What do you guys think of this matte gold R35GTR in Dubai? If we are lucky Munro will spot it while he is there next week and get some more photos! I like it a lot!
-
Nope, I have never lost my license, and I am willing to BET that far less than 50% of SAU members have ever lost theirs - let alone the 90% you claim. Do use use Sex Panther? "They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time. " And I don't think it is ok to do 80km/h in a 60 zone, regardless what other traffic is doing. I am definitely not a saint, but I would never do 80km/h in a 60 zone - especially in traffic. Just silly. /end rant/rebuttal

Welcome Another Stag To Adelaides Roads
Nightcrawler replied to Stagstock's topic in South Australia
Love the colour. Welcome! -
Sorry - that wasn't directed at you Adam - it was in response to this: For someone to joke about breaking the law then bragging they would just 'appeal and get their license back lol' is just plain stupidity - you don't even deserve to have a license mate. It is all great until you hit my Grandma doing 80km/h in a 60 zone, then I come hunt you down.
-
mine took 3 weeks to the day .... have heard it can be up to 6 weeks. And if you reckon you were done doing 80km/h in a 60km/h zone then you are a tool and should not be proud of it. Idiots like you give us all a bad name. There is a time and a place - and doing 80 in a 60 zone is just unacceptable IMHO.

Jap tuning companies make hundreds of variants of exhausts/resonators/rear mufflers and test them all for flow & power vs noise. They spend a considerable amount of time and money perfecting their exhausts. Subsequently Joe Blo from "X Exhausts" could never make you a 'custom' exhaust with the same flow, noise and character as a Jap tuning house. So .... IMHO buy a 2nd hand cat-back system. I have found that Aus made (like Flyn Performance) front/dump pipes are fine (had one on my S15), or there is an SAU forum trader that sells segregated ones (used to have one on my R34 - have now swapped to an HKS one as I upgraded my turbo). I have also found that X-Force or MetalCat (even better but more $$$) high flow cats work well.

I might have cleaned up a bit .... yes the number of useless/repost/wrong section threads seems to be increasing .... might be time for me to sticky another rant

Got mine yesterday. Looks great! Thanks Stan!!! Keyring is cool too (thanks Ann).

screw that - when it comes to anything to do with timing belts, ALWAYS get a professional to do it. If you have been smacking valves on pistons, even if just when turning it over trying to start it, then it is game over big time. You only have to be a few teeth out for this to happen.

Anyone Had Trouble With Just Car Insurance?
Nightcrawler replied to R33PER's topic in South Australia
Unfortunately insurance is only as good as what they pay when you actually have an accident. You might have a TOTALLY different opinion when you went to claim if you wrote the car off and it is insured as 50% you, 50% your Dad. They they pay some private investigator (like Sled) to find out the actual percentages and then they find out you drive it 99% of the time and don't pay out a single dime. -
Private track days aren't actually public spectating days, and hence are not advertised. I guess we were a little bit naughty in inviting so many people out (well a couple of invites somehow turned into an entourage - but you get that), and no doubt a few of the drivers who shelled out big bucks were a little bit miffed there were so many gawkers in their way about the place. But hey, a bit of hype over the first track day of the 1st street legal R35GTR is not entirely a bad thing. I noticed Martin take some shots of us vultures surrounding the R35GTR when we got there, that will no doubt make the pages of HPI sooner or later It was a bit of an excited throng of Nissan lovers .... and with good reason - that car is HOT! Hey Michael, do you know what times Steve got out of the 35GTR? I had to leave half way through his session And yes, I agree - your car looked (and sounded) pure porn out there Michael

Here are my pics (in alphabetical order) .... have a fair bit of video to DivX and upload, so will do that in the next few days

I agree that turbo timers are definitely not a necessity .... but, for the car to still be running after an accident, you have to have ALL these 3 things to happen for a correctly installed turbo timer to activate: - handbrake needs to be engaged - car has to be in Park/Neutral at the time the ignition is cut - the keys have to be taken off the 'On' position Now, in how many accidents do ALL of the above happen? (And they ALL have to happen for a turbo timer to initialise). Answer = none. As for telling thieves which wire to start the car, 99.9% of stolen vehicles DON'T have turbo timers, yet they figure out how to hotwire them in 2 seconds flat. Somehow I don't think it makes a lick of difference

Rule of thumb is that if you think an item may be defectable, then is most certainly is!
-
Yeah, driving around on bald tyres in not only a danger to yourself and others, but voids your insurance if you have an accident. Silly.
-
yeah I think we should ban l33t speak, all caps, and txt on these forums. I too got a headache from trying to decipher that. I deleted your triple posts too. Oh, and I have decided to edit the topic title, to make it a bit more family friendly.
-
dude, it is a matchbox car .... I think that is the comparison Luke is after.
-
yep I was there the day they brought that wrecked R33GTR in - was not a sorry sight at all hey mate, if you want to spend $30k on an R34GTT buy mine .... but mine has 230rwkw and all sort of fruit that that one doesn't have (and before everyone asks - no I am not actively trying to sell my car - but everything is for sale at the right price).
-
That is just disgraceful. Hope insurance covers it all, and it all works out. Wouldn't you just love to have caught the buggers in the act and have had a golf club handy?!

Damo's Birthday Cruise Monday The 6th Oct
Nightcrawler replied to DIOR 33's topic in South Australia
I will be out at Mallala watching Keir's 350rwkw R35GTR vs Munro's 400rwkw R33GTR vs Keir's Lambo Gallardo and the rest of the Aussie Exotic Ferraris, Porsches, Lambos, NSXs etc .... sorry won't be able to make the cruise Have fun anyhow, and Happy Birthday Damo for whenever it is. -
hahah yeah I always take a game to warm up - I think my first game was only 127 or something, and my third was 155 (that included a couple of between the legs bowls) - but it was the 2nd game that won the gold
-
Nah won't take long at all for the tuning companies to make some T3 outlet style exhaust manifolds to bolt all the normal turbochargers to - I would be very surprised if someone hadn't made one already and has it in testing pending release for sale to the general public. Remember that the Yanks have grabbed onto marketing of the GTR and have already started throwing money at development - not to mention all of the decent Jap tuning houses have had one for 9+ months now.

Try JMS - they used to rent out parts people needed for compliance. Otherwise try Jap Import Spares (I am pretty sure they had a set there the other week. Or try to hire a set from PVP Imports or Sinergy - they would have sets laying about to put on cars from compliance.
