Yeah they have had one at the last 3 Big Day Outs .... funny stuff indeed!
-
bizarrely while my ADSL1+ gets a MAX of 4.5Mb/s on speedtest, sometimes I get download speeds as fast as 600kb/s in UTorrent, when downloading multiple torrents from a good source (like tvtorrents private tracker). I am not sure how I get such good speeds sometimes - yet have NEVER downloaded from the 'normal' internet (even direct from Adam or a pipe) at that 600kb/s.

Skylines Australia Family Christmas Party
Nightcrawler replied to Nene260RS's topic in South Australia
BAH HUMBUG j/k ummm honestly, while I may be rather largely proportioned, and kinda jolly, I am sooooo not your happy go lucky Santa type .... I would probably pinch the small children for shits and giggles (well that's what I do to my 10 month old, anyhow). But I am keen on going to the event - sounds great! -
I am only 1km away, but with cable length it is probably 2km I see too that the brand new part of Northgate - 'Lightsview' - is advertising super high speed broadband - fibre to node! And here we are right next door running off a rim. I have even tried to bribe Tel$uck people to let me pay for copper to be run to my house from Oakden (under 300m and they have ADSL2+), but to no avail Yeah you might be right with the capping thing Joel - but fact is my DSL can very between 1Mb/s and 4Mb/s several times in the same day. The 300kb/s was just once.

Hey, I LOVE Jen Hawkins as much as the next guy (hell - maybe even more), and I hate to burst your bubbles - but check this out:
-
gahhhh you guys suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I am stuck in pov ADSL1+ hell as I live in a suburb in which the whole darn suburb runs off a rim. I am with Adam, and have so-called ADSL1+ up to 8Mb/s interwebs .... bleh 8Mb/s my ass - the most I have ever seen in 4.5Mb/s, and often believe it or not, it goes down as slow as 300kb/s. Before I had normal ADSL1 1.5Mb/s and it was always 1.5Mb/s. Now with ADSL1+ I frequently don't even get that

yeah Damo you definitely have to put more oil in, as you need enough to fill the oil cooler and the 3 or so metres of braided. I put nearly 6lt of oil in my 34 - I just fill it until it is up to the 'max' line on the dipstick. Like I said previously, I turn the car over without starting it (take off the cas power connector) for like 30 seconds to pump the oil cooler full of oil again, then top up the oil to the max fill line on the dipstick. At the end of the day, the more oil you have, the better it is for your engine - higher volume = greater chance of heat dissipation. Up to a point of course - you don't want to overfill it and create unnecessary pressure.
-
yeah that's the kind of pic I meant. You are the man Patrick! Hey mate, do you still have or can get SAU stickers? Mine are screwed and I need some more. I need a bigish one for across the front of my windscreen (approx. 40cm wide), and 2 logo ones for my rear quarter windows.
-
It is really hard to understand exactly what you are saying mate - can you draw some pics? If I were you I would take what you got to a workshop, and ask them what you need to complete the system. At the end of the day, as long as the system is sealed and oil can flow freely, you can do pretty much what you want.
-
Ah sorry mate, now I get what you are saying. There is some truth in that comment though - when talking about REALLY cold oil - hence why a thermo driven sandwich plate is best - then it stays closed until the oil is up to temp, then opens and runs the oil thru the cooler. I don't have a thermostat setup, but wish I did.

hmmmm this is borderline of Smooth Garage needing to be a forum sponsor. Soon enough EVERY single business that has anything to do with imports will be advertising in our forums for free .... But I'll let it go unless I get complaints. Good luck with the Grand Opening
-
no worries mate, not telling you off, and you made a valid point, but as others pointed out, it is probably not worth of a new post for
-
ok I'm merging this dribble with the wasteland
-
Hahaha I knew it Nah, sorry to hear mate - that sucks the big one. Wouldn't you just love to catch the little shits and teach them a lesson. And if I were you I would have gotten that cop's badge number just to make her stress that you were going to take it further - that comment was totally out of line.
-
what is HPIAB?
-
That link didn't work, but unfortunately you would have to get a different variety sandwich plate to connect to your motor, as all you want is an inlet and outlet - no hole in the middle for a filter. The normal style sandwich plate could then be used as a relocator. Best to buy a kit with a relocation kit provided - you need an extra hose and the capped off engine mount.

I use just under 6 litres with the cooler. I make sure I jack up the passenger side of the car nice and high to drain most of the oil out of the cooler on an oil change too. Then I unplug the cas and turn over the engine for 30 seconds before starting the car to prime everything up and refill the oil cooler. Works a treat! No you are wrong Cronic - I didn't really understand your post - but the cooler your engine, the better it will run and the less chance of detonation. Hence an aftermarket radiator to help keep water cool, and an engine oil cooler is a necessity for an Skyline that gets driven on hot days imho. Regarding the engine thickness vs temperature - once your oil is over a certain 'warm up' temperature (around 100 degrees) it maintains its highest value viscocity. So it will maintain the same 40W viscocity (in say a 10W-40 oil like I use) whether the oil is 100 degrees or 150 degrees. Obviously keeping the engine oil near 100 degrees even in hot weather or when the car is being thrashed is highly desirable - hence why an oil cooler is a very good idea. FYI I have been using Nulon 15W-50 oil for the last couple of services and have just changed to 10W-40 to see if there is any difference. As it turns out, my car likes it heaps better - less cam rattles at startup (and in fact at all times), and the engine seems to rev a bit smoother.
-
That is not an SA rego number. I am pretty sure I have seen that name/location selling other cars - he may be a trader. The whole ad seems a bit cagey to me - no clear photos and no great variety of photos. Surely if you were selling a $50k car you have MUCH better quality and detail photos?!
-
I have a cheap-ass Just Jap one in my 34 and it does the job just nicely. Was under $300 from memory.
-
yeah mate same sort of thing - but because I only have 1 afm, the car would stall too when I tried to rev. Just check over your pipework and it will soon be very obvious if you have a leak. And run the car and stick your head inside the engine bay while revving - you will hear it blowing/hissing.
-
What is the best price you will do for the bonnet? At that price you are talking (Chinese) retail .... does it come with a receipt or warranty? Where did you buy it? The bonnet strut is bolt-on? Do you know if you have to modify anything to fit it? Cheers
-
A mate who is a professional cad artist knocked this up for me, but seems Mitch already beat me to it. Here it is if it is any help.
-
Yeah sounds like you have popped off an intercooler hose - my car did the identical thing you have described, and all that had happened was a cooler pipe had come loose and popped its clamp. A blown turbo will almost always result in shitloads of white smoke coming out your exhaust, or so I have heard.

Seductiv Cruise? More Like Seductiv Fools!
Nightcrawler replied to MissSeductiv's topic in South Australia
Who the hell organises a cruise on a Wednesday night? Apart from that - we have our own SAU cruises and don't really need other groups advertising their cruises on our forums. If we wanted to hang out with Seductiv we would join their forums .... -
awwww what about me Jasmin? I used to come in and say hello at BP even when I wasn't buying petrol haha yeah Danny you are an old schooler (just like me) from back in the day. Yes, funny to see so many old faces in those party pics you sent me - most guys who don't hang around here anymore - Munro, Cheeky, Pawley, MissNismo, MatR, Diggity etc etc. Ah those were the days .... lol, do I really have that reputation Dave? Hey, I am not a cop - I just help keep the peace
