuvi (mine is a 310 btw). Would buy another one for sure.
-
haha I knew my baiting would draw wrath from the one they call SLED
-
pfft you moaning girls .... cruises are not out - creating big cruises, then saying to the cops "this is a sanctioned/official SAU cruise ...." is out. yeah mate was all finished some time ago and is all fully functional. The MFD and the carPC setup is a true work of art. I will get some pics this weekend of it if you want Steve.
-
Not sure if I posted pages ago, but I will be there. Not sure if it will be with the +1 and 1 year old, but will see. That is assuming I don't get too rat-faced at Lukes Saturday night .... We also have a friends Xmas get-together at 2:30pm, so won't be hanging around all arvo. Am up for a kick of the footy though - and I will only kick a Crows footy Matt - as if I would kick the footy of some other Peninsular style pretend footy team that can't even crack 8 wins in a whole season
-
That is my brother-in-law David .... Red Back on here .... it sure is one nice '97 R33GTR VSpec 2 with an R34GTR MFD and all the cool toys

haha was I making a lot of noise? I was doing a bit or over-revving as I love the boom of the RB off the tall buildings in Pirie St
